Story
Penny is a 5 year old maybe Min Pin/Chihuhua mix (or maybe just one or the other?) weighing about 9lbs.  Penny was brought to a shelter in Texas because she had a leg injury her owners couldn't/wouldn't pay for.  They surrendered her to the shelter, where they were able to diagnose her with a broken leg.  She was then transferred to a vet that operated on her leg, fixing the break.  She recovered in a wonderful foster home in Texas and then was transported here to find a forever family.  Here is what Penny's foster Momma has to say about her: "Penny is such an easy going, loving little dog.  She is going to make a wonderful addition to any family. She wants nothing more than to be near you even if its a bed next to your desk.  She will follow you everywhere, and nothing makes her happier than to sit in your lap - movie night is her favorite. She loves to snuggle with her humans in bed at night, and tends to get super excited when she first gets into bed cuz she knows cuddle time is coming!  She is totally fine around my bigger dogs and has started to play a little with my dog Charlie.  She is truly just friendly with everybody.  She sometimes coo's, especially when getting ready for bed, and will do little circle dances, which are adorable.  She has never messed in the house, but we do let her out pretty frequently.  She seems to be pretty smart!" Story
Meet our sweet TicTac! TicTac is a 5 year old, 18 lb Chihuahua / Min Pin mix. We rescued TicTac from a high-kill shelter in Houston TX, where he was up for euthanasia due to lack of space in the shelter. Luckily, we got him out just in time to spare his life, and we are so thankful we did because this boy is the sweetest cuddle bug! TicTac will do really well in a home where he’s showered with love, affection and attention. He’s a mellow little guy who thrives on snuggling and naps. From TicTac's foster: * * * * "This boy has been SO good!!! He is totally house trained, doesn't bark at all inside the home, and is so snuggly!!! He is a major snuggler and literally just SO sweet!!! He loves walks and walks great on a leash. He is hesitant with strange men, and may bark at them at first, but he warms up after a few hours when given some treats. He did well with my husband and 12 year old son after they gave him some treats and helped him realize they were safe. He is sweet with other dogs and lives well with our dog (a big poodle mix). He is so so so sweet, we are loving fostering him!!!" * * * * TicTac's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a little rescue dog. New rescue dogs require training and tons of love to nurture a positive attitude about the world. In return TicTac will be a loyal and loving best friend and the greatest lap (or couch) dog ever. When this adorable pup falls in love, he falls hard. He gives 100% of himself to his relationships with both his people and his canine companions. Since TicTac is curious and super-smart dog, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. TicTac will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a dog's's ultimate behavior and in his relationship and bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt TicTac out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual or in-person trainers in your area. TicTac has been fully vetted and vaccinated to adhere to Farfel's protocol of only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to a future world where dogs are never euthanized for space. Applications are currently being accepted for TicTac and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application form completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting TicTac, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
