You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Please take the time to research the breed before considering fostering/adoption. Because of their immense size, strength, and strong guardian instincts, they are generally not recommended for first-time or novice owners. They require experienced handling, early socialization, and ongoing training throughout their lives. Meet Cosmo...an Independent Spirit, Born Guardian Personality: Cosmo is a spirited, adventurous, intelligent Caucasian Shepherd puppy with a big personality and natural guardian instincts. She absolutely loves having an older sister and brother! She has already learned so much from watching them, including manners and how to look after and protect the herd. She is observant, confident, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. This is a working guardian breed, and her protective instincts are already beginning to develop. She needs a family who understands that these traits are part of who she is and is prepared to guide them through consistent training, structure, and responsible socialization. Cosmo is also very independent and already shows the self-assured nature of her breed. She likes to explore, observe, and figure things out for herself. She isn't just looking for someone to entertain her—she has a mind of her own and natural instincts that will need to be guided by someone who understands guardian breeds. Her independence is part of what makes her special, but it also means she'll need a patient, confident owner who can provide consistent boundaries without expecting a people-pleasing dog. Favorite Activities: Running, exploring, playing, and going on wild adventures ALL DAY LONG! Cosmo loves having room to roam, following the animals, observing her surroundings, and learning from the older dogs. She enjoys being involved in everything happening around the homestead and is happiest when she has space to explore and a job to do. She is an energetic puppy who needs plenty of room, stimulation, and appropriate outlets for her natural instincts. A small yard or city lifestyle would not be a good fit for her. Medical Issues: No known medical issues reported at this time. What would be the best kind of home: Cosmo needs an experienced, committed home that understands and respects the Caucasian Shepherd breed. A rural property, farm, or homestead with substantial, secure fencing and plenty of room to roam would be ideal. She is accustomed to being around animals and developing her natural livestock guardian instincts, so a home that understands working guardian dogs would be best. She would benefit from having confident, well-mannered canine companions who can help show her the ropes, although any resident dogs must be a good match for her as she matures. Her new family must be prepared to provide consistent boundaries, structured training, early and ongoing socialization, and responsible management of her developing protective instincts. Food is a serious business for Cosmo! She has already shown resource-guarding tendencies, so her adopters must understand resource guarding and be willing to manage it safely and work on it through appropriate, positive training. She needs careful management around food and other valuable resources, not punishment or confrontational attempts to take things away. Cosmo is adorable, playful, and full of adventure, but she is also growing into a powerful guardian breed with strong instincts. She is not a fit for an apartment, a small city yard, or a home unfamiliar with large livestock guardian breeds. She needs space, knowledgeable handling, and a family willing to help her grow into a confident, stable, well-managed adult dog.Click here to watch a video of Cosmo.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
