NAME:  Ladybug BREED:  Cavapoo SEX:  female COLOR:  Apricot/cream AGE:  16 months as of Sept 2026 WEIGHT:  9.8 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME: Meet Ladybug!  Ladybug is a 16-month-old Cavapoo weighing just 9.8 pounds, and she’s just beginning her journey with Canine Castaways. Ladybug came to us through an owner surrender, and right now she’s understandably a little unsure about all the changes in her world. She is very shy, but there doesn’t appear to be an aggressive bone in her body. Ladybug needs a little time to watch, adjust, and figure out that the people around her mean her no harm. So far, she’s been good with other dogs, and having canine friends around may help give her confidence as she settles into her new surroundings. Because Ladybug is brand new to us, we’re still getting to know her. We don’t yet know all the little things that will eventually make up her story: what makes her tail wag the hardest, her favorite treats, whether she’s a couch potato or a secret zoomie champion, or exactly what kind of family will ultimately be her perfect match.    If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. NAME:  Martin BREED:  Shih Tzu mix SEX:  Male COLOR:  white/brown AGE:  2 yrs as of July 2026 WEIGHT:  9.6 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME: Meet Martin!  Martin is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing just 9 pounds, and right now he's still letting us in on the little secrets of who he is. Martin is a shy boy who likes to take his time getting comfortable with new people and new surroundings. He isn't looking to be the center of attention. He's much more interested in finding a soft bed, stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine, and quietly watching the world go by. And honestly, Martin may be onto something.  He enjoys treats and occasionally lets loose for a little playtime with his friend Gibson, giving us glimpses of the more playful personality hiding underneath that shy exterior. When Martin was found, his coat was extremely matted and desperately needed some TLC. Despite everything he had been through, he was a very good boy for his grooming. Because Martin is still new to Canine Castaways, were continuing to learn about him. We don't yet know all his favorite things, his funny little quirks, or exactly what his perfect home will look like. But were starting to see pieces of him. Martin doesn't need someone who expects him to show them everything on the first day. He needs someone willing to give him a little time and enjoy discovering who he becomes once he knows he's safe. Some dogs arrive ready to tell you their whole story. Martin is giving us his one page at a time. Story
Chewie is a sweet, vocal, and very energetic boy. He loves to play, and barks a lot. I originally bought him from Florida Puppies Online down in Ft Myers. He was sold to me as a mini poodle, but I highly suspect there is dachshund not too far back in his line, though I have never tested him. He was born November 7th, 2021, making him 5 this year. Why am I rehoming? For reasons hard to explain, Chewie has been very suspicious of men and strangers in general, my husband especially. We don’t think we’re able to accommodate him being this skittish much more, which is why we’ve decided it’s best to re-home to someone who is able to calm him down and help his fear of people.

Story
Hi, I'm Jazz! (You might also know me as Arwin, but my foster mom took one look at my personality and decided Jazz fits me perfectly — and honestly? She's not wrong.) I'm a gorgeous black toy poodle girl, 4 years old and weighing in at a mighty 8 lbs of pure energy and charm. Don't let my size fool you — my foster mom says I have a poodle puppy personality, and after spending five minutes with me, you'll totally get it. I am one smart cookie — I've already mastered sit, shake, and coming when called, and my foster mom says I pick things up fast. I'm fully potty trained and even figured out the puppy pads on my own (though I usually prefer to handle my business outside like a lady). Crates? Not my thing. And being alone too long? Also not my thing. I'm a people dog through and through — I want to be right next to my human, always. My favorite things include: my toys (I carry them EVERYWHERE), chasing my ball, zooming around the yard, racing my foster poodle brother (he's fast — but I keep up), belly rubs, cuddles, and greeting absolutely everyone I meet with maximum tail wags and enthusiasm. I get along great with other dogs, and I'd do wonderfully with older, dog-savvy kids! Fair warning — I do bark when I want someone's attention, and I get a little excited around other people and dogs on leash. I'm working on my manners! Also, I love a good busy bone... but I do NOT share. Just so we know where we stand. I arrived into rescue heartworm positive, but I'm in the final stage of treatment and expected to make a full recovery — I'll be ready to zoom into my forever home very soon! If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, velcro poodle who will be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your personal entertainment — that's ME. Story
Hi there, I’m Hermie! I’m a sweet 5-year-old poodle mix boy weighing just 11 pounds, and I’m looking for that one special person to be my whole world. I’m very loving and affectionate with excellent manners – I’m house-trained, crate-trained, sleep in my own bed like a gentleman, and I’m even polite enough to wait until other dogs finish eating before checking for crumbs! I ride well in the car, walk great on a leash, and I get along with other dogs. And I LOVE to sit on the back of the couch and play with my toys! Now, here’s what makes me unique: I’m a one-person kind of guy who forms a VERY deep bond with my human. When I love, I love big! I can be a bit protective of my special person and I’m not always thrilled about strangers getting too close – I like to keep my circle small and my devotion big. Because of this, I need an experienced adopter who appreciates a pup with a strong personality and can guide me with confidence. I have been living in multi-dog foster homes recently and I’m learning to share my human’s attention so I think a calm, adult-only home with at least one other dog or multiple dogs would be ideal for me. No kids, please. Oh, and I eat a special Rx food due to a sensitive stomach – just a little detail to keep me feeling my best! I’m ready to be someone’s devoted companion and shadow. Are you ready for some serious loyalty? Apply to adopt me using this adoption application link: https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp ADOPTION FEE: $350.

