Story
He is my sweet boy. But we have had him since a pup. And he has not been able to connect with our 2 other dogs or any of our cats. I still don't feel safe with my children around him if I'm not right next to him. He has never bitten anybody but does growl. Thor is pretty lazy, but does like to play with his favorite toy. He has been trained for 10 weeks when he was a puppy so he can sit, shake, lay down. If he gets mouthy you can tell him gentle and he will definitely calm down. He's a big dog about 180 pounds and does drool and shed.

Story
They call me a purebred "Bully" but all I want is your love. Athena had been brought in to Lodi Animal Services as a stray with her boyfriend. Her owners were made aware that they were in the shelter but refused to take Athena back. Her previous owner had bred her many, many times and sold all of her puppies for profit. He refused to pick her up when he picked up the other dog because she is now too old (at 4 years young). Over the course of four years Athena was neglected and used as an incubator for her previous owner's pocket. She was past her prime and all used up. Check out Athena's cutest moments in her playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwmfTKLWdExr_tb3wSORm49t While in foster care, Athena has begun to learn what real love is. She now lives inside in a nice warm house, she is receiving the proper nutrition (when dropped off at Animal Services she was notably skinny with all her ribs showing), and being socialized through close proximity to other dogs, or seeing them on nice long walks. Athena has also benefited by work with her foster mom as she is a dog trainer for fearful dogs. She loves to cuddle and spend time on the couch. Athena has the cutest motorcycle bark that sounds like a motorcycle engine flooding. She truly is such a sweet girl once you build even a little trust with kindness and treats. Athena prefers female humans and male dogs, but warms up to both male humans and female dogs as well with some love and patience. When she first arrived in foster care, she would cower when the resident man was in the room. After a couple weeks of love and patience, she was cuddled up so sweetly with him on the couch. When first meeting new dogs she can be a bit of a jerk, but with slow introductions to calm males she does amazing. She has made fast friends with fellow foster Liam, a male of similar size and they are absolutely the cutest pair. Athena has now been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated and is ready to go home. She is looking for her forever home with a family that will love her for her. Athena is now crate trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash but is very excited (likely she was never been walked in her previous living situation). She is otherwise a chill couch potato who is looking for a loving home to finally relax in. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for private and/or group training at no additional cost to help ensure a successful adoption. To meet Athena, fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Once an application is filled out, our volunteers will reach out to you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.

Story
This big guy is Dutch. He is about 3 years of age. He was originally a stray in Lathrop, but no owner came forward. He weighs 76 pounds and is incredibly friendly. He gets along well with other dogs. Since we don't know his history, we don't know how he does around kids, but we suspect he would do great just because he is so sweet. Of course because of his size, he would be able to knock over little ones if he wasn't careful. This great dog is fully vaccinated, neutered and ready to go home. If you would love to welcome this big boy into your home, please apply. His adoption donation is $250.00. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Tommy ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a boy! 💙 HOW OLD ARE YOU? Somewhere between 1-2yrs old WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Mastiff mix HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? About 100 pounds WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m tan with a black mask and it looks like I’m wearing eyeliner. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like all food so far, but especially Nubz and the homemade treats my foster mom makes. They are delicious! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m a little timid (typical of my breed) toward new things and people but once I’m comfortable, I’m just a big ole teddy bear. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY I make sure I eat my breakfast first thing when I get up. Followed by a nap. Then a walk, I do love a good walk. And I love playing with my 4-legged foster brother who is almost the same size that I am. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? All of them, but especially my bones, like a Nylabone, Benebone or a good sturdy Kong. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know sit, shake and down. I also know where my bed is if you tell me to go to my bed and I’m working on stay. WHAT SCARES YOU? Something’s like loud noises can scare me but with you by my side, I’m good to go! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I’m a bigger dude. I think children 12 and older would be best. Because like I said, I’m a big dude. DO YOU LIKE CATS? No cats for me… HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love, love, love other dogs. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Oh, I do you love to lay on the couch next to my human. I pretty much like to do whatever you like to do. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m a perfectly healthy boy! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, pit bull brother and a human uncle. I love all of them. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I dig my crate. It’s like a man cave! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Also in my crate! 😴 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love walks! I’m very well-mannered both walking alone and with my brother. I especially like watching all the kids walk to school and watching them play soccer at the nearby park. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I’m sometimes scared of new people and things and cling to my foster mom and bark, but I’m getting better. I’m also a puppy and learning how to play…I guess that can be a little much for some people with my size. But, I’m a good guy. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes I am!! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I was able to play with the hose before a bath one time, that was a lot of fun! And bath time was so relaxing-I’ll do spa day anytime! As for sprinklers…I’m not sure about them yet. They’re a little intimidating. 😂 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love them and they treat me great! Having another dog to play with is everything. And I think he likes me too. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I don’t really remember any of that. Because life is so wonderful now, it’s about moving forward and not looking back. ⭐️TOMMY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300⭐️ If you are interested in TOMMY please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. I am a big goofball! I don't know my size, so I shouldn't be for children under 10 years of age since it is to easy for me to knock a child down with just a tail wag! I love food! and I love to do fun activities outdoors and would be a fun hiking or trail buddy! I want to be someones best bud! Despite being abused, someone poured acid on me to hurt me! I still have a smile on my face. My scars might make me look scary, but I promise I am a gentle soul! we highly recommend training classes to help better understand the canine-human connection and create a positive connection for correction and reward during a young dogs crucial training and socialization period. █ 1 █ Must complete an application as the first step https://form.jotform.com/81702264428152 █████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ We make no guarantee about the compatibility of a dog/cat with the other people in your household or with your animals.
