Roscoe is from Ohio. I rescued him at 1 and half years old. He has been with me since college and all through my professional life. Roscoe is now 9 years old and as of moving into our latest apartment Roscoe mood has dwindled. He seems to need more attention than I can give him at the current time. He needs someone to be there for him. Which I currently can’t due to my work schedules. He’s a happy fun loving, attention-driven dog. Also loves snacks and butt pats constantly. Please please if you can take him in. I would appreciate it.

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Nacho!! Look at me? I’m delicious! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a handsome boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I think I am around three years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? 100% hunk, obviously! But also… I had my DNA tested and I am American Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Bully, and American Staffordshire Terrier. Look at me, a perfect mix of all the American bully breeds! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am a big, beautiful 70 pounds of love. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m a big, blocky-headed goofy boy! I’m brown/brindle mix with white marks on my chest and gorgeous hazel eyes. I’m really quite beautiful, if I do say so myself (and everyone who sees me agrees, of course!) WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Just about everything! I’ll do anything for treats. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am goofy, playful , sweet, and loyal. Once I bond with you, we are besties. I have a lot of energy, so I’d love someone who likes to play with me and teach me things. But, don’t get me wrong, when it is time to nap, I will cuddle like it is my professional calling. You won’t need one of those weighted blankets with me around! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is going on a long walk at the river! I love playing in the water and playing with other dogs. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love all toys, but I’m a big fan of playing with balls, especially the ones with squeakers. I also love to play tug of war with any kind of toy. I’m just a very playful boy, so I will enjoy anything that you give me! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Yes! I am an extremely fast learner. I’ve learned “sit,” “stay,” “lay down,” and “gentle.” I am also learning, “Leave it,” “Shake,” “Roll over,” and “Give me a kiss!” I can also jam my big booty on your lap even in a small chair! I totally fit…. WHAT SCARES YOU? A world without treats. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I LOVE children, but I sometimes get a little too excited around little ones. I have puppy energy and I’m a big boy. Although I’m working REALLY hard on not jumping and I’m getting better, I would need some more work before I should be off-leash around small children. I’m also a little mouthy still, so toys are a good distraction. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I get a little too excited about cats so no thanks, I’ll pass. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love other dogs! I love them so much that the shelter used me to test other dogs’ dog-friendliness. I’m still learning how to give dogs their space when they’re done playing, so sometimes we take a time out. In my current foster home, I have played nicely with dogs of all sizes. Dogs are so fun! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Anywhere my people are, but especially outside playing in the yard with them. I like playing fetch and love playing in the hose. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Good! One of my back legs is shorter than the other, maybe from an injury when I was a baby, but it doesn’t slow me down. Foster mom is a runner and I get to go running with her all the time! I love it! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I love my foster mom but that’s probably just because she gives me treats. I have three foster brothers and a sister. I play with the boys, but the lady dog doesn’t like playing. My foster brother, Squish, is my favorite, he lets me lay on him. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang out in my crate. I am fine hanging out there for a few hours while my humans are away or at work. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Yes! I’m excellent on a leash. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I can be mouthy when I’m excited or if I want to play with my humans, but I’m learning how to be gentler. I sometimes jump on humans and counter surf if there is food out but I’m getting better at that as well. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) I’m usually good about pottying outside, but I have occasional accidents in the house. I need a good routine! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I LOVE water. It’s the best thing ever. Drinking it, wading in it, playing in the hose stream. It’s so so fun. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they take me for walks, they are teaching me a lot of good lessons on how to behave, and they play fetch with me. I also love snuggling with them at the end of the day or any time I’m allowed. I do like to snuggle! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE COMING TO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was found roaming the streets of the Oceanview neighborhood of San Francisco. I had an injury on my head and my back leg. But I’m pretty much over it and on the go! I am ready to find my forever family and live the rest of my fabulous life with someone who will love me as much as I love them. ** NACHO’S ADOPTION FEE IS $100*** If you are interested in adopting Nacho, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application- www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For more information on what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!!

Story
Petey really is a wonderful, giant puppy! He is sweet, silly, snuggly, and ridiculously cute. He is just about everything that is good in a dog. Petey loves to entertain himself (and others) with his playful attitude and his puppy-like antics. He is a toy addict, and he kindly requests a “new toy allowance” so that he can replenish his stash regularly. He loves to start each day with a happy morning wiggle dance, and he will perform encores throughout the day. Petey is an affectionate fellow. He only gives occasional kisses, but loves to get close to you; nuzzle you; lean; poke at you with his front feet as boxers do; and when he is feeling silly (which is often!), roll around on his back and gently nibble on you. When he’s not being a silly boy, Petey enjoys relaxing by your side and napping (often on his back). He is accustomed to sleeping in bed with a person and snuggling all night. Petey would like somebody who can spend a lot of time with him, and, let’s face it, if Petey’s your pup the feeling will be mutual because he’s just so much fun and sweetness. Petey doesn’t seem to have had much basic training. Truthfully, he can get away without it inside the home because he is an easy, good boy to live with! However, he is overly excited out in the world, on walks, in the car, and seeing new people and animals, so he would benefit from some guidance to help him behave calmly in those situations. He’s a larger-than-average boxer and is a lot to handle when he is overstimulated and excited, which is his default mode out of the home at this time. At this point, meeting people is extremely exciting, but meeting dogs is just too overwhelming for him to handle. Outside the home he’s comfortable only in very low-traffic environments. Petey had a dramatic entrance into rescue, as he was pulled from the shelter while he was suffering from bloat (a medical emergency fatal within hours). He’s incredibly lucky to have survived, and he deserves to see his luck continue by finding a forever home as loving and fun as he is! ———————————————————————————————————————————————— Though we were scheduled to pull Petey from the Monterey County shelter on April 1, on March 31 we received an urgent call from the shelter: their vet believed Petey was suddenly bloating and we were asked if we were still willing to pull him and able to do so immediately. Bloat is an emergency situation that is fatal within hours if not treated surgically, and without help, the shelter’s most humane option was to euthanize Petey. Pulling a dog in critical condition, when we know the cost will be tremendous and a good outcome far from guaranteed, requires a leap of faith. But we had faith in you, so we said, “Yes.” Petey’s condition was such that shelter staff was not sure he would survive the trip to the emergency vet, which was NCBR’s only option. The shelter vet bought Petey time by puncturing his stomach to decompress the gas that was building up. Within an hour of first being contacted by the shelter, a flurry of communication had occurred, an NCBR volunteer darted to the shelter, delivered Petey to an emergency vet, and Petey was being prepped for surgery. The low estimate for Petey’s emergency surgery was $7,000, and post-operative care and medication will increase that cost. But we are overjoyed to say that Petey made it through surgery and is now recovering in the hospital.

Story
Schatzie loves to be held and is very affectionate. She will walk up to you and rest her head on your hand or lap. She is slowly learning how to play catch after watching our resident dog and loves holding a toy in her mouth at all times. Squeaker toys are her jam and there are never too many tennis balls in her opinion. Often times you will find her rolling in the grass and springing back up to all four and ready for the next adventure. She rides well in cars, walks well on a leash and is potty trained. Everyone who meets her says she is an absolute sweetheart. The instant we met, our hearts melted, and could not agree any more.
