Story
Hello, my name is Rusty. I’m a breeder release and life is still pretty new and a little overwhelming for me, but with time and kindness, I’m learning what it means to feel safe and loved. I’m shy around people because I didn’t get much socialization early in life. But don’t worry—once I warm up, I become shyly playful, especially with my foster mom. I’m still figuring out this whole “being loved” thing, and patient humans make all the difference. I live with cats and dogs. I can be a little picky with my playmates. I prefer female dogs. My potty training is still a work in progress, but I’m trying my best every day. I am not currently leash trained but working on it. I have not pottied on a leash. Best in a fenced yard. Kids may be too much for me as fast movements scare me. So no kids please. If you’re patient, gentle, and have a sweet dog who wouldn’t mind a soft-hearted sidekick, I might just choose you as my special person. 📨 Apply to adopt at: www.campcompanion.org 💲 Adoption fee: $350 plus tax

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Daisy came to us on 10/4/2025 with her housemate Biscuit, after the death of their owner. The two girls could be related in some way as there were a lot of dogs in the home. Daisy kind of looks like a scruffy poodle/terrier type mix. She's approximately 3 years old and has now been fully vetted. She is part of a bonded pair with Biscuit and the fee for both of them is $250. We are truly hoping to adopt Daisy and Biscuit as a bonded pair as they have always been together and are attached to each other. They even reside in the same pen at our shelter. Both girls are pretty shy with new people, which is why it has taken us so long to get them up for adoption. They are playful and fun loving once they're comfortable with people. They will require patience and some basic training. They're looking for an adult only home. Teens are fine. They have had no exposure to cats.  FENCED YARD REQUIRED. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.  We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 23, 2026, 8:32 pm

Story
Meet Suzy Q 💕 Suzy Q is a shy but very sweet 3-year-old Bichon who came to rescue as a breeder release and is now ready to start her best life. Once she feels safe, her fun personality shines—she loves to play with other dogs, run around, and enjoy her toys. She would be happiest in a home with one or two playful dog friends to help build her confidence. Suzy does well with cats and enjoys a calmer environment. Because she’s on the shy side, she may not be the best match for homes with small children. She can be a flight risk if doors aren’t carefully managed, so a secure, fenced yard is important at this time. She is currently working on leash training and housebreaking, and she’s making progress with patience and routine. At night, Suzy’s favorite place is snuggled in bed with her people. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful companion who will thrive with another dog and a loving home, Suzy Q may be your girl. 🐾 Apply to adopt: www.campcompanion.org 💲 Adoption fee: $350 plus tax
