Story
Meet Bbang He must travel in-cabin, so we are currently only accepting applications from adopters who can pick up in Toronto or Calgary. • Name: Bbang • Age: 5 years • Sex: Neutered Male • Breed: Maltese • Color: White • Weight: 2.4 kg • Height (shoulder): 23 cm   Rescue Story Bbang was left behind when his previous owner moved overseas. He was abandoned at a golf course where he had been a regular visitor. During his time there, he was unfortunately mistreated by some male guests and forced to stay in a storage area. A kind caretaker who looked after him reached out to us, hoping to find him a safe and loving forever home.   Personality & Socialization (People) Bbang is a very affectionate and friendly little dog who loves people. He approaches both familiar faces and strangers with ease, often leaning in for pets and attention.   In new environments, he may show a brief moment of shyness, but he quickly warms up—especially with treats—and does not show any guarding or defensive behavior. He is comfortable with men and has also done well around children he met at the park.   He can be picked up easily and, once bonded, will happily roll over to show his belly for rubs.   Socialization (Dogs) Bbang is polite and social with other dogs. He enjoys greeting both familiar and unfamiliar dogs but is not overly playful.   He tends to avoid larger dogs at first and may be a bit intimidated by them. However, he is friendly with dogs of similar or smaller size and prefers calmer companions. High-energy dogs can feel overwhelming for him.   Even when provoked, he chooses to avoid conflict rather than react.   With Cats Bbang is currently living with a cat and has been doing very well. They even share the bed and sleep together.   Energy Level He has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but settles down nicely and rests calmly afterward.   ‍ Walks Bbang has good leash manners and does not pull. He prefers walking over excessive sniffing and follows his handler well.   He is attentive outdoors and has shown good behavior, such as waiting calmly when cars pass.   Additional Notes • May show food guarding toward humans (growling if touched while eating), but does not guard from other dogs • No excessive barking • Mild initial whining in a kennel, but settles within a few minutes • Enjoys car rides • Currently practicing for in-cabin flight travel using a carrier • Fully trained for both pee pads and outdoor potty • May mark in new environments   Ideal Home Bbang would thrive in a loving home that understands small dog sensitivities and can provide a calm, stable environment. He would do especially well with gentle handling during mealtimes and with companions who respect his space when needed.   If you’re looking for a small, affectionate companion who will happily stay by your side, Bbang could be the perfect match Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! ##2707777##

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Kkamang Age: About 5 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Maltese – Poodle Color: Black Weight: 4kg / 9lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I used to live with my sisters but when our guardian had to move into a nursing home, we suddenly lost the only home we knew. All four of us were rescued and I’m one of them. It was a confusing change, but now I’ve been given a second chance to find a family of my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Kkamang—a tiny, adorable Maltipoo with a soft heart. I might look a little shy at first, but I’m actually quite friendly, even with people I’ve just met. I like being around humans and feel comforted by gentle attention. I’m a sweet little pup who just needs understanding and reassurance. I may be small, but I have so much potential to grow into a loving, trusting companion. If you’re someone who can go slow with me and help me build confidence, I’ll be right there by your side, learning to feel safe and loved.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a treat and a gentle approach, and I warm up quickly. Before you know it, I’ll be leaning in for pets and enjoying your company. I’m comfortable being picked up when you gently lift me with support under my belly, and once I feel safe with you, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly—a quiet little way of saying I trust you. I haven’t had the chance to meet young children under 13 yet, so I may need a bit of time and guidance in new situations like that. · With Dogs: I’m a naturally friendly pup who loves making new friends—I’ll happily walk up to both familiar and new dogs to say hello and invite them to play. I tend to feel especially comfortable and get along best with dogs around my own size. · With Cats: Cats might pass by, but I’m much more interested in staying connected with my human during walks   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I like getting fresh air, but I’m just as content resting once I’m back home. I’m still learning about the outside world, so if something surprises me, I might stop and lie low until I feel safe again. Peaceful walks suit me best, as heavy traffic and loud environments can be a little scary. With time and support, I’m growing braver every day.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m comfortable sharing space and don’t guard my meals around people or other dogs. I may whine a little when I’m in a kennel, and car rides can feel scary, so I need a bit of help being gently carried in. I’m adaptable with my potty habits and can use both indoor pads and go outside.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Grooming time—like baths, drying, and nail trims—can be really scary for me. When I feel overwhelmed, I might try to protect myself, so I’ll need someone patient who can help me feel safe and go at my pace. I can also get startled easily, and when I do, I may panic a bit. Because of that, extra care is important during walks or in new environments, so I don’t try to run off. I’m still learning how to feel confident outside, so walking isn’t quite my strength yet—but with time and gentle guidance, I can improve.    KKAMANG'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2720327##

Story
Olaf is available for Foster to Adopt! We'd love to welcome Olaf into the Fetch + Releash family on May 9th. In order to secure a spot on the flight, he needs a committed foster-to-adopt family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you’ll be expected to take him home that same day. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog’s nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Olaf / Male / 5 years old / 14 lbs / Maltese Mix / From Mexico Olaf is a playful and affectionate little dog who brings an impressive amount of joy for his size. He wakes up happy. Annoyingly happy. Even before his coffee. He is the kind of dog who assumes every day is meant to be enjoyed and every person is a potential new friend. Olaf was rescued from a neglectful owner and initially presented as shut down and fearful. Over time, he has completely come out of his shell and no longer shows signs of that earlier life. He is now confident, social, and fully embracing the happiness he was previously missing. He walks well on leash and has a medium energy level. He would benefit from two walks per day, along with plenty of canine enrichment. Olaf is still working on his house training and crate training, so he will need a patient home committed to helping him learn the basics of living in a home environment. While he has not been formally tested with children, based on his personality, we believe he would do well with dog-savvy kids. He has not been tested with cats and is looking for a cat-free home, at this time. Prior to coming into care, Olaf tested positive for Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis. Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis are tick-borne diseases that stay in the bloodstream for many years. A CBC is performed to assess for an active infection. Olaf's CBC came back indicating no active infection. Ehrlichia/Anaplasmosis positive dogs may develop chronic kidney disease at some point in their life. It is recommended that any dog that has tested positive for Ehrlichia or Anaplasmosis receive an annual 4DX blood test, as well as a CBC and platelet count, before any major surgery or dental procedures. If clinical signs of Ehrlichia or Anaplasmosis arise, bloodwork should be done sooner. Olaf would do well in a variety of home environments with adopters who will continue to provide consistency and affection. He can be vocal, so a condo setting may not be ideal. He is ready to find a home where his joyful personality is welcomed and where he can continue to thrive. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Olaf’s adoption fee is $850.
