Story
Maggie is a 6 year old Rottweiler mastiff mix with a lot of personality and a lazy girl spirit. Maggie loves snuggling and scratches! She’s a loyal dog with a loving disposition, but due to my housing circumstances I am unable to keep her. She would do well on a farm or an area that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic, although she has lived in the heart of town for her whole life so could handle being in that environment. She deserves a patient owner who can spend time with her. She gets along fine with other animals and people, but her nature is to protect. The adoption fee is negotiable, I just want the right people to take her in.

Hi. Yes. Hello. It is I — Magnolia, professional Velcro dog and full-time squish. If you’re looking for personal space… I’m probably not your girl. If you’re looking for a 100-pound (ish 😉) brindle shadow who believes “next to you” is the only correct place to be? Perfect. I LIVE for together time. My favorite activity is simply existing beside my people. Couch? I’m there. Yard? I’m there. Bathroom? I mean… I can be there. I’m what they call a gentle giant. Heavy on the gentle. Also occasionally heavy on the “oops I forgot I’m built like a small horse.” I may lovingly bump into you, the wall, the coffee table, and possibly the air itself. It’s all part of my charm. Speaking of charm — when I run, I don’t just run. I gallop. Big dramatic strides like a majestic brindle stallion charging across the plains (or the backyard). I’ll do a few joyful jogging laps, bounce around sniffing everything, check in to make sure you’re still watching me, and then I’m ready for… you guessed it… SNUGGLES. I do have some special talents: *Leaving impressive ropes of slobber on your arm. You’re welcome. *Creating large, abstract wet art pieces on your clothing. *Sitting politely outside the door and staring through the window if you leave me. I will wait. Patiently. Sadly. Dramatically. I sleep nicely in my kennel overnight, wake up, go potty, have breakfast, and then immediately resume my position next to my humans. Routine is great — as long as it includes togetherness. I’ll politely let you know if I feel alone (I have thoughts and I share them). Being by myself? Least favorite. Being with you? Absolute best. I love playtime and walks! I enjoy toys too, but stuffed ones need supervision because sometimes I mistake them for snacks. Oops. I bounce around like a joyful moose, then trot back to make sure my person is still there. You are, right? Good. Just checking. I can be a tiny bit head shy if hands come down from above, but I always want the pets. Once I know what’s happening, I melt into full squish mode. So if you’re ready for: ✔️ A brindle beauty ✔️ A slobbery cuddle expert ✔️ A galloping backyard superstar ✔️ A loyal “where you go, I go” best friend … I’m your Magnolia — big heart, big strides, big love. 💕

Story
Starburst is a Mastiff/Rottweiler mix puppy and—oh boy—is she adorable! From her suuuuper soft ears to her playful puppy energy, she’s the kind of pup that’s hard to walk away from. Starburst came from an accidental litter in Texas and is still learning about the world. She can be a little shy at first, but she’s already doing well with the dogs in her foster home and is starting to come out of her shell. Like any young puppy, Starburst is still learning her manners. She’s currently working on potty training and getting used to spending time in her kennel. She can be a bit vocal if she’s left alone in a room, and she’s also in that curious puppy stage where chewing on things she shouldn’t is bound to happen if she is left alone. Because of this, Starburst will do best with a family that has the time and patience to guide her through the puppy stage and help her grow into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. With consistency, love, and a little training, this sweet girl will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, playtime, and watching a shy little girl grow in confidence, Starburst might be the perfect addition to your family. Starburst is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/21/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Pezz is the absolute definition of puppy dog eyes, what a heart-melter! He is on his way to find a loving family where he can truly blossom into the intelligent, fun, affectionate companion that he's sure to become. He will vocalize a bit while in the kennel, is mostly potty trained, and likes other dogs. He is little, so will need safe introductions to all the new things he will encounter in the world. Pezz would appreciate another dog in the home that he can look to for guidance as he grows more accustomed to life in a home! He can be a little cautious at first so patience and taking it slow will be important for him. Pezz does great in the car, is familiar with the crate, seems to like to swim, play fetch and run around with toys! He loves a warm lap to get cuddles and love while resting, then he's ready to jump back in for more play. Could Pezz be your new best friend? Pezz is from Texas. Story
Stan. Ohhhh, Stan. You sweet, slightly clueless, big-hearted goofball. Stan is a gentle giant with the sweetest soul. He loves playing with other dogs and does great with kids. He is basically a toddler in a dog’s body — which is why he needs sturdy kids who won’t topple over when he forgets how large he is. Personal space isn't really his thing though - if you have hands, Stan believes they're meant for petting him. Don't be surprised if a curious nose nudges your elbow off the desk so he can get some love. He’s almost potty trained… emphasis on “almost.” He understands the concept. He supports the idea. He just occasionally makes independent decisions. With a little consistency (and maybe a celebratory parade when he gets it right), he’ll nail it. Cats make him a little shy, but mostly curious. He's not looking to cause trouble - just respectfully trying to figure out what those tiny staring creatures are all about. He met one calm resident dog and immediately decided, “You. We are best friends now.” Zero hesitation. Even when other dogs are feeling spicy, Stan simply walks by like the polite gentleman he is. With his gentle nature and goofy charm, Stan is ready to be someone's perfectly imperfect best boy.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 plus taxI'm so very pleased to meet you!  I'm good with kids and love other dogs. I like to spend my days busying myself with toys and doggie chewies.  I like to stay active too by running and playing in the yard.  However, I usually fit a few naps into my day as well.  After all, who doesn't like a nap?  I'm learning what potty pads are and that I really should go outside to do my dirty business but it takes time to establish those habits.  I love to cuddle with my humans too. I'm searching for a fabulous forever home to share my life and love with! Do you want a great friend to join your family?  Well, adopt me and let's start making lasting memories together!  * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //
