Story
Jay j is a very timid but sweet 11 month old min pin mix. We had adopted him from a small dog rescue ,he had come from a puppy mill. He's great with kids and dogs but will need time to learn to trust you,as he's very scared until he warms up. Unfortunately my older dog doesn't like him and attacked him which his wound is being treated. We love him dearly but can't have them fighting again 😔 he will be a great addition to any house and he has so much love to give. If you have any questions please feel free to ask

Story
Hello there! My name is Thunder, and have I got a special story to share with you. I came to Forever Loved along with my two furry roommates after our owner passed away. Although it was very sad to lose my owner, it turns out there is a silver lining to my story because I have received nothing but the best veterinary care, and have been so blessed to be in a loving foster home. Matter of fact, my furry foster brother has taken me under his wing and both foster and foster brother have shown me nothing but love and great care. By the way, I am a 12 year old 8lb Miniature Pinscher. Turns out, I have Valley Fever, and the vet discovered torn ACLs, luxating patellas, and a curvature in my spine. So with my orthopedic challenges, I can walk, but I prefer to just hang out with you or find a comfy bed to snuggle in to. Here’s the great news - I am so reliably house trained, I will hold it until I am outside, and all I need from you is for you to carry me out several times a day, and easy-peasy, I do my business and back in we go! I am very gentle and quiet, and when you come home after an absence, I will do a squeaky noise to show you how happy I am. I’d be great for an apartment or condo. Going on walks is not really a good thing for me but I will tell you, I love to be carried in a sling or even go out in a stroller. I am such a friendly and well-behaved guy! I love other dogs, all kinds of people, and you can even say I am sweetness personified. I will need the anti fungal med for a few more months, and a recheck of my blood to show that the Valley Fever is gone, but will need a pain medication for the ortho issues for the rest of my life. I feel so much better now that sometimes I even do “mini zoomies!” I just know you can see what a treasure I am from my photos, and I’m hoping you have a spot in your heart for a very special dog…

Story
Hugo (fka Chaplan) will be available to meet and potentially adopt (pending foster's availability) on Saturdays starting Saturday, June 1st at our PetSmart location (857 N Val Vista Dr, #106, Gilbert AZ 85234) until adopted. The adoption event starts at Noon and goes until 3:00pm.mid-May Hugo update...he is now housetrained. He's a sweet, quiet dog, loves me and sits by me on his floor bed. At night he moves up on the couch to sleep. He's not a barker or biter, he does steal and chew everything, 2 remote controls, 2 pr of shoes, assorted small items = basically anything in the house he can reach and carry he will destroy. He's become a very picky eater,😿 won't eat dry food but here we cook for them nightly so not his fault. He doesn't seem to like men. My pet sitter is live-in, he cleans up after Hugo, cooks for him, feeds him but Hugo doesn't let him get too near. And its nothing the pet sitter did. He's that way with any male he's encountered. He does love me and goes crazy wagging and doing zoomies, but even for me he's not very approachable, he has to come to me... I can't really go to him.Photos of him on his white fuzzy bed at my feet and the couch h sleeps on.

Story
Kobe is a smart and playful older gentleman. He weighs 13.8 lbs, and is thought to be a min pin mix. He is blind in the right eye, but the veterinarian said it was best to not remove it. This doesn’t slow him down! He loves to follow a person around, and if his person is moving, he’s moving. If his person is hanging out, watching TV, he loves to lie next to them. He doesn’t seem to be much of a lap guy….He really loves to play fetch, and even brings the ball back to you, dropping it at your feet or your side most of the time! I have never had so many toys spread throughout the house! 😂 He learned the dog door in one day, but doesn’t use it much on his own. However, he has not had any accidents. He is currently getting daily walks, and when he sees a leash he jumps and spins with happiness! He has not been allowed on my bed because I have three of my own that wouldn’t be happy about that! However, when I pat a dog bed near our bed, he is happy to be tucked in, and he stays all night. He has never been pushy with my pack, and when he has been snapped at by his foster brother, he backs away…He is a special boy that deserves his forever home. He will do best with someone who is able to provide walks and play time daily. He will be available after a dental.

Story
Pumpernickel (aka Bob) is a 5 year old mixed breed, 36 pound bundle of fun! This guy loves to play and run around and will be looking for an active home to keep him busy! He is friendly and confident and checks in with his humans frequently. He loves going for walks and has good leash manners and will come when called. He is housetrained and knows basic commands such as "sit," and is gentle when receiving a reward. Foster home says he's a wonderful houseguest. He's not a barker in the foster home, even if the doorbell rings. Bob is very friendly and likes to greet every person he meets while on walks. He doesn't enjoy meeting other dogs so he'll be happiest as your only canine companion, and he's a little uncomfortable around young kids so he'll do best in a home with kids 12+ for his quality of life. Pumpernickel is residing in a foster home and is available for meet and greets during the week, and is at our adoption center every Saturday! Email Debbie@azfriends.org to arrange a weekday meeting or just come and see us and speak with an adoption counselor! No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
