Story
MPMR requires all adopters to have their pets up-to-date on vaccinations, to be spayed or neutered, and on heartworm prevention. Maci 5-year-old Min Pin female 11 lbs. Fully vetted Maci is quite the character. She is an independent little girl who is reminiscent of a cat. She loves spending time outdoors to the point we require her to have a home with a secure fenced yard since she can escape some fencing by way of digging. Privacy fencing is preferred. However, if you have chain link with the bottom dog-proofed, we could consider that as well. She will also be a great walking or hiking buddy if desired as she does not easily tire. She does better in low traffic environments as lots of noise makes her uneasy. A confident dog friend will help her learn the ropes faster and adjust more quickly. She makes friends with anyone who has treats and would do fine in a home with older children over the age of 8 who understand how to interact with dogs. Maci is house trained in her foster home, though as with any dog, we expect a few accidents as she adjusts to a new environment. Thankfully, she has good house manners. She has only two faults, and one of those won't be an issue for many. Maci is not at all a fan of car rides, so she should be adopted within an hour or so of her foster home. She is not suitable for someone who travels often. The other is that she is a door darter and bolter. She will need to be held, put behind a baby gate, or crated (temporarily since she isn't a fan of the crate) if people are coming and going because she is not an easy dog to catch. She also moves faster than someone can blink, so don't think she isn't paying attention to your every move even if she appears to be sleeping. Of note medically speaking is that Maci has been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. She is currently on 0.5 MG of Budesonide a day. It costs around $30 a month from a compounding pharmacy. Without medication, Maci has shown she would not eat much unless food was of a mashed potato consistency and would often vomit undigested food 30 minutes to 10 hours after eating. Her diet is limited to grain-free food and a few select treats to keep flares from occurring. Weaning off meds was attempted but did not go well. The vet finds it highly unlikely that she will ever come off the steroid. Since starting the medication, she has blossomed into a normal dog. she dances, bounces, wiggles, and whines for food and her meds which are hidden in a bit of cheese. She is also starting to play with the other dogs more and is slowly becoming more willing to snuggle near someone. Her personality absolutely shines now that her GI system feels better. Story
MPMR requires that all dogs in the home are up-to-date on vaccines unless there are medical reasons, on heartworm prevention, and spayed or neutered. Fostered in Dacula, GA Hawk: 3 yr. old stag red neutered male Min Pin and Terrier mix, 15 lbs. Fully vetted Hawk is a bouncy pogo stick of a pup! He loves to jump repeatedly. As he can clear 3-4 feet, a fence will need to be a bit taller to contain him as a safety precaution. He is a very loving boy who adores attention and meets no strangers. He gets along with other dogs and ignores cats. Hawk wants nothing more than to be with his person. If you sit down, he will be on your lap. Leash training is progressing, and given how much Hawk loves people, he is more than eager to follow someone on leash. However, he loves just as much to play with other gentle dogs in a fenced area too. Hawk needs to wear a belly band initially due to marking, but otherwise is progressing on house-training if kept on a schedule. Children, if present, should be over the age of 7 as Hawk is quite the jumper and could easily knock a small child down on accident when playing. Story
MPMR requires that all dogs in the home are up-to-date on vaccines unless there are medical reasons, on heartworm prevention, and spayed or neutered. Annie: 5 yr. old red/white spayed Min Pin/Dachshund mix, 14 lbs., docked tail Fully vetted Annie is very energetic and loves squeaky toys. The one in the video lasted only a few minutes. She should be fed separately from other dogs because she finishes her food in about 10 seconds and then wants to steal theirs. She gets along with most dogs with appropriate introductions and a routine which allows her to know what to expect. She has a preference towards male dogs though is currently fostered with all females. Even if she was an only dog, that would suit her just fine since she very much loves attention from people. Of note is that she has shown some issue with submissive urination around men, so if in a house with a man, he will have to be patient while she learns to trust. If children are in the home, they should be over the age of 8 due to how much this girl loves jumping. She could easily knock a small child down on accident since she jumps about 3 feet into the air. Due to a dislike for the leash and her desire to snack on one while wearing it, MPMR requires that Annie goes to a home with a fenced yard. She is house and crate trained in her foster home though will most likely need a refresher in a new environment. Story
Mocha is 2 years old, weighing 18 lbs. However, she needs to loose a little weight. Mocha is a sweet girl. When she was turned into us, we were told she was a chihuahua. However, Shes doesn’t look like a chihuahua and this is out best guess of her breed. Mocha needs some leash training as she doesn’t know how to walk on a leash. Shes almost completely housetrained. With Mocha, you will need some patience As she still learning. Mocha does not like large dogs and we will only adopt to a small dog home.  Alcovy dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped.If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on Alcovy Pet Rescue's website at www.alcovypet.com. Story
My foster mom says I'm "full of love." Yes, it took me almost a month to be "full of love" in my foster home, but I came around. That's what happens when you lose your home and end up in a shelter – you have to make sure you can trust people.      So about me, I'm about 9-years-old, so old enough to know what I want in life. I prefer things on my own terms. I'm not much for cuddling, being picked up, or being petted unless I initiate it. But I'll let you know when I need help – then you can pick me up. I love dogs and playing with them in a fenced yard – I'm also okay with my foster mom's rabbits, but cats, not so much. Kids, I love 'em, but they don't have a lot of impulse control – so only older/almost adult children for me.      I'm house-trained as long as you watch me, but I was neutered at a late age and will try to make sure other dogs know it's my place (so you can keep a "belly band" on me until I re-learn in your home). I mean, who wouldn't like to "read" my signature all-over – I guess not my foster mom. I don't enjoy a crate, but you can place me in a pen or small area when you need to leave the house.      Don't be put off by my independence.  I'm just my own little man.  So, before you make a decision, you should talk with my foster mom. She can tell you what a sweet, loving, and adorable dog I am once I'm comfortable with you...just on my terms...hey, I'm not grumpy. I just know what I want. Maybe you'll be the one to give me everything I want and need.     Check out my video where I'm making up my bed so I can sleep – pretty darn cute!     For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. *Some of our animals receive a high volume of applications, and we strive to select the best home for each animal.