Story
Hi, I’m Gio! I’m an 8-year-old Maltipoo boy, 10.6 pounds of sweetness, and I have become a total Lover Boy! I came back to rescue because my person could no longer afford my care and I can’t wait to find my new family. I have limited vision, but I learned to navigate my previous home using my hearing and my nose, and with a patient family, I’m sure I can do the same in my new home. I’m confident little boy. I’m great with dogs, cats, and kids, and I love my people right back. I’m housebroken and will let you know when I need to go outside by heading toward the door or making a little noise to get your attention. I know several commands, including “go potty” and “go to bed.” I might need a potty refresher in my new home as I learn to navigate a new floor plan…speaking of a home without many steps would be ideal. I’m not much of a traditional leash walker since I cannot see my surroundings but when my person places me down, I can usually follow along. I’m also a good car rider! I just need a little time to settle in before I’m ready to relax in my bed. When I was first adopted, I was shy and wasn’t comfortable being held or cuddled. But somewhere along the way I discovered how wonderful being loved can be. Now I love being close to my people, cuddling on the couch, and giving kisses. I may bark when someone is outside or when my person leaves, but once I know everything is okay, I settle right down. At bedtime, I sleep in my own bed near my person’s bed. Recently, I’ve started asking to join my human on the big bed, too! I put my front paws up on the side when I want to be lifted up. Once I’m there, I’m very careful moving around, but because I can’t judge depth and then I need help getting back down. I can also hop onto the couch, but I need help getting down. I’m a sweet, affectionate little guy who has learned that being close to my people is my favorite thing. I don’t need to see you to know that I’m loved — I can hear you, smell you, and feel right at home beside you. I’m looking for a patient forever person who will appreciate my sweet nature, keep me safe, and let me be the devoted little companion I was meant to be. Could you be my forever home? Story
Hi there, I’m Gertie! I’m a 10-years young, 9lb Miniature Poodle with a whole lot of love to give. My favorite hobbies are snuggling, giving kisses, and being your shadow — I am truly a love bug through and through. FCCR rescued me from a local shelter…I am not sure how I ended up there but it was a rough time. I love my adult humans - especially cuddling with them - and I think I would probably do ok with gentle, older kids (12+). I thrive best when my humans are home or with me most of the time. I am sad when my humans leave (and will cry or bark) so no condos for me. I’m also not a fan of thunderstorms - who is really?! - and want my humans close by to comfort me. I am going to try a thundershirt so I hope that helps. I get along great with other dogs; I have not met any felines yet. I walk nicely on a leash and do ok in the car. I enjoy meal time and wish it occurred more frequently through out the day! I take my treats like a little lady. I have good house manners and working on mastering my potty-training skill. I’m very close and improving every day with patience and consistency — I will do best with a family who’s home often to help me get outside frequently. If you think you might be my perfect match, I’d love to meet you! You can fill out an adoption application here: https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp Adoption fee: $325

Story
🧡 Meet Lucy – A Tender-Hearted Survivor Looking for Love 🧡 Lucy is a 3-year-old spayed female who was rescued from a severe hoarding situation along with over 30 other dogs. She's gentle, quiet, and incredibly resilient despite everything she’s been through. This sweet girl is not leash-trained yet, but she is pad trained and very gentle when hand-fed. She's learning to eat from a bowl and starting to explore life outside her comfort zone. Lucy enjoys being held and seems to find comfort in gentle lap time and petting — her favorite spot is a soft dog bed in a quiet corner. Lucy is not aggressive and has never growled or snapped, even under stress. She’s shy and will need someone with patience and experience with unsocialized or hoarded dogs to help her continue her journey to healing. What Lucy Needs in a Home: A calm, quiet household (no young children, please) A fenced yard with a smaller, secure potty area Another kind and confident dog to help her learn the ropes A person or family with patience, love, and a gentle routine Lucy is currently being housed with her friend Ethel, and they have begun to be separated to encourage independence. This is a special girl who didn’t ask for the circumstances she came from — but she deserves the very best going forward. If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who will reward your patience with quiet loyalty and love, Lucy is ready to begin her new chapter. 📍 Located in Bradenton, FL 📩 Apply to adopt at ewenityfarmsbch.com
