Sweet as Pie, Loves Hugs, Might be a Bunny! If you are sitting down, Manx for the Memories is in your lap! We need to invent a new word for just how sweet Manx is, because he takes "sweet" to a whole new level. He is a super sweet sweetie pie who literally loves everyone he meets! Are you a human? Then Manx adores you, and will climb into your lap the moment he meets you, if not sooner. Are you a cat? Then Manx loves you, too! He instantly made best buddies with the adult resident cat in his foster home, as well as any co fosters his mama brings home. They play and have the best time together! Are you a toy? Or a comfy bed? Yep, Manx has all the love for toys and a comfy place to nap. He particularly loves to play with rainbow balls and spring toys. And then it's time for that comfy bed - or your lap! And Manx can take all the love he dishes out! He is actually a Manx cat, a tail-free orange tabby boy who is extra cute and fuzzy. Along with being a Manx he was born with Manx Syndrome, which means his spine and spinal nerves didn't develop normally; he needs his human to press gently on his bladder twice a day to "express" it and help him go pee. It is super easy once you get the hang of it, and APA! will show you how! Manx walks a little bit crooked and hops like a bunny, which doesn't bother him a bit, and takes his Cuteness Level to an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10! While Manx requires bladder expressions and the occasional bath, he is all-in for the hugs that follow! He may need some extra medical care, which may include a regulated diet; for more information on how to care for Manx, please contact APA! Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo Manx doesn't know that he's different than any other cat, and he loves his way through life, leading with his big ol' fuzzy heart. We think that being loved by Manx and bonding with him will create some of the sweetest, most cherished memories of a lifetime! Contact us today to learn more and to arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Playful, Inquisitive, Friendly Usagi - lovingly called GiGi in her previous foster home - is a kitten who loves everything and everyone! She plays with the resident adult cat, plus allows her to baby her. She seeks out the sweet 65-lb pitbull to play, and gets both the cat and dog to join in on a fun game of hide and seek! She adores them and they all get along great. And Usagi is so happy and cute, it's hard to resist her. Usagi loves all the toys, as well as running and zooming around the house. Fun fact: "Usagi" means rabbit or hare in Japanese, and this little kitten lives up to her name - she hops like a bunny! Plus, she is a Manx and doesn't have a tail, which gives her a bunny tail. She was born with Manx syndrome, which is where the tail is shortened or absent, and the spine is shortened because it didn't develop properly. As a result, her hind legs didn't develop like a typical cat, but she is able to walk, run, and play like any other kitty! She hops to get around and uses her front legs to steady herself. She gets around just fine, and don't try to tell her any different! She is a happy, curious, independent girl with the heart of an explorer. She's cutest in action! Check out her videos here, and hop over to Facebook for her foster's page: @APAkitcats - https://bit.ly/3ma2lws The Manx syndrome gave Usagi fecal and urinary incontinence, which means you have to help her go pee and poop by pressing on her bladder and bowel a few times during the day. It's called "manual expression" Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo Usagi is a gal with deep thoughts and funny observations, and she likes to tell you about them! She's a chatty girl, always ready to start an interesting conversation with you. Loving, playful, and cheerful, this girl just needs a proper intro to another nice cat and/or friendly pup, and she's ready to embrace them as her family. She may require some extra care, but doing so will create an unshakable bond between you and Usagi, plus she will enrich your life in so many profound ways. Meanwhile, she'll be the cute, friendly, sweet kitty that is her very nature. Contact us today to learn more and arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Usagi, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Affectionate, Snuggly, Social Eden is an equal opportunity cuddler! He lives to share his love, and chilling out and snuggling in your lap is the best way to spend time, in his opinion. But if your lap isn't available, he will cuddle with the other cats in the house - or even the dog! He is a happy boy who loves to purr his joy. Eden is less interested in playing, but you can catch his interest with a wand toy when he's in the mood. Or, he will sometimes zoom and chase the other cats around the house with his signature bunny hop! Eden is a Manx, and as is common with Manx cats, his spine is shortened and didn't develop normally. As a result, he doesn't have a tail and his back legs are wonky - which is why he bunny hops around! He is also incontinent, also common with some Manx cats. Eden needs his human to manually express him about three times a day; he can't "go" on his own. It's pretty straightforward, and doesn't take much time to care for him! Once you get the hang of it, it could take no more than 15 minutes a day; APA! will show you how to manually express Eden and make sure you are comfortable with it. It helps that he's a little champ about it, too! He's been this way since he was born, so it's "normal" for him. Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Check out this video! bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo In addition to being great with cats and dogs (after an intro period), we think that he could be good with older, gentle kids who would love a snuggle buddy! Eden is the perfect cuddle companion. He is always polite and quiet, though he may yell a little bit if he thinks it's overdue for dinner time! Eden has a gray tabby and white coat, crystal clear green eyes, a happy and super affectionate nature, and a big heart full of love he wants to share with you! Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet! Eden requires some extra medical care, which includes manual expression and may include a regulated diet and/or meds, and an occasional booty bath. For more information, please contact APA! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Darci has been returned to LLF April 2022 after her owner's home situation changed and she could no longer keep Darci. Previous owner did not provide any updated vet records, LLF is in the process of vetting Darci. Darci will not be adoptable until a complete exam and vaccines are updated which is scheduled for mid May 2022. In 2020 Darci was brought to Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions in Lago Vista with her brother Marcus. A litter of tiny kittens was found in a rural field. A volunteer foster bottle-fed the kittens until they were ready for shelter life. Darci has beautiful, unique markings and no tail. Darci loves to be petted and is adjusting to being back at the shelter. Darci was adopted with her brother Marcus by previous owner, but her brother escaped and has not been found. Darci has lived with another cat and may be okay with another cat brother or sister.

