Story
Gideon Miniature Pinscher Mix Male 10 years 18 lbs. Hi there, I'm Gideon! I'm a lovable dog who loves to cuddle and go on walks. I’ve got the happiest personality, and I’m just a small and playful sweetheart! And I can’t wait to find a forever home of my very own. I'm always up for some fun, but when I’m not playing or going for walks, I like to snooze on a comfy couch or bed. The fastest way to my heart is with lots of plushie toys. I’m also a big snuggler; at night, I sleep in bed with my foster family so we can stay cozy and warm together all night long! I’ll even nuzzle your neck when we cuddle! I really love meeting new people—especially if they’re going to give me lots of pets and snuggles! I've been doing well with the older, calmer dogs in my current home so I’d do well with similar friends in a forever home. I get a bit overwhelmed with larger, more energetic dogs so I’d prefer a home without them. I'm not sure how I feel about children or cats since I haven't had much interaction with them. I’m in really good health for my age! I recently had a dental where I had a lot of my teeth extracted so I’m feeling a lot better now! I like having my food a little softened with water so its easier to eat but other than that, I don’t need any other accommodations post-dental surgery. Are you looking for a sweet and snuggly companion who will always be by your side? You can learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Relishing her second chance at life, 10-month-old Rena is 60 pounds of sweetness wrapped inside the sleekest dark chocolate coat. Passionate about affection, she loves cuddling and snuggling with her foster mom, resting her head on her, then dancing delightedly about. Sociable, sassy, and often silly, she keeps everyone smiling with some of her antics, is fine around children, yet she’s uneasy when it comes to strange sounds and men until she gets to know them. Highly and happily energetic, she plays beautifully with both her slightly larger doggy foster brother and smaller dogs, enjoys going on two walks a day, and fence running with the neighbor’s dog. While she’s unsure about Kongs and similar toys, she’ll carry around other types of toys and then sleep on her bear at night. Especially fond of elk antlers, motivated by food and love, she loves all treats, and is learning to accept them more gently. At work on her “sit” command (she’s most consistent at mealtime), and her leash and crate-training, she’s almost fully house-trained, extremely eager to please, and equally easy to teach. Now all this sociable sweetheart needs is a loving home that will patiently bolster her confidence, continue her socialization, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $300. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
####Vivian is a 6 year old Miniature Pinscher who weighs 12 pounds. She has such a gorgeous face! She is a very playful girl who loves to have play parties. She loves to be close to her dog friends in playgroups and likes smaller play opportunities so she doesn't get overwhelmed with dogs and people. Vivian is making nice progress with people, although she remains skittish and shy. She can be a picky eater but she is also very food motivated. She will go up to familiar people and recently has discovered the joy of being pet by people she knows very well. She will take treats gently tossed to her. A more confident dog in her new home will help her learn further than people are good and she needs at least one as a sibling. She and her new sibling(s) need a fenced yard with at least a 4 foot high fence. She is fearful of fast movements and unexpected noises so she cannot have children in her new family. She can be squirmy for handling so extra care will need to be taken to carry her safely when she needs to be carried. If you would like to meet this stunning pup, please apply at NMDR.org.- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Hi there, I'm Tressa the rat terrier. I weigh 14lbs and I'm still figuring out this big new world. I have been enjoying puppy parties and being able to see all my dog friends. I also love when there's treats and have been coming up to people to take treats from them. I would do better in a home that has another more confident dog that I can learn from. I also need a home with at least a 4ft fence as I am still learning to walk on leash and can spook easily. If you would like to meet me or any of the other dogs here then please apply at nmdr.org. - - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. Story
#### Hi there! I was recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue, and my dedicated care team is still learning all about me. The intake team said I am very shy. I need a home with a secure yard with 5' fence, another more confident dog my size, and no children under 16. I weigh 14 pounds. Please check back soon to read my biography. Meanwhile you can learn more about the organization that rescued me here: http://nmdr.org - - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization.
