Story
(08/05/2013) If you are looking for a well-mannered paw-fect senior pair, these two are truly a daily gift. Meet Sandy and Shadow! They remind me daily to enjoy the life I have been given and to do it with them This potty-trained duo are mature, loveble, intelligent, and happy friends who have lived together for years. They are ready to devote their best years to a fantastic family! Whether yal are retired, have children over 8 years old Shadow & Sandy are the right age for anyone interested in sharing their daily life with this special canine pair. They do love children.  Sandy, the taller of the two woman’s and /or man’s best friends, appears to be about 7-8yr. Shadow, predominantly a short black and white cutie, is perhaps 10yy. They are known to be healthy overall, have been fully vetted, enjoy walks under our beautiful NC skies, enjoy a car ride, and know how to use a dog door. They also would say “Yes” to…a fenced yard. If you seek these pastimes: cuddling, watching pooches twist in delight when booties are scratched, relish in the pleasure of a relaxing afternoon in bed when it is raining or snowing, being the recipient of pooch smooches, and look forward to playing with stuffies, look no further! PS. – If you usually ride shotgun, you may have competition or… a guest on your lap.  As part of Sandy & Shadow's bonded $400 (for both) adoption fee, they arebe spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl and boy,  you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sandy and Shadow, you can fill in an online application for them under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1811010##

Story
(DOB 08/28/2022) Puff's story is one for the books. He once led a daring mission to liberate a roast chicken from the kitchen counter. Unfortunately, his plan was foiled when he slipped on a banana peel, sending the chicken flying and landing him in the shelter. His antics didn't stop there. Puff is known for his playful energy, often seen leading the shelter's "invisible squirrel chase". But don't let his goofy antics fool you, Puff is a loyal, sweet, and cuddly companion who would love to bring laughter and joy to your home. His gentle nature makes him perfect for families, and his energetic spirit is great for those who love to play. Puff is a dog with the spirit of a lion and the gentleness of a lamb. Right now we are still getting to know all about our new foster Puff and all of his likes and dislikes. He is a little timid around strangers but warms up with patience and kindness. He may need to be an only dog or might do okay with smaller breeds; he isn't a fan of bigger pups. He definitely needs more leash experiences that are slowly introducing him to positive behavior. He is still barking and not behaving like a true gentleman when seeing other people or dogs. A solid fenced in yard would be required.   Puff's regular routine kinda goes like this; Puff is fed two times a day. He goes out to potty at least every four hours. He gets plenty of play time with his foster family throughout the day along with some yummy treats. He would do best with a family that has someone home a good chunk of the day because he does love to be with his people. He sleeps on his bed in a separate room and does not need to be crated. He is already house broken, so a another bonus for Puff! Puff is good with children and has not meet cats. He would likely be very happy to be the one and only pet in the home to soak up all the love, laughter and attention you have to offer! Adopt Puff and let the fun times roll! As part of Puff’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Puff, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2163168##

Story
Hi! I'm Marley! A sweet little guy with a heart of gold. I am 11, but I love to romp around with a good toy. My favorite pastimes are snuggling on the couch, snuggles on the bed, snuggles on the floor. I'm basically a love bug. I have super good manners and will only potty outside. I will let you know by standing at the door and barking =) I am polite to other dogs, cats, and kids, as long as I can sniff them to say hello first! I am currently not fixed, but have my appointment all lined up. In the meantime, I need to be reminded of my manners around the ladies. I would love a human that can spend lots of time with me, I don't like being alone too much. I am good on my leash and LOVE car rides!! I enjoy sniffing around the yard and exploring my surroundings. I am an older guy, who loves everyone, but I need a gentle family as I am older. I need kids who understand I need gentle love!! I am healthy and happy, and ready for my perfect family. Are you interested in adopting Marley or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. Story
PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRES! Mia, is a 6 year old spayed female purebred poodle. She's very loving and needs a stable home where she can get all the care that she deserves. Mia is very nervous around dogs who are rambunctious and play rough, she will do well around a calmer companion. She loves cats! Mia is a healthy and happy dog. She loves laying around with her owner and get cuddles. She also enjoys walks. There is a rehoming fee that if absolutely necessary can be adjusted. It is more important to find the right person/family.
