Story
Meet Dex, the medium sized dog with the jumbo-sized ears! Don’t worry, those ears are wind-resistant. Dex is a two-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix who was rescued from Allendale, South Carolina. His cute brown and tan fur pair nicely with the patch of grey under his chin. Dex is fully grown at 31 pounds, and he is ready to meet his forever family!
Dex likes to introduce himself and may be a bit excitable, but with a good bit of activity, he is happy to burn off that energy with you. Dex would love a fenced in yard where he can get his steps in (don’t worry, he doesn’t need a Fit Bit. He says he keeps count in his head). He is very playful and bouncy, and he’d love to romp around in the yard with you. He is a strong boy, and putting on the finishing touches to his leash training.
Dex would do great in a home with older children who can match his energy, and he would love a family who likes adventure. Hiking, camping, going to the beach, neighborhood walks—Dex is happy to do it all and would love to be a part of your active family. You might even catch him on your Peloton when you aren’t using it. This happy, energetic boy is waiting for his happy, energetic new family. Won’t you come give Dex a chance?
Dex is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
