Story
Louis is adorable, but has his quirks. While he is tolerant of others in the household, he is definitely a one-person dog. At times he can become overprotective and may growl at others who get too close to his chosen one. However, he has never bitten any other human or animal. This is an energetic dog who loves routine. Part of that routine is going on walks. He walks well on a slip-lead leash and will heel well. That is until he sees another dog or squirrel and then it is time to bark! He can be redirected by turning around and he has been to numerous training sessions to improve his socialization with other dogs. While he has historically gotten along with a few other dogs, he might do best in a one dog home or at least a home with another calm well balanced pet. Because he is so energetic, keeping up with his focused leash walks, and maintaining his training will help Louie, as well his medication routine, which can be adjusted as necessary with a vet recommendation. He has been on Vet prescribed fluoxetine, (prozac) 10mg daily, he takes easily with a morning treat. It has definitely helped, but it is not a magic pill. Louie is cuddly and makes a great lap dog with his favorite human. He likes to be petted, but not on his head. He will growl if petting time is over and will usually jump down to lie on his bed in his crate for a nap. Louie would make a fantastic pet for someone experienced with an energetic pet like Louie, who has a fenced-in yard for him to run and play fetch. Louie is neutered, weighs 10#, is vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm and flea medications. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Meet Murphy 💕 a gentle senior gentleman who is hoping to find a quiet, loving family to spend his golden years with. Murphy is everything people love about senior dogs… calm, grateful, and easygoing. His favorite things include soft beds, naps, spray cheese, meal time, and simply being near his people. He’s perfectly content lounging beside you for movie night or relaxing in a sunny backyard. This sweet boy enjoys short walks, rides well in the car, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. In fact, Murphy is so submissive that he’ll happily let everyone else have their way! He has shown zero aggression toward people or animals and has even peacefully shared space with chickens and young goats. Murphy would thrive in a predictable, low-key home where he can enjoy companionship and plenty of cozy naps. While he does well with respectful children, he prefers a calmer environment and tends to retreat to a quiet room when things get too busy. As a senior, Murphy does have a few special needs. He takes arthritis medication and daily eye drops, and stairs aren’t his friend. He’s also scheduled for a dental evaluation to ensure he’s feeling his best. Despite his age, his foster has discovered that with proper care and a little freedom to explore, Murphy enjoys spending time outdoors and showing off a playful side that was hidden away for years. Murphy may take a little time to trust, but once he settles into a routine and learns you’re his person, you’ll have a loyal companion who asks for very little and gives so much in return. If you’re looking for a gentle soul to share your home and heart, Murphy may be the perfect match. ❤️ 📍 Fostered in Martinsville, IN Please share to help this deserving senior find the forever family he’s been waiting for. www.taffystouchrescue.com/adopt

Story
Rob came from a hoarding house where he never learned the joys of human companionship. He has been in his current foster home for nearly 4 years and has no interest in EVER coexisting with humans. In fact, he's quite an asshole and barks non-stop at his foster mom every time she gets up from being seated and simply walks across the room. He is pretty much the most disliked dog that has ever existed. He is despised by large and small humans and at least half of the dogs that meet him also can't find it within themselves to like him.  HE DOES NOT PLAY. HE DOES NOT SNUGGLE. HE DOES NOT GO ON WALKS. HE DOES NOT COOPERATE WITH ANYTHING HUMANS WANT HIM TO DO. Rob is not completely housebroken but will accompany his doggie friends out to do his business. In all honesty, his only redeeming characteristic is how cute he is.  Rob's ideal home is one where he can be just one of many other other dogs and someone will feed him and take care of his other basic needs while requiring absolutely nothing in return. We are looking for a needle in a haystack and hoping for a miracle. Rob will need someone willing to foster to adopt to make sure his adopter can handle his idiocinracies so anyone looking to adopt him needs to be within a 2-hour drive of Cloverdale indiana. Rob cannot easily be leashed, so a home with a fenced in yard would be best. Rob needs an adopter that is up to the challenge of having a dog that may not ever like you. Are you the needle in the haystack we are looking for? Side Note: Rob was adopted for a brief period a year ago and did fairly well but the other dog in the home ultimately decided Rob was a complete jerk and that they could not be friends. If you think you can work miracles, please visit our website at www.4pups.org and click the Foster button under Rob's photo. Rob is eligible to be a forever foster whereby we would pay his annual vet care for life, or he could be adopted for $1. ##1494427##

Story
We thought Erni was a boy - which is how she got her name! It seems to suit so even though we discovered along the way that she is fact, a hermaphrodite, we kept it!  Erni came from a hoarding situation and is well versed in living with a lot of other dogs. She has no desire to be an only dog, but also does not need a lot of them. She would prefer another laid back dog in the house. She is less knowledgeable about being handled by people. She is not necessarily afraid, it's just not something she enjoys. She is not snuggly, but still follows us around, begs for snacks and wants to be with her people. Erni LOVES to play fetch! She will play fetch for hours. She also enjoys other toys.  While Erni does not want to snuggle or be your best friend, she does follow her foster mom around the house and is very happy when she comes home. She will want to be your dog's best friend, but is fine if the other dog wants space as well. Erni is looking for a home with a solidly fenced yard. She is fine with cats. Erni uses both outside and potty pads and is about 90% potty trained. Chances are high she will not get much better but supervision and crate training are very helpful! Erni does walk on a leash. Erni's adoption fee is $175 and comes with spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet well visit and microchip. ##1355952##
