Story
Hello everyone! I’m Brody! I’m 2 years old and have been told I’m a total meat head. I also don’t fully understand how big I am, but I’m learning. Everyone thinks I’m a mastiff/pit bull mix because I’m such a beefcake, but we haven’t done the DNA yet. I’ve got a big ole head with a giant heart to match. I like to go on walks and play in the water, but I’m also happy to enjoy a lazy afternoon. I currently am looking for a foster or a forever home. Previously I was in a foster home with 2 foster canine siblings. I am in boarding with my trainer and meet new dogs regularly, I also go on daily pack walks. I absolutely love dogs! I share toys with other dogs and have so much fun together. My favorite toy in the whole wide world is the Jolly Ball and I love to play chase and catch! There was a feline friend in my previous foster home, but he lived separately through gates and I was very respectful of him and the gates. Earlier this year I suffered a freak impalement accident, I am told I died and my amazing vets brought me back to life. I am all healed up now, however I was stuck at home for months isolated while I recovered from my injuries. As a result I can be unsure when meeting some new people, but we are working on building my confidence with some awesome trainers. I warm up very quickly though and am very loyal and loving. I’d love a home that is patient, confident and experienced. I need someone who is willing to work with me to help build my confidence and work on my socialization skills. I’m crate trained, know all of my basic obedience commands, walk nicely on a leash, am house trained and would love a mentor dog in my new home that can show me the ropes and will cuddle with me. I’m fully vetted, neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped and looking for my forever family. Story
For more information, contact volunteer Mike at  mike@unitedhopeforanimals.org #A5596808 Lobo is a jumbo sized dog with a big heart and a lot of love to give! At 110 pounds he’s one of the biggest dogs at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, and he needs a strong handler because he does pull on leash and hasn’t had much training. We think he’s a German Shepherd mixed with something bigger, maybe a Great Pyrenees or a Mastiff. He doesn’t like harsh corrections (yelling No, for example) so for training he needs positive reinforcement and encouragement to learn what he needs to know. He loves treats so that will help him learn quickly too. One of our volunteer’s favorite dogs, Lobo deserves a great life with daily exercise, playtime and affection as a valued indoor dog. -   Adorable floppy ears -   Tan and black, big head and huge paws! -   About 2 years old, neutered male -   Came as an owner surrender on December 1, so he needs out! -   Shows signs of housebreaking and already knows Sit -   OK with other Large Dogs -   Recommended for Gentle/Dainty playgroup -   Health waiver required for mass on abdomen (shelter says likely benign) LOBO’S VIDEO:    https://youtube.com/shorts/6-0GfgfcKrA ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below. Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.February 14, 2024, 1:53 pm
