Story
Moby had spent the entire year being a very good boy.He adored his people (adults and young kids) and had excellent manners. He followed his humans around the house like a giant, slobbery shadow. He remained the same sweet, loyal, goofy 2-year-old Mastiff we sent home.He was also 130 pounds.Because Mastiffs are many wonderful things, but subtle is not one of them.Moby takes up space. He drools a little. He eats a lot. When he lies across the living room floor, the room basically belongs to him now. This was true on Day One. It was still true a year later.Moby didn’t change. His mom changed her mind.So now he’s back with us, sitting in his kennel with that confused look dogs get when the people they love suddenly vanish from their lives. And honestly, Moby’s life has already been stranger than most dogs’.He originally came here from France. Somebody paid thousands of dollars to buy this dog from a French Mastiff breeder and transport him overseas to Virginia, only to discover what rescue people have been saying forever: money isn't everything. You also need time, love, patience, and, with a dog roughly the size of a loveseat and the grace and coordination of, well, a loveseat, a sense of humor and strong toes. They will be stepped on.Moby's not difficult. He's not damaged. He’s just a very large dog with a very large heart, and he deserves somebody who understands that “forever” includes drool, dog hair, giant paws, and frequent, enthusiastic full-face kisses.Animal Aid Society is located at 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9am to noon daily, including weekends and holidaysInterested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Don`t let Bandit`s size fool you, this 130 pound gentle giant is all about love and snuggles. She bonds deeply with her people and has a naturally protective nature. She would appreciate calm, gradual introduction to new faces. She does prefer a home with no kids. Her favorite thing to do at the shelter is to roll around in the grass out front, it`s just the cutest thing. She does get anxious when left alone and would prefer a home where she can get consistent company and support. If this sounds like your girl, gives a call to schedule a showing. She`ll steal your heart!
