You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Coraline, your future lowrider beauty queen. I may be shaped like a bulldog mix, but I strut like a runway model with short legs and a big personality. At about 45 pounds of pure wiggle, I’m the perfect size to wrestle with my dog friends, chase tennis balls, and then plop right into your lap for a cuddle session. My favorite hobbies include collecting tennis balls like they’re rare treasures, rocking cozy sweaters in the chilly Minnesota weather, and practicing my zoomies in the yard. I love wrestling matches with dogs and humans alike, and I play hard but love even harder. I’m kennel trained, leash trained, potty trained, and car-ride approved. Basically, I’m the total package. I do sometimes forget my name—or maybe I just like to keep you guessing—but I’ll happily listen when you say “Outside” or “Kennel.” I’m great with kids, adults, and other dogs, though I’d really love a buddy to wrestle with or humans who are home most of the time to keep me company. I’m goofy, affectionate, and guaranteed to make you laugh at least once a day. If you’re looking for a silly sweetheart who’s equal parts cuddle bug and playmate, I’m your girl. Adopt me, and let’s start our happily-ever-after, preferably with snacks and tennis balls. Love, Coraline Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Scooter, a quirky, snuggly little goofball with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This French Bulldog mix is full of love, energy, and opinions. At about 30 pounds, he's the perfect size for lap cuddles—which just happen to be one of his favorite things in the world. Belly rubs? Yes, please. Ice cubes? Delicious. Chasing the hose? Pure joy. He’s got a playful streak a mile wide and adores games like tug-of-war, keep-away, and wrestling with trusted dog friends. But let’s be real—Scooter is not your average, easygoing pup. He’s had a rough go somewhere along the line, and he’s working hard to feel safe in the world. He has a few non-negotiables: he needs time to build trust, doesn’t like chaos, and absolutely does not want anyone messing with his ears unless you're in the inner circle. Men make him nervous, and he's not a fan of being left alone too long. Scooter is also very food-motivated—which can be both a training superpower and a trigger for resource guarding, especially around other dogs.  Scooter does best being fed in a separate area, if dogs reside in the home.   Scooter can and will lunge or bite if he feels overwhelmed or scared. He’s made huge progress in foster care, but he needs a calm, confident human who will continue that journey with patience, structure, and maybe even a good trainer in their corner. He’s not crate-trained (he finds crates stressful), and he’s not suited for homes with kids or lots of commotion. A fenced yard is a must—he needs space to run and decompress. Here’s the flip side: once you’re “his person,” Scooter will love you with his whole goofy heart. He’s affectionate, loyal, and eager to please. He’s smart and knows commands like sit, down, leave it, and “go potty.” He’s house-trained and walks well on leash. He loves toys, attention, and being part of the action—as long as it’s not too much action. Scooter isn’t for everyone, but if you’re someone who sees the beauty in helping a misunderstood dog bloom, Scooter might be your perfect project-turned-best-friend. He’ll make you laugh, keep you company, and love you fiercely. And that, friends, is a pretty special kind of magic. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, I’m Brussels, a quirky little cuddle bug! I’m an almost 2-year-old male French Bulldog, weighing in at a compact 20 pounds. I might be small, but I’ve got a big, silly personality waiting to shine once I feel comfortable with my people.  I am a little ball of energy, and I love everyone I meet.  I am playful and curious, and I LOVE balls—like seriously love.  They are my absolute favorite—and I’m always up for a game of fetch. I hope your throwing arm is ready!!  So long as I have options around, I keep myself busy and don't get in too much trouble.  Ropes and bones are great too.  One thing I should share is that my tummy has issues.  The dogtor says I have IBS.  I don't really know what that means, but I do know that I need to be kept very strictly on a specific prescription food, and I cannot have any doggo treats or hooman food-like none at all.  So long as I am kept only on my prescribed food I do well.  But, if I have anything other than that, we will both be sorry!  My poor belly just does not work with other food or teats, and you and I both will be in icky poo situations which is no fun.   I’m still learning the ropes of potty training and crate time. Right now, I make sure you know how I feel when I’m in my crate (loudly!) and sometimes have accidents in it, so I’ll need a patient family to help me keep learning.  Because of my wide-set eyes and strabismus (cross eyed), my vision isn’t the best.  But I just take it at my own pace, and I do just fine.  I have even learned how to do stairs!  Isn't that pawmazing???   While I do love other doggos, I tend to look at kitties as moving snacks so it's probably best for us both if my furever home does not have any kitties.   But since I love other doggos I am really hoping to find a brother or sister to be around.  I feel much braver and happier with a furry friend around so that's my hope.  If you hoomans are home all the time I could possibly be your one and only too.   Overwhelming commotion can also scare me, so I’ll thrive in a calm and structured environment. A fenced yard is a must since I’m not leash-trained yet and can be a bit of a flight risk when I feel scared.     I’m still learning to seek affection, but I’ve started to enjoy snuggling with my person on the couch or floor. My fur is SO soft—you’ll definitely want to cuddle me once I’m ready!   If you have patience, love, and a dog friend for me to bond with, I promise to be your sweetest, quirkiest little companion. Let’s meet soon—I’m ready to share my unique charm with you! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Brussels should have his breathing evaluated between 18-24 months to see if he needs nares and soft palate surgery. This will be at the adopter's expense, if needed, when full grown. It is estimated that 80% of bulldogs require this surgery. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.
