Story
Juneau is a special girl looking for a special family! Juneau is about 10 months old, and she is a sweet girl who loves treats and being with her people and dog friends. Juneau came to us as a young puppy after being raised on the streets. She has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find her fur-ever home. Juneau currently weighs about 60lbs and may grow a little bit bigger. Juneau was transferred to us from our friends at BONES Pet Rescue. She was found with her three brothers on the nearby Native American reservation without their mom. After some TLC with BONES, the puppies were transferred to us. The three boys have been adopted, so now it's Juneau's turn to have her happy ever after ending. Juneau is a bashful and submissive girl who will need a patient family. She is shy of new people and unsure of new things and being in new places, but once you earn her trust, she is such a wonderful companion. She loves cuddles on the couch and will happily keep you company while you work from home or get chores done around the house. Food is definitely the way to her heart. She is starting to go on walks and has been doing better and better every day. Juneau is a goofy puppy who loves playing - especially with the other dogs in her foster home. She will need a committed family that understands that she needs lots of time to build trust. We are looking for someone with large-dog experience, extra points if you have owned a fearful dog before. Juneau loves other dogs and has been a great playmate to lots of other foster puppies who have been cared for in her foster home. Having a confident dog buddy really helps Juneau feel safe, so she will need a friendly dog sibling in her new home to help her succeed. Juneau currently lives with dog-savvy cats and can be pretty obnoxious trying to play with them. With a slow introduction and proper supervision, she may do well living with other dog-savvy cats, but would be too much to live with shy cats. Juneau has been doing well living with teenagers. Juneau is house and crate trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate overnight and hang out in there during the workday. She needs a home with a backyard and would do best in a quiet neighborhood, as she will alert you to unknown noises outside. Juneau deserves to find a great family to love her as much as we do.  If you think that might be you, fill out an application today!   Juneau's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
Meet Lola! Or as we have nicknamed her Potato. We have been fostering her and her friend Hank (white and tan bull dog in last photos) since August. She loves a good booty scratch and treats. She is a sweet girl who just wants the princess treatment 🥰 We cannot take her on permanently as she does not get along with our dog. She would most likely thrive as the only dog in a home but has potential to get along great with others; Hank and her came together but have had some spats. She has some resource hoarding tendencies - she has started fights over food and toys. Her and Hank can go to the same house if someone has the space for them. But it is ok if they are separated. Hank will have a separate post for his adoption. Lola is spayed and has a chip, the chip is still in her prior owners information but we can facilitate updating that. She is best suited at a home that is familiar with bulldog breeds, they tend to need more grooming attention then other breeds.

Story
Meet Hank! Hank is the sweetest lover boy ❤️ he just wants to be by your side and get ear scratches. He gets so excited when we come home from being out, he even has this wiggle dance he does. Hank is roughly around 5-6 years old. We have been fostering him and his friend Lola (she has a separate post) since August. A family friend had some urgent life changes and we agreed to help foster them till they found their forever home. We cannot take them on permanently as they do not get along with our dog. Hank and Lola can be separated but can go to the same home if the right family had the space for them. Hank is unaltered but is on a wait list with the SPCA to get neutered. We can help facilitate this as he comes off the wait-list but will leave this optional for the new owners. He is best suited at a home that is familiar with bulldog breeds. *Hank's adoption fee is higher than Lola's due to neutering costs - if the new owner takes over this the fee will be reduced*

Story
Coco is an am bully/bulldog mix that is so sweet we had to put an XO behind her name! Not only sweet, Coco XO is playful, snuggly and full of joy. This absolutely gorgeous short stack is 2 years old and weighs 52lbs. If you could order her at Starbuck's, she'd be the Caramel Brulée Frappuccino with an extra shot of espresso! She's up for anything, anytime making her excellent ride or die sidekick material. Like her on Facebook and follow along with her post-shelter life at: https://www.facebook.com/adoptcocoxo Coco XO was a shelter favorite among the volunteers. Her favorite things are toys, playing fetch and snuggling with a person. She had 4 puppies in her previous life and was a great mom to them. She was separated from them when they entered the shelter, which was hard for her. Coco is good with dogs she knows, but in the shelter, was quite sassy to those she didn't. Because of this, for the time being she's looking to be in an only dog household. This may change as we get to know her more; since leaving the shelter, she is behaving very nicely and has been non-reactive to other dogs. Coco XO is being fostered in NE Minneapolis, MN. If you want to meet her in person, she is down for that! DISCLAIMER: it will be a real good time, and you might fall in love, just sayin. Be prepared! To make this happen, please fill out an adoption application. We will reach out to you within 72 hours to arrange a meet-n-greet. On Adopt-a-Pet, click the "Apply Online" button. If you are visiting us on Petfinder or other websites, please copy & paste this link: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HHRC/Dog or apply directly on our website at househipporescue.org. Thank you! If you have questions about her, like how tall she is etc, shoot an email to: maureenm@househipporescue.org And not very (tall)!

Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
Hi, I am Traviesa aka Travi! I am so happy in a home with those that love me. I don’t mind having other dog friends. I absolutely love to eat and will bark to let you know when it is time. If you want something from me, bring on the treats as I am very food motivated! I know how to sit, come and crate easily. I really don’t mind going in my crate for the night and sleep well until morning. I will quietly let you know when it’s time to get up and go out. My foster mom makes sure to have some water available in the crate for me. Sometimes I even like to rest in my crate during the day and chew on a bone – no need to close the door. I’m curious about cats and not sure they are great housemates for me. I love to tell you how my day has been or tell you a story if you have time to listen and some say, I am sassy! I also am working on my kitchen manners but do not beg for food at the table. Travi will be a wonderful addition to any family. She is loving, easygoing, and VERY talkative.
