Story
A tennis ball enthusiast trapped inside the body of a tiny retired gentleman. That is Glover!
Glover is estimated to be around 8 years old, weighs 16 lbs, and looks very much like a Miniature Pinscher/Rat Terrier mix, though rescue rules apply and breed and age are simply our best guess. What we know for certain is that Glover has mastered the art of being easy company. He is the kind of dog who settles in quickly, makes himself at home almost immediately, and seems perfectly content just being part of whatever you're doing.

Glover is currently being fostered in a loving home, and his foster shared that one of his favorite things in the world is toys. Not only does he love collecting them, he also enjoys a good game of fetch. For a dog who is otherwise fairly low energy, he still has a playful little spark that comes alive when toys are involved. His foster also shared that he gets along wonderfully with their dog, is naturally curious, and has a way of making himself comfortable in new spaces almost right away.
That confidence showed up just the same when we initially met him. Glover handled new people, new dogs, new environments, and all the usual hustle and bustle with an easygoing attitude. He greeted everyone politely, shared affection and toys nicely with other dogs, and patiently waited his turn for treats. While many dogs his age might hesitate in unfamiliar surroundings, Glover simply wandered around, checked everything out, and carried on with his day.
One thing worth noting is that Glover appears to have some age-related changes to his hearing and eyesight. The funny thing is that he seems completely unbothered by it. He confidently marches through new spaces, navigates furniture without concern, and happily introduces himself to new people and dogs. There is something genuinely charming about the way he approaches life with a quiet, confident "I've got this" attitude.
Glover is wonderfully gentle and has an impressive tolerance for handling. The only thing he really seems to object to is being picked up. He much prefers keeping all four paws on the ground and making his own decisions about where he'd like to go. Fair enough, Glover.
When it comes to other animals, Glover has excellent manners. He did well with large dogs, small dogs, and even cats, though we think any feline roommates should be calm, dog-savvy cats who appreciate a respectful housemate. He is not looking for a wrestling partner or a zoomie buddy. His ideal companions are the type who understand the value of a good nap and some personal space.
His foster describes him as incredibly low maintenance. After a little exploring, he is perfectly happy to find a comfortable spot and relax. Apartment living would suit him just fine, but honestly, Glover is adaptable enough to thrive in many different types of homes. What seems most important to him is having a person nearby, a few toys and a peaceful place to call his own.
If your idea of a perfect companion is a sweet senior with good manners, a collection of favorite toys, and a calm presence that makes every day a little easier, Glover is exactly who you've been looking for.
