Story
Topper was rescued from a South Atlanta animal shelter.  She was quite shy the first few days, so we gave her some space and she began to seek us out after about 4 days.  After a few weeks, she follows us and seeks affection.  She is very sweet and silly.  Topper is 6 yrs old weighs 16 lbs. and looks like a mini German Shepherd.  She will come inside when called for her food and bed time, but she really enjoys playing in the yard with her canine friends.  She loves her dry kibble and is not a picky eater.  She needs to learn to take treats gently though, watch those fingers!  When her foster mom is loving on other dogs, she'll yip and tug your pants leg!  She wants ALL your love, and we are working to correct that behavior.  We only crate Topper when she's eating.  However, we do baby gate her when nobody is home. When you pick her up, she'll lay her head on your shoulder and melt your heart instantly. Alcovy dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped. Primrose (Rosie) 5 year old blue/fawn Min Pin 5.6 lbs. Docked tail, natural ears Fully vetted Owner surrender Available in the metro Atlanta area Rosie is a tiny bundle of energy who has 2 speeds... Asleep or bouncing everywhere. She is crate trained. She is working on house training. Due to her tiny size, she needs to go out every 1-2 hours. I was told she used pee pads to an extent in her prior home, but I have not tested that as I prefer not using them. She will do anything for food, so working with her is quite easy. She loves meeting new people and is completely loyal to her people. She constantly wants to be held or play. She is dog selective and gets along with calm dogs who are of similar size and not in her face. If you have other small dogs, we would definitely recommend bringing them to meet her. Because of the dog selectiveness, she would also thrive as an only dog where she could get all the attention. No kids under the age of 10 due to her size. We prefer for Rosie to have a secure fenced yard because that is all she has known her entire life. She does not want to do her business on leash. Fully vetted -- Mmust be willing to repeatedly come to her foster home to meet her. -- Woman only home. -- Secure fenced yard required without exception. -- Low traffic environment is best where she doesn't have to meet strangers often or travel. -- Does well with small dogs her size, but other pup friends should match her playful energy level. -- Crate trained but would gladly sleep with her person -- House trained on a schedule -- No children. -- No cats. -- No large dogs. -- No men. They terrify her. -- No apartments or condos. -- Don't expect her to be okay with leash walks or dog parks because she is too nervous. -- Has severe motion sickness even with short rides. Can last a few days. Once Chiquita is comfortable with someone, her personality shines. She acts like any other dog, but it takes time and patience to get her to that point. She is very energetic and would love another playful friend. A confident dog would most likely help her adjust faster as well. We do not want her bounced around because someone is unfamiliar with fearful dog behavior so are trying to be as transparent as possible. She would love more than anything for her new person to be a homebody, though if travel or an emergency does come up, she's more than welcome to stay with her foster even after the adoption is finalized.
