You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ms. Sunny is a 100lb, spayed Mastiff. She is a little over 2yrs old. Sunny is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home. Her current owners need to surrender due to her not getting along with an older female dog in the home. She also lives with a younger female dog and does fine with that dog, but for some reason has not been getting along with the 8yr old female. Sunny has been around cats, will chase them, but has never attacked or hurt one. Sunny has been around children and does great, just doesn't know her size and probably do best with older children so she doesn't unknowingly knock littles down. Sunny does have some separation anxiety and has started Prozac for this. Sunny can be standoffish to unknow adults who enter the home, especially adult men. Said to be more skittish with adult men then aggressive, barks and hides behind her owners. She has never bitten any humans. Looking to get her into a foster-based rescue as she would likely shut down in a shelter-type setting. Please email or fill out interest form! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tula originally arrived at our shelter from the city pound on Dec. 1, 2024. She was adopted soon after and has lived in that home for almost 2 years. Her family dynamic has changed, and Tula has been facing some adjustment issues. Because of this, she is now looking for a new home in which she can be the only dog. Tula is now around 3 years old and weighs close to 80 pounds. Her DNA test showed that mastiff is her main breed, but she also mixed with many others like lab and German shepherd. Tula has been fully vetted, is microchipped, and her fee is $150. Tula is currently staying with her adopters while she waits for a new home. Tula absolutely adores people and is happy and loving. She truly wants to be the center of someone's world and willingly makes her people the center of hers. She has had some basic training. She does pretty well on leash and will need a lot of regular exercise. She's a strong girl who thinks of herself as a lap dog. She's up for any adventure! Tula has done well with all the people that she meets. She has done okay with well mannered male dogs but really would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Smaller animals are a no for her. This beautiful girl would make a wonderful, loyal companion! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. 6-18-26: Great Update on Helen, from one of our staff members!! New pictures included from her home visit…. Our awesome Kari took Helen for a day trip away from the shelter, here is what she had to say:Helen is such a sweet and fun girl. She did great in the car and loved walks and just being outside in the fresh air. She would walk well on a leash when there were no distractions, but would pull pretty hard when she saw squirrels/bunnies or other dogs. She was more active than I thought she would be, wanting to stay outside sniffing around. Helen is a gentle giant, she was down and depressed for the longest time upon arrival and has been here for over two months and is starting to come into her own and show her true colors.04/10/26: Check out Helen!This chunky girl came to PCHS when she wandered onto a property where she did not belong just outside of Spring Valley. The property owners held onto her for a few days while having her scanned for a microchip and looking for her owners. They were unable to find out who she belonged to, so she came to us. We then kept her through her stray hold and we also could not locate her owners. So now, sweet Helen is looking for a new home to call her own. Helen is estimated to be some sort of mastiff mix and is thought to be around 6 years old. She is a bit on the `thick` side, and the vet recommended she loose 10-12 pounds. She currently weighs 109 pounds but a more ideal weight for her would be just under 100. She is a quiet girl who is looking for a home where she can lounge with her people, bask in the morning sun, and go for leisurely walks. She did not get along with the finders female dog. She may do okay with a submissive male dog, but we would want to do a meet and greet to be sure. It is unknown how she would be with cats or kids. They are good with other dogs and people, and cats are unknown.
