Story
Bear`s 4 Night Safe and Sound Sleepover 5/11-5/15:Bear had a sleepover with us on May 11-15th while construction was being done at the shelter and he was a pure joy from the start. He has impeccable house manners, he was obviously trained and loved dearly in his past. He is good in the car and just jumped right in. We brought him outside for a fun bath and he stayed still and was very content. He is very polite when meeting new people and does not jump up on them or bark. Bear is happy chilling anywhere. He’ll lay outside in the sun if you need to get work done, and he’s just as happy to be at your feet when you’re watching tv. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He is okay being left alone for a few hours at a time and does not chew or rip things up. He loves car rides, but loves his walks even more. He gets so happy and runs in circles when you bring out his leash. He doesn’t pull and will stay right by your side. He is not bothered by squirrels, birds, or other dogs. If someone wanted to pet him, he was more than happy to let them. He took a trip to Lazy Dog, which is a restaurant where you can take your dog and sit and eat on the patio. He had no problem with the other dogs there. He sat right under the table and was not a beggar or barker. He loved when people called him cute and gave him pets. He is very respectful of boundaries and furniture. He won’t jump on beds or couches without your command. If you need some space he will stay on your side of the bed without a problem. He does not snore and does not like the mornings either, so he was the perfect sleeping buddy! We can’t wait for him to find his forever home soon!Bear`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Tim Pantle

Story
Grizelda is a 5 year old, 75 pound mastiff mix looking for her forever home! This sweet girl loves belly rubs, making new friends, chasing toys, and zooming happily through the grass. She’s also a smart cookie who enjoys puzzle feeders and other activities that challenge her mind.Grizelda has a bright, friendly personality and adores everyone she meets! However, she can be a little head-shy and sensitive to stern voices, so she’s looking for a patient, gentle home where she can feel safe and build confidence at her own pace. In return, she’ll reward you with love, loyalty, and plenty of joyful moments. Her ideal home will provide both mental and physical enrichment, along with lots of kindness and affection. If you’re ready to give Grizelda the comfort and care she deserves, she just might be your perfect match!Grizelda will need to return to us at a later date for a procedure called an FHO (femoral head ostectomy), which will help address her current orthopedic condition and improve her long-term comfort and mobility. In the meantime, we feel it’s very beneficial for her to begin settling into a home environment. Building a bond with her adopters ahead of surgery can make a big difference in reducing stress and supporting a smoother recovery process afterward. To help prepare her for surgery and recovery, we recommend starting gentle PROM (passive range of motion) exercises at home on her unaffected (“good”) leg. This will help her get used to handling and movement, which will be an important part of her rehabilitation after surgery. Our team is happy to demonstrate these exercises and answer any questions so you feel confident doing them.We will coordinate closely with you regarding timing for her return, surgery, and post-operative care.Grizelda`s adoption fee has been sponsored in memory of Miles of Smiles!I don`t have a history with dogs and may do well with yours with a proper introduction.I don`t have a history with cats and may do well with yours with a slow introduction. I don`t have a history with children and may do well with proper management.

Story
Meet Bocephus, a sweet and affectionate boy who loves attention and spending time with his favorite people. Bocephus has some basic training, including sit and wait, and he is eager to learn more. He enjoys going out for walks and playing in the yard. While he can be a little shy in new environments, once he feels comfortable, he shows off his playful and silly personality. Bocephus can get excited during playtime and may jump up on people. For this reason, we are requiring that any children in the home be 10 years old or older while he continues to learn manners. He may get along with other calm dogs with slow and proper introductions. Bocephus is ready to find a loving home where he can continue to grow, learn, and share his affectionate nature with the right family.Adoption Price: $200Adoption Fee Waived!
