Story
Charlie is an 8-9 year old Chihuahua and miniature pincher mix. He's adorable and super sweet with those he loves. He's great with kids and gentle with babies, has no food aggression. He does have fear aggression and is very scared of strangers and new dogs. Once he warms up to someone he is very affectionate with them. Charlie likes playing especially tug of war but he doesn't need very much interaction outside of going for a walk or two. His favorite activity is sleeping 😴 Unfortunately with the addition of a newborn to my growing family, I don't have the time to give to Charlie that he deserves.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Linda is a beautiful pup! She came to us from our owner surrender program when her owner was moving and could not take her along. Linda is a sweet little gal. She is a little timid with new human friends but she warms up nicely. She will alert bark at home when someone comes to the door. If it is a family member or person she knows, Linda is quite friendly and affectionate. She is housebroken but uses pee pads sometimes if the weather is very cold or if left alone too long. She is also crate trained and likes her crate. She loves warm beds and blankets but isn't into toys. Linda is OK with other dogs but takes a few moments to get to know them. She lived with a chihuahua in her original home for several years, and currently lives with another pup in her foster home and does great ... she is definitley the boss though. She will be fine with most dogs but probably would not appreciate puppies or very playful dogs that get in her face too much. Linda is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300. How to Adopt Me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Kona is an adorable pup who is looking for a new home. Kona is currently with our partner rescue in Florida but hoping to come to NJ soon.  Kona is a min pin mix - we think! He is a calm, nice boy who loves a good snuggle. He is easy going and well behaved. Kona would love a quieter home. Kona is fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and has been treated for parasites. His   adoption fee is $300.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Story
Penny is a 6-year-old Mini Shepherd mix, weighing just 27 pounds fully grown. She’s an affectionate and playful girl who just needs a little patience when meeting new people, especially men. With slow introductions, she quickly warms up and becomes a loyal companion. Once comfortable, Penny’s energetic side shines—she absolutely loves to zoom around the park! She’s an active pup who thrives on running and playing. She’s also a smart girl who knows how to sit and give her paw. and her tail non stop wags Penny would do best in a calm home where she can feel safe and build trust at her own pace. Story
** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Leeju👋 She was found on the street in South Korea at just 2 months old and sent to a high-risk city shelter along with her four siblings. Luckily, she was rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and sent to her foster home 2 months later. Her foster family has been taking good care of her since, and she’s been living peacefully with the resident dog. LeeJu is now more than ready for a furever home! • Personality: Friendly, Curious, Cautious LeeJu is such a friendly and lovable pup with a curious and cautious personality. Her energy level is mid-low as she mostly chills in a kennel at home and prefers to have light walkies mainly for the bathroom. • Affinity with - Dogs: Super friendly with other dogs as long as they are not too large or aggressive. She doesn’t respond to barking dogs as well. She currently lives with a resident dog in her foster home, so she will be a good fit for a family with other furry companions. - Cats: Good with cats. - Adults/Kids: Good with both adults & kids. She is calm even when kids pet her. • Walking Manners: Well-mannered! • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, mainly using the bathroom outdoors but sometimes indoors when she can’t go outside. • Bathing/Brushing: Very good. • Car Rides: Not anymore. She got better at car rides. Her foster tries to walk her for potty before jumping into the car. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: A little bit towards continued noise from outside the house. • Appetite/Food Allergies: She likes any sort of food! / No food allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: She loves being petted on her face while snuggling up to your side! / She feels cold easily due to her short coat. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 If you have an open heart and a loving home for Leeju, please don't hesitate to apply!

Story
CAPE MAY COUNTY. NJ: Looking for a happily ever after? Find it now: Adopt & fall in love with smarty pants PRINCE! Little Prince is 5 year old miniature pinscher mix and 28 lbs handsome boy who, despite his name, has not had a fairy tale life. Sadly, Prince was surrendered to the city shelter when his owner’s children were reportedly abusing him. For a small dog who had never known much kindness or love, Prince is incredibly smart with a large repertoire of tricks (stay, sit, go, down). His adorably large ears must make it easy for him to hear commands! Prince likes to go for walks, has a medium energy level, and gets along with other dogs. All in all, Prince seems like a very good boy who grew up in a not-so-good environment. A normal, calm home with positivity & love makes Prince the most wonderful companion. He loves to hang out in the sunshine with his people and all of his foster fur siblings. Between his previous home and the chaotic city shelter, Prince has never known what it’s like to feel safe and loved before his foster home, where he is truly blossoming. Because of his past trauma, Prince should not be crated and may be a bit shy, but is easily won over with a little patience - and some treats - and then develops a deep bond to his people, becoming affectionate and trusting them implicitly. Prince is neutered, up to date on shots, micro-chipped and ready to begin his new life in a loving forever home! Can you open your heart and show Prince that sometimes dreams really do come true? He would really appreciate his happily ever after - with lots of happiness to share with his new home! If you can adopt dear Prince, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or info@amsterdog.org for more information, or apply to adopt (or foster-to-adopt) Prince at AmsterDog.org. And thanks for caring about a pet in need!
