THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Ahoy, Matey! Meet this adorable little Pirate pup! Ahoy there, landlubbers! I may be a small pup, but I've got a big personality, a brave little heart, and enough playful energy to sail the seven seas! I'm a clever first mate who already knows how to shake paws, come when called, and play catch! I'm still learning how to walk on a leash, but I'm working hard to become the best deckhand I can be. My favorite adventure is running and playing in the yard, where I can stretch my sea legs, chase treasures, and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. When I'm not exploring, I'm ready to charm you with my sweet face and lovable personality. So, hoist the anchor and make room on your ship! I'm ready to bring plenty of love, laugher, and tail-wagging adventures to my forever crew! Pirate is a 2 1/2 year old Maltese/Pom mix who is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He would be best in a home with older children, a resident dog, and securely fenced yard is a must. The suggested adoption donation for Pirate is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Meet Tiny! Tiny may have a little name, but he has a whole lot of cuteness and love to give! This adorable little guy is learning the ropes of being a wonderful companion. He is currently working on his house training and is making progress as he learns his routine. Tiny can walk on a leash, but the big outdoors can be a little overwhelming for him right now. New sights, sounds, and experiences can be scary, so he needs someone patient and understanding who will help him build confidence at his own pace. Tiny seems to be more comfortable with adult women so no children in his new home, please! Story
Meet Oliver. He is a senior Maltese (born 2013) who still looks like a puppy. He's housetrained and good with cats and other dogs. He's a little cautious at first, but then he will be your best friend and follow you around.  Oliver loves to sleep in his foster mom's bed at night and snuggle! Oliver is nervous around younger children.  He would be good in a home with older kids (age 13+). He is on prescription kidney food. He also has Cushings disease and is on 10mg Vetoryl per day. The suggested adoption donation for Oliver is $200.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Meet Salt! At 10 years young and just 7 pounds, Salt is a precious little Maltese mix with lots of love to give! This tiny girl is looking for a cozy home where she can enjoy companionship, snuggles, and all the comforts of a loving family. Don't let her age fool you — Salt has plenty of love left to share! Could this sweet little girl be the perfect addition to your family? The adoption fee is $450 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##2875680##

Story
Tia got her first groom last Friday and did great! This special girl has come so far since joining rescue. Tia is a 10yr old Maltese mix who was surrendered from a puppy mill back in November. Shes been working in her socializing and learning what a house is. Tia is not your typical dog. She does well with puppy pads and does enjoy her outside time. Tia is still learning that humans are ok. And we don't blame her. When you spend the first 7yrs of your life in a puppy mill; it changes you. Thankfully her puppy having days are over. Tia is fully vetted. She will require a calm home with understanding people who get that shes not a lap dog. Her family will need to understand that she has to take things at her pace. Her kennel is her safe spot. She loves to watch her foster siblings and resident dogs from the comfort of her doggy bed in the safety of her kennel. She's been thru somethings and patience is the key with her. Her trust cant be rushed, it has to be earned. She would do best with another dog her size for a companion that she can learn from. She maybe older but she deserves to live the rest of her life in comfort and safety. With unconditional love, patience and understanding. #nonprofitanimalrescue #puppymillsurvivor #fosteringsaveslives #cuteness #fosterpuppylove #fosterpuppiesofinstagram #survivorstrong

Story
I purchased Milo from a family that decided to rehome him after his owner died. Milo is a great dog but needs someone that can spend time with him. I am very busy at times and want him to be with someone of a family that can spend time with him and take him on long walks.
