Story
Moose is the best name possible for this big boy considering he's as big as one! Talk about a GENTLE GIANT! He is your typical mastiff that is cool, calm and collected in any scenario. He NEVER makes a peep and just goes with the flow with everything you throw at him. He walked some of the parade and that was probably a week's worth of exercise to this lazy butt LOL! He loves going outside for about 10 mins then he's ready to come right back in, find a good spot on the floor and take a good, long nap. He is so patient and kind and would be phenomenal in a house with kids of any age. They can lay all over him or roll around the floor with him and it's not going to bother him in the slightest. As long as he's getting pet, he's one happy camper! He does awesome on a leash and even for his big size, a child could easily walk him since he stays in a heel position and never once pulls! He NEVER potties in his kennel so he is more than likely very house trained! He does fantastic with most dogs as long as they are as chill as him. He doesn't care much for dogs that are hyper and after him to play all the time since he's more of a couch potato! His adoption fee is $275 and this will include his DAPPV booster, deworming, current flea/tick, neuter, 1 year Rabies vaccine, heartworm test and a microchip. Please call 618-833-4915 to come meet him! Thank you! Are you interested in adopting this pet? Please click here: https://form.jotform.com/210158338747157 and fill out an application. Story
This playful girl is the perfect mix of affection and independence! Birdie adores belly rubs, cuddles, and of course, treats! She is very treat motivated which makes training fun and rewarding. She is housebroken and enjoys spending time with her people but she is also independent enough to relax on her own. Birdie knows how to sit and is learning other commands. She is currently working on her leash manners, and still has other basics to refine, but she learns fast and actually enjoys training. Birdie does have a prey drive, so a home without cats or small dogs is going to be the safest fit. And lets be honest — Boerboels are not your casual 'first dog' breed. They are powerful protection dogs by nature and you need to understand what comes with owning a dog like her. The good news? They are phenomenal family companions when they have structure and Birdie has been nothing but gentle and sweet with her entire foster family. If you are experienced with large working breeds and want a smart, loyal, fun dog to add to your family, Birdie is your girl. A local trainer, who is actually her foster parent, is offering free training lessons to whoever adopts her, because we all want to set her and her new family up for success from day one. Birdie is one year old and weighs 112 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
Sweet Baby Ray lives up to his saucy name in every possible way. He soaks up attention like it’s his life’s calling, greeting anyone who looks his way with a bright, eager spark. Food motivated to a heroic degree, he’ll happily showcase his best moves for a snack, and he keeps his space tidy like a little gentleman. His days are a blend of friendly greetings, playful bursts, and goofy antics that feel like tiny celebrations. He’s the kind of dog who turns ordinary moments into warm, waggy ones, always ready to charm his way into another cuddle or game.

Story
Meet Chili Mac!    This 11-month-old Cane Corso is a big, lovable goofball with a heart as giant as his paws! Chili Mac is equal parts cuddle bug and class clown — he’ll make you laugh one minute and melt into your lap the next.   He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he decides you’re cool, he’s all in! He’s great with dogs big and small (seriously — from 6 lbs to 120 lbs!), crate and potty trained, and already knows some basic commands.   Due to Chili Mac's size and clumsiness, he would do best in a home with older children. He would also be best with someone who has breed/guardian experience given some mouthy behaviors which are normal for the breed.   Chili Mac would love an active home with another dog friend or a human adventure buddy. Whether you’re hiking, road-tripping, or just lounging on the couch- as long as you don’t mind a little drool, he’s ready to be your ride-or-die!    If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Our $295 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 12, 2025, 2:35 pm