Story
When Bandit was just six weeks old, in August of 2021, I adopted him. He is loving when he is at ease around particular individuals. Since he prefers a more stable and tranquil atmosphere, children tend to overstimulate him. I wish to locate him a devoted home with understanding owners.

These pups are in Austin, Texas too!

Story
Curious, Energetic, Silly Cat Rose is too adventurous to be a lapcat! She can't help but feed into her curious nature, and can usually be found poking her nose into some nook or cranny with her adorable little nub tail sticking up in the air! Luckily, her explorations are non-destructive and for research purposes only. Cat Rose just likes to know what's hiding inside drawers or places she can't usually reach! If she isn't nosing around, Cat Rose eagerly finds a toy or sock to play with! She is full of energy, and will interact with most anything to use up some of it! Cat Rose adores getting attention from her humans, and pets and being held are definitely high on her list! She winds down at night, and prefers to sleep alongside her humans rather than roam the house alone. While she hasn't been able to settle down for long cuddles during the day, she does seem to reserve that peaceful energy for nighttime snuggles - so there may be hope yet! Contact APA! today to scoop this energetic cutie up and adopt Cat Rose into your family! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Cat Rose, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Friendly, Easy-going, Gregarious In Omnia Paratus is a snuggly boy who will be the king of your heart. He is a chill and very affectionate kitty. In Omnia Paratus is a big fan of napping, and his favorite spots range from your lap to the window! His favorite nap position is burying his head in your arm and sleeping as soundly as a baby. In Omnia Paratus is also extremely handsome (as you can tell) and is just waiting for his very own loving home! He prefers a more quiet household that he can roam around in with confidence. In Omnia Paratus would be okay living with dogs and other cats as long as they don't invade his personal space and also share a chill vibe. In Omnia Paratus has sensitive eyes, so he will need eye drops consistently. All in all, this gorgeous boy would thrive in a calm home with people to give him all of the love that he deserves! In Omnia Paratus has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. In Omnia Paratus can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Story
Cuddly, Sleepy angel, Goofy Even if you're not a fan of Broadway, you're sure to be a lover of Broadway Kid! Unlike Bernadette Peters, Broadway Kid doesn't sing at the top of her lungs. This Broadway beauty only meows when she wants some pets or food. Whether you work from home or are on-site at a nine-to-five, this kitty will be the perfect companion. She loves to sit in your lap if you're around but also enjoys her solo nap time. While you're away, you can trust that she's only tearing up her toys. And you don't have to worry about her getting on the counter because her cutely-chubby tummy doesn't much allow it! While she may take some time to warm up to you, once she trusts you, she'll wiggle her nub of a tail when you get home - she is an American Bobtail mix with the bobtail to prove it! She's also prone to running over to her humans with an endearing and funny little jog. Broadway Kid tolerated another cat in her previous home, but didn't love her; as far as the previous resident dog, she disliked him. She would likely thrive best as your one and only cutie! Contact us today to schedule an audition with Broadway Kid! Broadway Kid has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter lifespan. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat.
