Story
**French bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as IVDD and heat stroke, and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Lady.** We adore Lady, and we know you will, too! Lady is estimated to be 6 years old and is the perfect mix of goofy and polite. She loves to make new friends and is always eager to socialize, especially if those new friends have tasty treats for her. Lady is a big fan of belly rubs, and her signature move is to roll on her back so you can rub her belly. Lady weighs about 23lbs, but could probably benefit from gaining a little bit of weight. Lady came to us after she was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter. No family came forward for her. She appears to have had at least one litter of puppies, so it's possible she was used for breeding and then dumped. Whatever happened in her past life, Lady has forgotten, and she can't wait to have her fresh start with her fur-ever family. Lady is such a darling and affectionate girl whose happy place is snuggled on the couch with her foster mom. She is a moderate-energy girl who loves to go out and explore, and she has even learned the joy of fetch. She makes a great morning and evening walking buddy and is happy to trot along, making new friends along the way. She has her basic manners down and is eager to learn - especially if there is yummy food involved! Lady is the only dog in her foster home, but she seems interested in making dog friends and may do well with another easygoing dog companion. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only. Lady needs a kitty-free home. Lady could make a wonderful addition to a home with kids 7 years and older. Lady is mostly housetrained, so she will need a family dedicated to helping her continue to learn. She does great in her crate at night and while her foster mom is at work. Lady has been doing very well living in an apartment. Lady is the kind of dog to march (wiggly butt, face kisses, and all) into your life, become your best friend, then become the absolute center of your world. If she sounds like the adorable girl you need in your life, submit an application today!   Lady's adoption fee is $500.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. February 6, 2026, 10:25 pm

Story
Name: Dolce Birthday: August 29, 2024 Fully vaccinated as appropriate to age. Dewormed, tick, and flea monthly. Crate trained. We got Dolce when she was a puppy, only 8 weeks old. She’s the smartest, most energetic, snuggliest dog ever. She’s very sweet, loves to play fetch and tug of war, very good with kids and other dogs. She’s doesn’t bark only if someone rings the doorbell and it’s only ONE small little “ruff”. The season we are in we are so busy with competitive sports and travel often and cannot always take her. We hate always having to leave her. We would prefer her new home someone always be there with her and give her all the snuggles, pets, and play time she deserves because she’s the best girl! It breaks my heart to give her up.

Story
Beautiful, affectionate "Big T" is looking for a home preferably w/ **no other pets** in the household. He would do best with someone who works from home or is retired. He's happy to be a couch potato right next to you under a blanket all day, or to follow you on the go. He loves car rides and walks/runs, as well as basking in the sun in the back yard. T knows basic commands and is treat motivated. He loves people! And hates to be left alone. His skin and ears are great as long as he gets a medicated bath at least once per month. He's used to it. He is chipped and updated on vaccines for the next 3 years, and his most recent annual lab work was great! Full medical history will be provided. He has **zero breathing issues.** **He cannot be around other dogs unless they are puppies and grow up around him. He does not like to share affection, toys, or food, and will fight with any dog/cat who tries. He has improved now that he takes Trazodone daily, but caution is still advised.**

Story
Rover is a very sweet boy. He is very high energy. We are hoping to find a family for him that has a very active lifestyle and will go on regular hikes with him and runs with him. He does very well with kids and other dogs as long as he has exercise. His new family must be willing to really invest time into giving him an active lifestyle. He is a mix of French bulldog and a German wired hair pointer and has a very stubborn French bulldog personality yet the very sweet personality of a German wire hair pointer. He has no hunting skills… Ha ha ha ha… We tried it out. He will make a perfect family member to someone with a small home but an active lifestyle. We need to find him a new home because we have been unable to give him the active lifestyle he needs due to our own health issues. We are unable to take him on walks and give him the attention he deserves.

Story
Hello! This is Loki. He is a 3 year old Frenchie with a lot of personality. I acquired Loki through an acquaintance that breeds French bulldogs. He and his brother were put up for adoption at the time and I received Loki. Loki is a phenomenal companion and is very loving and needs lots of attention! Unfortunately I find myself working too much and I don’t see it as fair to him. He is good with new people, children, and even other dogs. I have a cat in my home and the mostly just ignore each other. Let me know if you have more questions about him.

Story
We got Pickle when she was a puppy in 2018. We love her dearly, she is 7 years old now, she is healthy, and she has a lot of energy! We have not ran into any health issues with her and she’s also not allergic to chicken … our living situation has completely changed, however, and I truly believe she’s not happy where we are at. We moved from a house that had an 1/2 acre of land so she had a nice yard to play in. Now, my daughter and I are living in an apartment, so she gets very bored. I walk her when I can, but there’s also a lot of other dogs in the apartments and she gets very triggered by them. I just feel like it’s a stressful situation for her and myself because I can’t always entertain her while I’m working. And I just honestly feel like she deserves much more than what I’m able to give to her right now.

Story
**English bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as joint issues and heat stroke, and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Nutmeg .** Meet the absolute sweetest girl around - Nutmeg! Nutmeg is estimated to be 5 years old, and she is the epitome of a social butterfly. Strangers are a foreign concept to her as she immediately loves everyone she meets - especially if they give her attention and/or yummy treats! She brings happiness wherever she goes and is such a joy to be around. Nutmeg weighs about 42lbs. Nutmeg came to us after she was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter. No family came forward for her. It appears she has had at least one litter of puppies, so it's possible she was used for breeding and dumped. Whatever happened in her past, Nutmeg has forgotten, and she can't wait to have her fresh start with her fur-ever family! Nutmeg is the perfect mix of affectionate and independent. Her happy place is on the couch snuggled with her foster parents, but she also can keep herself amused napping on her bed or playing with her toys - squeaky toys are her favorite! She is an easygoing girl who makes a great work-from-home buddy, but is also happy to chill at home while you're gone at work. She likes her leisurely strolls around the neighborhood and would be a great walking buddy for someone who doesn't want a super active dog. Nutmeg has some of her basic manners down, but is a bulldog, so only listens when she wants (aka when food is involved). Nutmeg has done well living with other dogs. She is the only animal in her foster home, but she spent some time in a short-term foster home with other dogs and mingled well with the group. Nutmeg spent some time in a foster home with kitties, too. She was a little excited to chase them at first, but after a slow introduction and proper supervision, she was able to settle around them. Nutmeg has loved all the kids she has met, but can be jumpy when excited, so would do best with kids 7 years and older who couldn't get knocked over by her. Nutmeg is housetrained and crate-trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate at night and hang out in there for short periods during the day. Nutmeg could do well living in an apartment. Nutmeg is such an amazing girl, and she is going to make someone very lucky! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Nutmeg's adoption fee is $500.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.
