Story
Location: TX AlfieMaltese Mix 2 years old 12 pounds Good with dogs: yes Good with kids/cats: Not sure Alfie was found as a stray, surviving on his own for who knows how long. By the time he was rescued, his collar had already started embedding into his skin.. clear proof he had been out there, growing up alone, for far too long.A kind stranger stepped in and got him immediate vet care for his wounds, and gave him a temporary home. He’s just a young boy, less than 2 yrs old, with so much love to give. He adores people, does well with other dogs, and is slowly learning that he’s safe now. ##2726821##

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption Fee: $300 Missy Zelda is available for adoption. She is 9 years old and weighs about 9 pounds. She is in Gainesville, Florida. --- Missy Zelda was an owner surrender, her family was no longer able to take care of her. She came to us in rough shape, but she is better now and ready for the right family to adopt her. She is safe and very much loved in her foster home. --- Missy Zelda does have some long term health issues. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas, causing abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy). It can be triggered by high-fat foods or table scraps. It can be acute or chronic, and may require veterinary care, medications, or hospitalization if she has a flareup. She is stable now, but we have no way of knowing if she will relapse. She also has bad knees (luxating patellas). She can be seen occasionally favoring her left back leg, but it does not seem to bother her right now. Because of her age, we are not looking at surgery for her knees. She also has a heart murmur, grade 3 out of 6. For now we are monitoring it, but eventually she will probably need to be on heart medication. --- When she had her dental, she lost the 9 teeth she had, so she now has no teeth. She does just fine eating soft food. Because she has no teeth, her tongue hangs out of her mouth, and because of that she has a stained look on the right side of her nose. She also licks her feet, so they are stained as well. This is ongoing and will likely always be that way. Also, as yucky as it sounds, she will eat her poop. It can be hard to catch her, but we do our best. There is no real cure for this, the only thing that helps is picking it up right away. --- She is working on her house manners and will have accidents in the home. She was not trained by her previous owners, so she has a lifetime of doing what she wants. She will need patience and consistency. She also has an odd sound when she barks, it sounds more like a little quack. She still has a voice, and the vet does not think she has been debarked. --- We have seen that it can take several weeks for her to adjust to a new home. If you feel Missy Zelda would be a good fit for your family, knowing her health issues and her need for continued training, please fill out the online adoption application. Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. You can help make a difference one dog at a time. If you would like to sponsor one of our babies, we accept online donations via PayPal or send a check to us at P.O. Box 2005, Chattanooga, TN 37409. Story
Opal came to us not spayed and with a couple of mammary masses and a mass in her ovaries. We have since spayed her and had her masses removed and biopsied and all looks good! Eyes will need to be kept on her but she is ready to find her forever home-yay! Opal is suuuuch a sweet girl and loves to snuggle and is great with other dogs. Really we think she could be good with any family!  It would probably be best if Opal was in a home with no stairs-she does not like to be picked up and stairs are a challenge for her. But her fosters have been working with her on this and she is getting better. She may have some arthritis that causes her to really not liked to be picked up and this is the only time she will get grumpy. Other than that she is a sweetie and does great in a car and loves to travel!May 11, 2026, 12:04 pm

Story
Mr. Green is a one-of-a-kind terrier mix with a story that’s as unique as his sweet, soulful eyes. At about two-and-a-half legs strong (yes, you read that right!), this resilient little guy doesn’t let anything slow him down. With one back leg partially intact and the other amputated, he’s adapted beautifully and gets around impressively well, especially with the help of his wheelchair when needed. But what really makes Mr. Green special isn’t just his determination—it’s his heart. He is incredibly people-friendly, great with kids, and does well with other dogs. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, his gentle and affectionate nature shines through in every interaction. Once Mr. Green chooses his person, he becomes your loyal shadow—following you from room to room, always wanting to be by your side. He absolutely lives for love, cuddles, and giving kisses, and there is nothing he enjoys more than curling up next to you after a long day. Mr. Green does have some special medical needs that his future family should be prepared for. He thrives on routine and is currently on a schedule to help him go potty outside, but he can still have occasional accidents. He wears a diaper to help manage this, and while he can urinate outside, he may dribble or have accidents when excited. His wheelchair is an important part of his mobility and daily life.

Story
🐾 Meet Ireland 🐾 Ireland is a gentle little soul who simply wants to be close to someone who loves her. At 9 years old and just 8 pounds, this tiny girl’s favorite place is in your arms or curled up right beside you. 💛 Ireland has very limited vision, and her left eye currently has some drainage that we are keeping a close watch on. Because of her eyesight, she relies on her people for guidance and reassurance. She may need a little extra patience as she navigates her surroundings, but once she feels safe, she is incredibly sweet and loving. Potty training is still a work in progress. Ireland does well when she’s carried outside and someone stays nearby with her, but she will need a home that understands she may need extra help and consistency in this area. Ireland is eating well, gaining weight, and enjoying the comfort of being in a safe foster home. She also has a dental scheduled to address a few teeth that need attention so she can feel her best moving forward. What Ireland needs most is a patient, compassionate adopter who understands that senior dogs sometimes come with a few extra needs — but they also come with some of the biggest hearts. If you’re looking for a quiet companion who just wants to love and be loved, Ireland could be the perfect little shadow for you. 🐶 Ireland’s Details: • 9 years old • 8 lbs • Sweet, affectionate, and loves being held • Limited vision • Dental scheduled • Adoption fee: $150 If you have room in your heart for a special senior who just wants comfort, Ireland is ready to meet you. 💕 📍 Apply to adopt: knoxvintagepetproject.com/adopt
