Story
Meet Angela - the 6-year-old, 8lb - sweetest little Maltese you'll ever lay eyes on. With her gentle spirit and a tail that never stops wagging. Angela will instantly melt your heart. This precious girl was rescued from a puppy mill, where she spent years being a momma. Now it's her turn to be showered with love, comfort and kindness. Angela is slowly learning what it means to be part of a family. She is working on her leash skills and potty training, and she does quite well in her crate. She likes being near people - cuddled up, soaking in affection, and finally experiencing the life every dog deserves. She is a gentle soul ready to blossom in a patient, loving home. If you're looking for a companion with a heart still full of love to give, Angela might be the one to complete your family. Angela is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Miami! Miami is a 6 year-old Maltese who weighs in at 7 pounds. She has been in foster care for 2 weeks and is making great progress on learning how to be a dog! Miami's superpower is that she is the world's best cuddle bug, often times falling asleep in her foster mom’s lap! She would do best in a quiet household which has the time and patience to help her reach her full potential. She is pee pad trained, working on leash walking, and crate trained. Miami was shaved at her rescue due to matted fur, so she is starting to regrow her fur - and she's ready to start her new life with you! Miami is currently being fostered in Mason, OH, and her adoption fee is $450. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Story
Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 14 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER!!! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Do you believe in magic? Well Matty's life has been transformed. Rescued from a puppy mill situation, he's now experiencing the joys of love and care. When Matty arrived, he was severely matted and had to be shaved, but now he's basking in the affection and snuggles from his foster mom. As he adjusts to his new life, Matty is proving to be a sweet and loving companion, although he may need time to feel secure. A patient family is needed to provide him with the love and stability he deserves. Due to his fragile state, it's essential to ensure his safety and prevent escape. Matty is on medication for a month to prevent tick-borne illnesses since under his mats he was covered in ticks. He was nippy as well due to fear but is settling down with patience from foster mom  This adorable 4-year-old Maltese/Poodle mix weighs about 12 pounds and is ready to bring joy and love into his forever home.April 30, 2025, 10:51 pm
