Story
**French bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as IVDD and heat stroke and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Bunny Love.** Bunny Love is simply irresistible! Bunny Love is a 3-year-old bundle of fluff who is the epitome of a social butterfly. She knows no strangers and becomes instant BFFs with everyone she meets. She is a happy-go-lucky girl who brightens the room when she walks in with her big smile and infectious sunshine. Bunny is currently overweight and weighs about 38lbs. Her new family will need to be diligent about keeping her on a strict diet to get her to a healthy weight. Bunny came to us from the Yolo County Animal Shelter after she showed up in someone's front yard as a stray. She was covered in mud and feces and was very much in heat. She is now all cleaned up, and most importantly spayed, and ready for her forever home. Bunny is the sweetest girl around and is the perfect work-from-home buddy. She is more than happy to lounge on her bed while her foster mom gets work done and will follow her around the house wanting to be part of whatever her foster mom is doing. Her ideal home would be with someone who is home often as she always wants to be with her people. She enjoys leisurely walks before it gets hot and loves hanging out in the backyard in the shade. Due to her breed, long hair, coloring, and weight, Bunny is highly prone to heat stroke and can only be exercised when it is under 70 degrees and needs to be monitored when outside. Bunny seems to like other dogs and could enjoy having another mellow dog in her new home. She also would love to be your spoiled only child. Bunny has been doing well with the cats in her foster home and could do well living with dog-savvy cats in her forever home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Bunny seems like she could be a great addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Bunny has been doing well with her housetraining but still has occasional accidents. Her new family with need to be patient with her while she is learning and expect accidents while she is adjusting to a new home and routine. Bunny has been doing well sleeping in a crate at night. Bunny hasn't spent any time alone yet, so she would do best with a family with a flexible schedule who can slowly acclimate to leaving her home alone. Bunny is such a lovebug and deserves the best home ever. If you think you can provide that for her, submit an adoption application today! Bunny Love's adoption fee is $500. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to his or her age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
