His longtime companion Duchess began struggling with his rough play, and both were returned. Now Duke is confused, grieving, and howling in his kennel, trying to make sense of it all. This big boy has been through a lot. He’s an oversized puppy at heart — full of love, full of energy, and desperate to connect. He wants to make you happy. He just needs someone who understands that big dogs sometimes come with big feelings and big needs. What Duke Needs:   - A home with no dogs under 75 lbs   - A committed adopter willing to go through our training program   - An experienced handler who understands escape artists and can keep him safe   - Patience, structure, and a whole lot of love   Duke isn’t for everyone. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Storm came to us from a local shelter and has been an absolute joy to care for. She is the perfect blend of everything we love about the Cane Corso breed—affectionate, calm, loyal, and incredibly intelligent. A Corso experienced handler would be a plus, but she’s eager to please and bonds deeply with her people. She enjoys quiet companionship, steady routines, and will make a wonderful addition to a home that appreciates a gentle giant. ✨Brutus✨ 🎂 Approximate birthday: 2/3/14 🦴 Breed: Mix breed - maybe Mastiff/Pit ⚖️ Weight: approximately 94 pounds 💔 This poor guy came in underweight, and no owner ever came forward. He’s gained his weight but now needs to find a retirement home. He is deaf so he absolutely needs a fenced yard and someone who knows how to work with dogs that are deaf. Brutus is an XL breed, and he absolutely needs someone with experience with the caring for them, and their strength. 🐶 He does seem to like other dogs, but due to his size, strength, and being deaf he will not be allowed in a home with smaller dogs. 👧 He has been fine with our dog savvy kid tester. Ashton’s 8 years and has always been around animals since she was born. So, you can always bring your kiddos to meet in person. PLEASE NOTE - Due to his size we will not allow him in a home with children under 12 years unless they’ve had XL dogs previously. 🐱 He has not been tested yet. ✅ He is fully vetted now. 🫀🪱 He is heartworm positive 💔, and we do keep him on monthly preventative for the slow kill method. Anyone interested in adopting must have a plan with their veterinarian for future treatment/prevention. 💲His adoption fee is $175 which includes neuter, vaccinations (Rabies, parvo/distemper/lepto, and kennel cough), heartworm test, heartworm prevention while in our care, and microchip. 🏡 Apply to give him a furever home through our online application https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MKY/Dog 🪪 We require a valid driver's license for background check. 😍 We do not have any pull fees for approved rescues!
