He’s the definition of go-with-the-flow and is known to get along wonderfully with other dogs—he truly enjoys their company. Young and eager to learn, Jello is soaking up new experiences and would do especially well with an active family ready to include him in daily life. He came into rescue from a hoarding situation in Texas, so while he’s naturally calm and affectionate, he’ll continue to benefit from positive experiences and gentle guidance as he builds confidence. One of his most endearing habits? Jello likes to bury his treats and toys, only to dig them up the next day—sometimes just to admire them, sometimes to play or snack. He’s got an impressive memory and clearly knows exactly where he left his treasures. A quick heads-up: Jello does get car sick, but otherwise he’s an easy companion who’s ready to learn, bond, and grow with his people. If you’re looking for a mellow, loving pup with a playful streak and a big heart, Jello might be the perfect addition to your family. Jello is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 02/20/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Meet Zeus – Your Gentle Giant 💙 Zeus is a handsome, extra-large Mastiff mix (possibly with some wirehair flair!) who’s patiently waiting to find his forever home. Weighing in at a big 96 lbs, Zeus may look imposing, but he’s truly a gentle giant with a soft heart and a happy-go-lucky personality that shines once he feels comfortable. Zeus is a sweetheart who loves his people, enjoys going for nice walks, and is always up for snuggling with his favorite humans. He can be a bit shy around men at first, as shared by his previous owner, but with patience and kindness he warms up and shows just how loving he really is. He has a great training foundation and is eager to please. Zeus knows sit, down, and come, is kennel trained, and house trained. Staff say he is well-mannered and has a great start with obedience, though he’s still learning his size and may jump occasionally. Continued training and positive reinforcement will help him keep growing into the polite gentleman we know he can be. Zeus does have a sensitive stomach, so a special diet is a must to keep his tummy happy. He is also a chewer, so providing appropriate chew toys will be important to help him stay entertained and make good choices. He gets along well with other dogs, while his compatibility with cats is currently unknown. 📅 Please note: Zeus will not be available for adoption until after 01/28/26, but he is worth the wait! Pot Roast is a big, lovable loaf of a Mastiff mix, tipping the scales at around 80 lbs of pure goof and heart. After being abandoned, a kind person stepped in to help him, but ultimately couldn’t provide the care he needed—so Pot Roast found his way to the shelter. He’ll soon be undergoing much-needed eye surgery to repair wounds and address genetic eye lid issues that went untreated, and he’s already showing just how resilient and trusting he is. Despite everything, Pot Roast is a very happy lug who greets life with a wagging tail and a big smile. This gentle giant could use some basic manners (he may not realize just how big he is!), but his love for people is undeniable. He truly seems to adore everyone he meets and would thrive with a family willing to help him heal, learn, and enjoy the good life he’s always deserved. Doug 4.5yr Shep/Mastiff mix Male. $200 plus tax, 75lbs. Very sweet boy! Absolutely adores toys of any kind. Bit food picky, he says he just wants the good stuff! New to the shelter, prior was around other dogs but we would like a meet and greet just to make sure everyone gets along! Currently in a play group with a smaller female dog and absolutely loves her. Unk with kids. Met a few cats and seemed more scared of them than they were of him! Adoption fee is $200 plus tax. We do our very best in providing truthful information about our adoptable dogs. If you do not see information about one of our dogs’ personalities, it is because we do not know much about them yet. We do appreciate a dog meet and greet to see if the dogs are compatible, an appointment is helpful but not required. We can complete a cat introduction at the shelter in a safe manner to get a sense of the dog’s behavior towards cats. With that knowledge, we will provide a blanket statement that you are ultimately responsible for keeping your cat safe. We recommend crate training for all our dogs while they adjust to a new home environment. Please bring along your family to meet the dog you’re looking at to see that it is a good fit. Also bring landlord permission for adopting a dog which includes any breed or weight restrictions.
