Story
*** Bonded – Leo and Niko are bonded and must be adopted together. We’re Leo and Niko, two 9½-year-old 15 lb Maltese-blend brothers who’ve been side by side since the very beginning. We each have our own style; one of us brings calm and quiet comfort, while the other adds a spark of lively cheer. We both love soft beds, gentle routines, car rides, and being close to the people we trust. Together, we make a great team and hope to find a home where we can keep sharing life’s adventures. Leo: I’m Leo, small but full of spirit. I’m affectionate and curious, always checking on Niko to make sure he’s okay. I love going for walks, snuggling, and staying near my people. I might bark a bit when meeting new faces, but once I feel safe, my sweet and loyal side shines through. Niko: I’m Niko. With my soft coat and gentle nature, I’m the quieter one between us. I love curling up like a plush toy in my favorite cozy spot and quietly watching the world go by. I enjoy simple things—a comfy bed, a peaceful home, and someone who truly cares. I take my time to warm up, but once I do, I’m a loyal little companion who sticks close. Favorite Things: Both dogs delight in life’s simple comforts: cozy beds, steady routines, and close companionship. Leo enjoys gentle petting, brushing sessions, and exploring the yard or taking leisurely strolls, while Niko prefers to quietly relax and observe. They love car rides and settle in easily, content to relax together. Training and Manners: Leo and Niko are house-trained when let out regularly and have solid manners in the home. They handle being alone for several hours without issue and are respectful, easygoing housemates. Leo enjoys a bit more activity and walks well on the leash; Niko favors short, peaceful walks and is equally well-mannered. Both understand household rhythms and respond well to gentle guidance, bringing calm and comfort to their surroundings. Health and Care: These senior pups are in good health, with no known medical concerns beyond being slightly overweight, which adds to their cuddly appeal. Both are neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Their care routine includes monthly heartworm, flea and tick prevention, plus minimal grooming involving seasonal deshedding and regular brushing—Leo especially enjoys this. Other Animals: Leo and Niko have experience with small dogs and coexist comfortably with them. They haven’t lived with cats, though their foster believes they would likely be fine with a mellow feline companion.. Children: They would do best in a home with older children or no children. Ideal Home: A single-story home suits these brothers best, helping them avoid stairs due to their age and weight. They thrive in calm, steady environments. Leo enjoys a balance of cuddling and gentle outdoor exploration, while Niko is happiest lounging on the couch with minimal activity. A family who values their contrasting personalities: Leo’s lionhearted devotion and Niko’s quiet steadiness; will see them thrive. Overall: Leo and Niko are a loving duo who bring warmth and companionship wherever they go. Leo brings loyalty, expressiveness, and a playful spark, while Niko offers calm, patient affection. Together, they make a loving, balanced duo ready to bring comfort and joy to the home lucky enough to welcome them. If you think this pair could be your perfect match, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like a good match, their foster family will reach out with more information. Their adoption donation is $300 for the adorable PAIR. ##2591259##
