Introducing beautiful Miss Nutmeg! Nutmeg, AKA Meggy, is a 10-year-old long-haired miniature dachshund who doesn't look or act a day over five. She's the sweetest, most gentle, calm girl you'll ever meet. Nutmeg was surrendered to Zoe's House by a farm when they decided to stop breeding her. While in our care she's been spayed so no more puppies for this lil mama! Meggy gets along great with dogs of all ages and sizes, but her notes from the farm said she likes to chase cats, so a home without kitties is required. Her ideal home will have a fenced in yard as she likes to take her time sniffing around for the perfect potty spot. Speaking of, she's done amazing with potty training and has had very few accidents inside, but regression in a new environment can sometimes occur. She enjoys chewing on bones and sunbathing in the yard, but her absolute MOST favorite thing to do in the whole world is curl up on a warm lap. Meggy is the true definition of lap dog. And weighing in at only 14 lbs, she's the perfect size for it! As common for the breed, Nutmeg did have some dental issues when she first came to us, but we've got her all fixed up now. She had several teeth removed and the remaining teeth cleaned, and she's still able to eat kibble with no issues. She also tested positive for Lyme but was treated with a round of antibiotics and has exhibited no symptoms. Meggy is UTD on all vaccines and preventatives and is ready to find her forever home! Oscar is a Bassett/beagle mix and is right around 6 months old. He came from a family siblings, so a home with another playful animal would be perfect. He does not mind cats. Oscar walks well on a leash and would love a fenced-in yard or somewhere he can run and chase birds. He is housebroken and kennel trained. He loves stuffed animals and balls! He knows how to sit and fetch. Oscar is a friendly boy to all, and loves to be with his people. He loves belly rubs, especially when he is trying to avoid something he doesn't want to do. He is definitely a people puppy who likes to play, cuddle, and be the center of attention at all times. He is microchiped. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Please contact Denise (sharpeisnchihuahuas@msn.com) for more information about this pet.Irene was dumped at the gate of a high kill shelter in WV one weekend.  She is a sweet dog that deserves a family for the rest of her years. Poor Irene has been diagnosed with Cushing disease and will require cushings medication for the rest of her life. With her Cushing Irene pees alot very frequently. She needs someone that will take her out every couple hours to pee. She sometimes needs to pee in between so foster mom has xlarge size pee pads inside which  she will go on. Also the same with overnight. She can't hold it an entire night even though she is on meds. She is on 2 different kinds of meds and requires a test every couple months to make sure meds are regulated. She is so sweet and friendly. She walks perfectly on a leash. She likes to be petted and be with people. She is great with other dogs and pigs. ** LOCAL CENTRAL PA APPLICATIONS ONLY **Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Irene is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required.
