Story
Biscottie is a sweet senior miniature Poodle about 12 years old. He weighs 16 pounds. He can't hear and he has some cataracts, but can still see pretty well. All he wants is a person to love that will give him back scratches. Biscottie does a little dance when you scratch his backside. He is neutered, up to date on shots, just had a dental and microchipped.

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee: $125.00   Hi there! This is Crouton, a poodle mix, he is about 13 years old and weighs about 13 pounds, he showed up at animal control as a stray, unfortunately, his microchip did not lead to his family, he was very thin and not well.   He is getting to know his foster family but he follows his foster mom around the house and sitting next to her on the couch. He is deaf, but very alert, and watches everything going on around him.  He is not house trained, he needs to wear a belly band, but will do great on walks.  His meds causes him to need to urinate a lot, so it works best to have the use of the belly bands.  He sleeps thru the night, getting all the rest he needs.   He has been diagnosed with IBS, so that means he needs to be on a special diet.  He is on temporary meds until the IBS can be brought under control, it can be controlled with a good diet.   He does have a couple of growths that need to be removed, but the doctor does not think they are anything to worry about, so when that is done and he has gained some weight, he will be ready for adoption.   He does get along with the dogs in the foster home, but he will try to eat food that is not his, so it will be important to keep him separated at meal time.  Crouton is waiting Gainesville, FL for his forever family to take him home Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Casper foster update:    Casper and Mack have been back with us for about a week.   They are happy boys and while they sleep quite a bit, they also love to be outside and with their people.    They can get quite loud so would probably be best in a home without shared walls.    While they are housetrained for the most part, we have noticed some marking and have seen Casper use a pee pad.    They can be very underfoot so this needs to be taken into consideration by any prospective adopters.     Being distinguished seniors, they have their share of lumps and bumps as is to be expected.    Casper, more than Mack, does have some vision and hearing loss and he can be apprehensive about the one step we have at our house so we would also recommend a one story home for them.  Casper came to PRBJ from a high kill shelter in search of a second chance.  He is a sweet senior pup hoping to win your heart.  He does well with other dogs and loves people.  He is looking for a quiet retirement so a home with no small kids and limited traffic. Mack and Casper lost their mom recently and were brought to Judy.     They are adorable furbabies and should be adopted together so they do not have even more loss in their lives.    We would like them to have a fenced yard.   They love running around in the yard and are so joyful doing so.      They run around in the yard and then are ready for a good nap!   We are still learning about them as they just arrived and will up date their pages as we learn more.    They will both require "hair care" so any potential adopter will need to be up for that!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2025, 2:58 pm

Story
Max was my first pet and we got Ace 2 months later to share each other’s company. it was perfect. They were my first babies and were treated as such. Enjoys cuddles and curling up on the sofa with you. Max and Ace became brothers- joined at the hip, fought like brothers but also made up quickly and missed the other if they other had an appointment or was gone. They are inseparable and essentially co-dependent. Max does struggle with loud noises and anxiety and wants to stay close to you or hides for that reason. He is good with older kids. Ace loves to play with other dogs and little ones. I have a little baby now who is just starting to move about and this makes Max very anxious. For this reason it is safest to rehome them Both to a family that can accommodate them both - one that would be kind and loving . This breaks my heart to do. And so I need to be sure the adopting family would care for them as I would . I would suggest children older than 8 if present in the home.
