Story
🚗 Meet Car Jacker, aka CJ! 🚗CJ earned his name in the most CJ way possible: he spotted a random car with the door open, hopped right in, and firmly decided, "Yep. This is my ride now." 😂This 6-year-old Mastiff mix is almost 100 lbs of gentle, low-key real estate. 🐻💕 CJ is calm, never overly energetic, and would much rather lounge around than participate in any unnecessary cardio. He needs to be the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats. CJ also experiences separation anxiety, so his future family will need to understand his needs and be willing to work with him as he learns that being alone is okay. ❤️Interestingly, CJ seems especially comfortable and relaxed when he's outside sunbathing. ☀️😎 Maybe he's not looking for a chauffeur after all. Maybe he just wants a nice patio. And this big guy has some credentials! 🎓🐾 CJ graduated from basic manners training with 2 Speak Dog, so he's ready to keep putting those good-boy skills to use.If you're looking for a giant, mellow companion with a hilarious backstory and a serious appreciation for sunshine, CJ might just be your guy. 🚗☀️🐾 Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 91 Age: 6yrs 7mths 3wks

She's spayed and has such a sweet personality. Azula is very bright and food motivated, which makes training not just easy but fun. She's also great on walks considering her size, and would do well with a family who can give her the attention she deserves. If you think she might be a good fit for your home, feel free to reach out!

Story
Don’t let the name fool you, this Saltine is very sweet! She is a house-trained, crate-trained, dog-friendly, and low-energy love bug. Her tail is always wagging and she is extra polite, asking for permission before jumping on the couch or into bed to cuddle. Saltine loves walks and all things outdoors. She will happily bounce over to the front door when you grab her leash. She was the star of her foster mom’s party last weekend, with all the guests not so subtly hinting that the foster should adopt her because she is PERFECT. While that’s not in the cards for her foster family, they absolutely love her and confirm she is the easiest dog to take care of that they’ve ever hosted. Saltine promises that you will fall in love with her as soon as you meet her! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHVA/Dog

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Your new, lovable sidekick awaits! HISTORY: Unknown. Found abandoned in Kentucky with his mom                                                   PERSONALITY: Norman is such a sweet, mild-mannered boy. He is still shy when meeting new people and can be fearful of men/reactive to loud noises, but once he knows you, he is a total love bug! Norman thinks that all dogs and cats are just friends he hasn’t met yet, but he also respects when this opinion isn’t reciprocated. Since Norman is still young, he enjoys some bouts of playfulness, but he also enjoys his naps and sleeping in. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Carrying around his toys, making new friends, being close to his person/people, and being loved on. MEDICAL ISSUES: No known issues.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME:  Norman would love to have a home where he gets plenty of love and attention, and hopefully has some four-legged friends to play with. Although he is doing fairly well with house-training, he will need someone that understands his cues. He will also need someone that understands that he is still a puppy and doesn’t know the difference between an acceptable toy and your slippers. Norman is also quite the ladies man and seems to prefer females over males for his human(s). Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Melvin is a young Boerboel mix, estimated to be about 1 year old, who came to us as a stray. We don't know much about his past, but we are excited to help him findthe bright future he deserves. Melvin is a big, goofy boy with an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves other dogs, especially dogs his own size, and nothing makes him happier than a good game of chase or some rough-and-tumble wrestling with a canine friend. Because he's still young, he's full of energy and doesn't always realize just how big he is. One of Melvin's sweetest qualities is how quickly he bonds with his people. He's a true shadow dog who wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're making dinner, watching TV, or working around the house, you will find a big slobbery face following right behind you. He loves being part of the family and is happiest when he's included. Melvin already has a great foundation for his new family. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash, making the transition into his forever home that much easier. He still has plenty to learn, and needs someone who will teach him. He's been around children and has done well, though his size and enthusiastic play style mean he'll do best with a family that can help him continue learning good manners. Melvin is eager to please and will thrive with patient guidance, regular exercise, and lots of opportunities to play. Melvin should not be placed in a home with cats. He simply wants to play with them the same way he plays with big dogs, and because of his size and rough play style, it's just not safe for feline friends. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side, make you laugh with his oversized puppy antics, and happily cover you in a little slobber along the way, Melvin may be the perfect fit. He didn't get to choose how his story started, but he's more than ready for a family to help write the rest of it. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
