Story
Meet Georgia, a 7-year-old, 12-pound Miniature Pinscher with a bright, friendly personality and an easygoing charm that wins people over quickly. Georgia is outgoing and social, always happy to say hello and be part of what’s going on around her. She is very food motivated, which makes her fun to interact with and eager to engage with her people. Treats go a long way with Georgia and help her shine even more as she builds connections and learns new things. Georgia gets along well with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. She prefers to be with her canine companions and seems most comfortable and confident when she has another dog around. Because of this, she would do best in a home with a canine friend to share her space and adventures. She also has a playful side and loves toys—whether she’s tossing them around or entertaining herself, she enjoys staying active and engaged. Georgia is also affectionate and will even ask to be pet, happily leaning in for attention once she’s feeling comfortable. With her friendly nature, love of dogs, and affectionate personality, Georgia is a sweet little companion who is ready to bring joy to a home that appreciates her social, playful spirit. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Spend some time with Smilz and it’s easy to see how she got her name as she smiles up at you while you rub her belly. She is very affectionate and is not shy about requesting your attention! Smilz is a big dog in a small package. She is very athletic and loves zooming around, followed by nap time curled up perfectly on your lap. She is a great mix of being curious and independent while also being a true companion/velcro dog. She is very quiet and would make a great apartment dog as long as she can have some room and time outside for zoomies. She would probably do better with older kids who will respect her space and recognize her cues. She does well with other dogs and respectfully ignores the resident cats, but what she truly thrives on is human love. She is usually always at your side and loves helping with anything you are doing.

Story
Penny is a 5 year old maybe Min Pin/Chihuhua mix (or maybe just one or the other?) weighing about 9lbs.  Penny was brought to a shelter in Texas because she had a leg injury her owners couldn't/wouldn't pay for.  They surrendered her to the shelter, where they were able to diagnose her with a broken leg.  She was then transferred to a vet that operated on her leg, fixing the break.  She recovered in a wonderful foster home in Texas and then was transported here to find a forever family.  Here is what Penny's foster Momma has to say about her: "Penny is such an easy going, loving little dog.  She is going to make a wonderful addition to any family. She wants nothing more than to be near you even if its a bed next to your desk.  She will follow you everywhere, and nothing makes her happier than to sit in your lap - movie night is her favorite. She loves to snuggle with her humans in bed at night, and tends to get super excited when she first gets into bed cuz she knows cuddle time is coming!  She is totally fine around my bigger dogs and has started to play a little with my dog Charlie.  She is truly just friendly with everybody.  She sometimes coo's, especially when getting ready for bed, and will do little circle dances, which are adorable.  She has never messed in the house, but we do let her out pretty frequently.  She seems to be pretty smart!"
