After being seized from a cruelty case where she was bred, abused, and neglected, this sweet girl spent eight long months behind shelter bars. It’s a past no living creature deserves—but Veronica refuses to let it define her. Despite everything she has been through, Veronica is incredibly gentle, sweet, and loving. She has a forgiving heart and simply wants to be close to her people. She walks beautifully on a leash, loves to curl up on a soft bed, and is a total pro at home (she's both house-trained and crate-trained!). Veronica has waited long enough for her happy ending. ✨Brutus✨ 🎂 Approximate birthday: 2/3/14 🦴 Breed: Mix breed - maybe Mastiff/Pit ⚖️ Weight: approximately 94 pounds 💔 This poor guy came in underweight, and no owner ever came forward. He’s gained his weight but now needs to find a retirement home. He is deaf so he absolutely needs a fenced yard and someone who knows how to work with dogs that are deaf. Brutus is an XL breed, and he absolutely needs someone with experience with the caring for them, and their strength. 🐶 He does seem to like other dogs, but due to his size, strength, and being deaf he will not be allowed in a home with smaller dogs. 👧 He has been fine with our dog savvy kid tester. Ashton’s 8 years and has always been around animals since she was born. So, you can always bring your kiddos to meet in person. PLEASE NOTE - Due to his size we will not allow him in a home with children under 12 years unless they’ve had XL dogs previously. 🐱 He has not been tested yet. ✅ He is fully vetted now. 🫀🪱 He is heartworm positive 💔, and we do keep him on monthly preventative for the slow kill method. Anyone interested in adopting must have a plan with their veterinarian for future treatment/prevention. 💲His adoption fee is $175 which includes neuter, vaccinations (Rabies, parvo/distemper/lepto, and kennel cough), heartworm test, heartworm prevention while in our care, and microchip. 🏡 Apply to give him a furever home through our online application https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MKY/Dog 🪪 We require a valid driver's license for background check. 😍 We do not have any pull fees for approved rescues! All adoption applications and interviews must be completed in person at the facility after meeting the animal. All unaltered animals are required to be spayed/neutered by the adopter's veterinarian by the date indicated on the animal's adoption contract. We adopt animals out within a 3 hour radius from our Benton, KY facility.
