Hoi was found as a stray and taken to the local shelter in South Korea. He was never claimed and his health started to deteriorate. A rescue pulled him as this shelter euthanizes dogs within 14 days. Hoi is a a he healthy 3 year old, male, 14 lbs, Maltese mix. He has long legs so most likely mixed with poodle. Hoi has utd vaccinations, neutered, Snap 4dx negative, and microchipped. Hoi is very friendly to everyone, no cats as too scary, a bit nervous of dogs and sometimes barks. He is very treat motivated so easy to train. Story
Noodles, a small Poodle cross, came to us recently as an owner surrender from Ottawa. He is approximately 8 lbs and 8 years old. He is a friendly boy who likes people and other dogs.   Noodles has shown no interest in playing with toys. However, he sometimes plays with other small dogs. He is fairly quiet most of the time. He will bark at larger dogs or loud noises. He loves going on walks. He would probably be best suited to living in a house with a fenced in backyard. He would probably do best with an adult or older children. Most of Noodles teeth have been previously removed and his dental will most likely see the remaining teeth extracted.  We feed Noodles twice a day. He is currently eating Royal Canin Adult soft food. Car rides are no problem. When travelling, Noodles is seat belted in and often goes to sleep. He prefers to sleep on the bed with his foster parents and likes to also have a bed on the floor to roll around in. Noodles has been a good boy for grooming. Noodles is housebroken and does not mark. He prefers to go outside rather than use a puppy pad. He is taken outside every couple of hours. If he suddenly jumps up and runs around it is a good cue to get him outside. He is a real trooper and will run out in pouring rain to do his business. Noodles can run down a large bank of stairs, but would have difficulty climbing them due to a luxating patella in his back left knee. He can usually do a few smaller steps, but it would be best to carry him up stairs. It appears that Noodles has a medium heart murmur.  He will be having an ultrasound to determine if he needs meds or not. He has been scratching a little and likes to lick his feet. They are somewhat discoloured and it could possibly be due to an allergy, This will be explored by the rescue. Noodles is a sweet cuddly little boy and would make someone a wonderful pet.    September 30, 2023, 8:49 am

Story
Kyle makes us smile ... this little gem is so sweet and gentle. He seems to like everyone and is never any trouble. Kyle is a 14 year old, 6 pound Maltese and Poodle mix  He is neutered and up-to-date on all his vetting He recently had dental surgery so will requires softened kibble/food ... Kyle loves his food! Kyle is *split second* housetrained ... once he gives his *running to the door* signal, you have a *split second* to notice if you want him to *go* outside.  He loves to be on a lap where he can cuddle and snooze. Despite Kyles age, he seems to have reasonable mobility to walk, and fast trot around. He handles going up stairs really well ... we carry him down any/all stairs. He can't seem to manage going down stairs without tumbling .... not recommended to leave him on a couch or bed unsupervised. He will fall off if he gets to edge Kyle does struggle when grooming face, legs, feet. He eventually does settle  He loves the little bench we setup at the front window...there he will watch the world outside or take a nap. He travels well in the car. He is fine with all medium, small dogs. Meeting new dogs is cause for a huge tail wag, a greeting growl and then no issues.  Large, energetic dogs/pups do make Kyle nervous...he will bark at them. He's a sweet, loyal boy who needs a loving family for his last chapter   September 30, 2023, 8:49 am

Story
"NESTOR", a MALTESE MIX about 3 years old and weight 4 kg. My mother was used as a breeding mare, her owner selling the puppies to whoever offered to pay her price. That is how I ended up keeping company to an elderly lady, who was unable to take me for walks or play with me. She was promised that a maltese is a lazy idle dog, happy to sit on a couch all day without a pip. She was promised a stuffed toy really! Obviously it was no match made in heaven and as the lady grew older still, I was surrendered to SPFG. " NESTOR " is a picture of health, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, also housebroken and leash trained. "NESTOR" is a delight! He is a young, energetic, bold guy, social with other dogs, though he prefers to play with humans and fetch his ball. He is very clever and enjoys being trained. He learned his name in 3 days! He is also very cuddly and affectionate. He would be perfect for any type of family. Story
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces an adorable pair of Morkie sisters, Annabelle and Belle. They are true sisters who are extremely bonded to each other. They are 7 1/2 years old. Annabelle is the larger one weighing 15lb and Belle weighs 10. They are owner surrenders due to the owner's passing. Annabelle and Belle were surrendered to us Oct 29. Their original owner passed away and the caretaker of the dogs was going to euthanize them since their owner had no family and left no provisions. A wonderful Samaritan offered to take them until she could find them a good home. 3 months later, that Samaritan contacted Barks and Meows Rescue to ask if we could take them. She has provided us with information about the,: They are currently eating Hills Science small breed Healthy Mobility. They are so bonded they want to share the same bowl. The girls are highly bonded and do everything together. They do not leave each other's side. Having said that they are very social with wonderful gentle temperaments. They currently live with dogs and cats and are great with them. They are very good with the children they have met that were 6 years old and up. They have a crate and will sleep in it or on the Samaritan's bed. They eat in the crate. They ride well in a vehicle in a crate or without. They are good babies in the bathtub. They are quiet and not nippy at all. There were no medical records but they had rabies tags. We contacted the vet clinic and found out about their birthday and that they had been spayed. The only vaccines they ever received were rabies and they are due now again for the rabies vaccination. The girl's original owner was ill. They never left the inside of the house for two years. They were very overweight when the Samaritan took them into her care. They now have lost a substantial amount of weight which is great news. They will bark when they have to go outside to relieve themselves and are also pee pad trained. They love going for walks and enjoy running through the crunch fall leaves. They are an absolutely adorable pair and it is mandatory that they stay together forever. The ideal home is one where the family members are home a lot as they do enjoy the company. They will snuggle and bed with the family so that would be ideal. They love playing and exploring in the backyards. As they enjoy getting out and going for walks, the family should be able to accommodate this twice daily. They will come with their toys, crate, collars, bowls, and leashes. They will be ready to go to their new home on Nov 4. The girls are spayed, 4dx tested negative, up to date with vaccines and Belle has had a full dental and now has no teeth left. She still eats very well. A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory to apply to adopt this darling duo. The adoption fee for this pair is $700.
