Story
Hi there! I’m Pauley, your future 10-pound companion who believes that love is the only compass you really need. At 11 years young, I’m a mature Maltese gentleman whose eyes might be cloudy (I’m about 95% blind and can only see shadows), and my hearing isn’t what it used to be either (I can only hear clicks). But don’t let that fool you - I’ve got this life thing figured out! I’m your ultimate kitchen assistant (especially when treats are involved) and I’m a smart cookie who’s already mapped out my foster home and how to get to the back door and grass. I’ll bark to let you know when I need to go out or when it’s dinner time! I get along with other dogs — there are several in my foster home and I do just fine. I haven’t met a cat yet but if they are dog-savvy and gentle then we could probably be friends. I’m very friendly to all humans but no small kids (older kids 12 and up would be fine). Now, I do have some preferences! I like my independence and prefer to sleep on a cozy blanket on the floor in the living room rather than on couches. At night, I sleep in my people’s room in my bed (an pen works great - I’m not a fan of crates). I’m not much of a cuddler or a toy player, but my favorite hobby is EATING! LOL. My four remaining teeth work just perfectly so don’t hold anything back! I’m about 95% housebroken when you’re persistent with taking me out on a regular schedule. I wear a belly band when my people aren’t home and at night, just to be safe. I prefer not to ride in the car, but I do love getting out for walks and sniffing the beautiful world on my own schedule - going out, eating, and napping are my ideal day! I need someone who is home a lot and can give me the consistent routine I thrive on. I’m proof that the most beautiful souls sometimes come in packages that need a little extra TLC and understanding. Could you be my patient, loving companion? I promise to be your loyal shadow! Apply here: www.floridacockerrescue.org. ADOPTION FEE: $295

Story
****IMPORTANT INFO - PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING**** 🧚‍♀️✨ Meet Tinkerbelle ✨🧚‍♀️ 1 year old | 15 lbs | Small breed mix Tinkerbelle is a tiny spark of joy wrapped in silky white fur with hints of apricot. While her exact breed is unknown, she appears to be a mix of Poodle, Maltese, Havanese, or Coton de Tulear — a perfect blend of fluffy, fun, and adorable 🧚 She is spunky, playful, and full of happy energy, but she’s also a total cuddle bug who loves being close to her people. 💕 She doesn’t mind being dressed up, loves toys and bones, and gets along wonderfully with all people and all dogs. *IMPORTANT*: We do want to be completely transparent — Tinkerbelle is a digger and an escape artist. Because of this, she needs a very secure home and a “helicopter” dog parent who takes safety seriously. She was trapped in Georgia before coming to us after being on the run for months and then was adopted, instructions weren't followed and she escaped again on the 3rd day. We trapped her a 2nd time. It is unlikely that she will fall for a trap again, so we need a seriously diligent dog parent. One who is actually terrified of their dog getting loose and killed. A lot of people take that lightly, but we need the person who is paranoid. No sugarcoating here — she’s worth the extra diligence! The good stuff: 🧚‍♂️ Crate trained 🧚‍♂️ House trained 🧚‍♂️ Listens well 🧚‍♂️ Loves playtime, toys, and wrestling 🧚‍♂️ Social, affectionate, and FUN The safest home options for her are: - An apartment or townhome where she is always leashed outside, ideally with access to a secure dog park for supervised play. - A home with a solid fenced yard that has dig-proof reinforcement installed along the entire perimeter. She is very sweet, but will only go to an adult home without kids so that no one lets her out. She would LOVE another dog to play with and someone who works from home if possible. 📍 Fostered in Clearwater, FL 💉 Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped & heartworm negative 💲 Adoption fee: $400 ➡️ Application: www.love4pawsfl.org/adopt Tinkerbelle is a special little survivor who just needs the right setup to thrive. If you’re looking for a lively, loving companion and can provide a secure home, she may be your perfect match. 💖🐶

Story
Hello- my name is Mateo. I was surrendered by my owner to a vet’s office. Thankfully, the people at Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue were notified and stepped up to take me in. I am a bit over 3yrs old and an adorable Maltese mix- the rescue thinks maybe with Shih Tzu (best guess)? I am “well rounded”, weighing about 20lbs. I get along well with small dogs, but not fond of big dogs. I walk good on leash and try to keep my kennel clean. I have pep in my step, so am looking for someone who likes to go on walks. My $450 adoption fee includes vet exam, up to date vaccines, neuter, deworming and preventatives while in our care, heartworm test (negative) and microchip. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete a free, non-binding application at www.gofar.dog under Adopt. If you have questions, email my rescue at adoptions@gofar.dog. If you'd like to experience all the love I have, and want to make me part of your family, please complete the adoption application by pasting this link into your browser: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sm2546&method=online_form_html&formid=21
