Story
Hello everyone! Meet Apollo and Belle, a bonded senior brother and sister pair looking for a new home after their senior owner could no longer care for them.   Both pups are 14.5 years young.  Apollo appears to be a Maltese/Poodle mix and Belle looks like a little Westie mix.   When they are out and about, everyone tells them how cute they are. Belle is visually impaired but that doesn’t stop her one bit!  She loves to explore the house, and when she gets tired, she will find a soft spot to plop down for a nap.  Belle loves to sniff so her favorite place is outside with her nose in the grass.  She gives her tail a workout as she is a happy little girl! Apollo is very outgoing and loves to walk.  He wants to visit every human or pup he sees!  He is very good with children who want to pet him.  Apollo wants to be close to you so he will hang with you when making dinner or lay next to you in the den while you work.  He does have a grade 4 heart murmur and will require medicine for the rest of his life. Apollo and Belle are working on their potty habits.  They need to wear a doggie wrap/diaper when roaming the house, although their foster mom is working hard to eliminate the need for the wrap/diaper.   They stay in a pen with two small crates when no one is available to watch them.  They keep their pen clean even overnight, so they are learning! We are looking for someone with a BIG heart to adopt these two sweet seniors.  A one-story home is a must for Belle’s safety.  A fenced-in yard would be best for them and easiest on their adopter.  Someone home more often would be needed to continue with their potty training.  They are fine with respectful younger children and a dog savvy cat.  ##2352173##

Story
Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 14 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER!!! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
