❤️ Why You’ll Fall in Love With Petey
Petey is pure sweetness wrapped in a squishy face and equipped with the biggest, saddest, puppy-dog eyes you’ve ever seen. He is immediately affectionate of newcomers, and does not take long to adjust to new surroundings. Once introduced to his surroundings, he is extremely self-sufficient. Petey is not a big complainer and rarely makes a fuss.
🏡 Around the House
Petey LOVES affection—gentle pets, silly dog-talk, goofy face rubs, and even a little roughhousing. He’s incredibly tolerant and takes love in all its forms. His motto: “All affection is good affection.”
Petey is a lover. He is happy to see you. For someone looking for easy companionship, Petey is a phenomenal fit.
Petey is quiet. Yes, he might quietly snore a bit, but his foster has yet to hear him bark. He is unbothered by city noises and sleeps solidly for naps and through the night.
He communicates plenty through wiggly excitement, soulful looks, and spontaneous snort-symphonies. Loves good scratches at the base of his tail and neck.
Petey needs a bit of regular grooming, especially around his adorable face folds. He’s extremely cooperative—even if he wiggle-worms his face away like “sir please, why must we do this?”—but never growls or gets grumpy. He is easy to bathe and does not put up a fight. He is prone to getting cold, so a sweater on cold fall/winter/spring days is a must!
Petey wants to be near his people; he’s sweetly affectionate without being clingy. He’s content to lounge in his open kennel with a blanket. He does not chew household items (bonus!). But he does enjoy sticks, toys, and gently tugging on towels/ropes.
Petey prefers to be the only dog in the household, where he can give his full love to his parents and receive all the love back.
Petey is working on not marking indoors and has already made great progress! He seems to be less territorial when he is the only dog in the home, but he’s also totally comfortable wearing a belly band throughout the day.

He’s a follower through and through. Wherever you lead, he will be closely in tow.
Petey travels well. Once in the car, he's silent, peaceful, and calm. No pacing, no whining.
