Story
https://foha.org/pet/queen2023/ All hail me, your Queen! Hey there! My name is Queen, and I am a big, beautiful pup with a larger-than-life personality and a royal charm. The great outdoors is where I truly shine—I absolutely love going for walks and can never get enough of them! Leash walking? Piece of cake! I’m always ready for an adventure. Hiking is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Whether it’s a winding trail through the woods or a peaceful park, I’m in my element. There’s just something magical about exploring nature—splashing my paws in streams, sniffing out all the new scents, and, of course, rolling in the grass (I just have to!). I’m also a fantastic travel buddy. Car rides? No problem! I’m happy to either gaze out the window, watching the world go by, or just settle in with a tasty treat. And speaking of treats… let’s talk food. I. Am. FOOD. DRIVEN. Seriously, if you’ve got snacks, you have my full attention. Training? Yep, I’ve had training sessions, and with the right motivation (ahem, treats), I’m eager to learn and show off my skills. But let’s be real—I like to think I’m the one in charge, so I need a patient and consistent owner who knows my breed and can keep me on the right track. I’ve been in the shelter for two whole years, just waiting for my perfect match. I may come off as a bit sensitive, so I’d thrive in a quiet home where I can feel safe and comfortable. But once I warm up to you? Oh boy, get ready for endless love, constant demands for attention, and yes—plenty of slobbery kisses! If you can handle that, I promise I’ll be your best girl. I’d do best as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention (because let’s face it, I deserve it!). A household without kids would also be ideal, given my size and my big, excitable heart. But don’t let my size fool you—I’m a total teddy bear and a great house guest. I love hanging out with my favorite people, cuddling up, and just being part of the family. If you’re looking for a majestic, affectionate, food-loving, adventure-ready companion, I’m your girl! Let’s take on the world, one walk (or treat) at a time. If you’d like to meet me, fill out an application (no obligation), and let’s make it happen. Hope to see you soon!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Your new, lovable sidekick awaits! HISTORY: Unknown. Found abandoned in Kentucky with his mom                                                   PERSONALITY: Norman is such a sweet, mild-mannered boy. He is still shy when meeting new people and can be fearful of men/reactive to loud noises, but once he knows you, he is a total love bug! Norman thinks that all dogs and cats are just friends he hasn’t met yet, but he also respects when this opinion isn’t reciprocated. Since Norman is still young, he enjoys some bouts of playfulness, but he also enjoys his naps and sleeping in. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Carrying around his toys, making new friends, being close to his person/people, and being loved on. MEDICAL ISSUES: No known issues.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME:  Norman would love to have a home where he gets plenty of love and attention, and hopefully has some four-legged friends to play with. Although he is doing fairly well with house-training, he will need someone that understands his cues. He will also need someone that understands that he is still a puppy and doesn’t know the difference between an acceptable toy and your slippers. Norman is also quite the ladies man and seems to prefer females over males for his human(s). Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Melvin is a young Boerboel mix, estimated to be about 1 year old, who came to us as a stray. We don't know much about his past, but we are excited to help him findthe bright future he deserves. Melvin is a big, goofy boy with an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves other dogs, especially dogs his own size, and nothing makes him happier than a good game of chase or some rough-and-tumble wrestling with a canine friend. Because he's still young, he's full of energy and doesn't always realize just how big he is. One of Melvin's sweetest qualities is how quickly he bonds with his people. He's a true shadow dog who wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're making dinner, watching TV, or working around the house, you will find a big slobbery face following right behind you. He loves being part of the family and is happiest when he's included. Melvin already has a great foundation for his new family. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash, making the transition into his forever home that much easier. He still has plenty to learn, and needs someone who will teach him. He's been around children and has done well, though his size and enthusiastic play style mean he'll do best with a family that can help him continue learning good manners. Melvin is eager to please and will thrive with patient guidance, regular exercise, and lots of opportunities to play. Melvin should not be placed in a home with cats. He simply wants to play with them the same way he plays with big dogs, and because of his size and rough play style, it's just not safe for feline friends. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side, make you laugh with his oversized puppy antics, and happily cover you in a little slobber along the way, Melvin may be the perfect fit. He didn't get to choose how his story started, but he's more than ready for a family to help write the rest of it. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
If your ideal day involves minimal cardio, maximum relaxation, and a whole lot of love, then Cindy is the girl you’ve been searching for. At 8 years old, this gorgeous brindle Mastiff mix has officially traded in the high-energy antics of puppyhood for the finer things in life: peace, quiet, and premium comfort. Cindy is looking for the perfect `retirement home` where she can live out her golden years in leisure. She is the ultimate low-maintenance companion who asks for very little but gives so much gentle affection in return. If you have a quiet home, a soft spot for seniors, and an empty space on your floor (and in your heart) for a gentle giant, Cindy is ready to move in and start her retirement with you.Because she is 8 years young, CIndy qualifies for the Sponsored by Simba`s Seniors for Seniors program: no adoption fee for any Senior 65 and up or any military veteran. This pet is available at:Brandywine Valley SPCA4 DC Village Lane SWWashington, DC 20032

Story
Meet Harley she is one of the most loveable dog you would ever meet. She has been raised with young children all the way up to 10 yo. The main reason we are looking to rehome is due to aggression with her food. She loves to sun bathe, loves the butt scratches and love to cuddle and steal your blankets
