Story
(08/05/2013) If you are looking for a well-mannered paw-fect senior pair, these two are truly a daily gift. Meet Sandy and Shadow! They remind me daily to enjoy the life I have been given and to do it with them This potty-trained duo are mature, loveble, intelligent, and happy friends who have lived together for years. They are ready to devote their best years to a fantastic family! Whether yal are retired, have children over 8 years old Shadow & Sandy are the right age for anyone interested in sharing their daily life with this special canine pair. They do love children. Little Shadow has a new little, baby kitten friend which is very cute. Sandy, the taller of the two woman’s and /or man’s best friends, appears to be about 7-8yr. Shadow, predominantly a short black and white cutie, is perhaps 10yy. They are known to be healthy overall, have been fully vetted, enjoy walks under our beautiful NC skies, enjoy a car ride, and know how to use a dog door. They also would say “Yes” to…a fenced yard. If you seek these pastimes: cuddling, watching pooches twist in delight when booties are scratched, relish in the pleasure of a relaxing afternoon in bed when it is raining or snowing, being the recipient of pooch smooches, and look forward to playing with stuffies, look no further! PS. – If you usually ride shotgun, you may have competition or… a guest on your lap.  As part of Sandy & Shadow's bonded $400 (for both) adoption fee, they arebe spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl and boy,  you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Sandy and Shadow, you can fill in an online application for them under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1811010##

Story
(DOB 06/30/2016) Chewy has the cutest playtime habits, and he will grab his toys and run outside and toss them for himself, and he will do the most adorable happy spins when he's excited. Chewy would love some children in his home (6+ yrs) that want several daily doses of doggie playtime. Chewy is also in need of a fenced yard (4ft+ solid panel/small gaps), so he can run, rump and retrieve. He loves fetch, too. Oh, and, Chewy loves playing with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a doggie friend that can match his energy and playful spirit. He play-nips (never bites!) and is very gentle, even with his much older Shih Tzu foster sibling. How darling is that? More great things about Chewy - his little size packs a big heart and an even bigger personality! He's a total sweetheart who absolutely loves cuddles and belly rubs. Whether he's curled up beside you on the couch or snuggled in your lap, Chewy is happiest when he’s close to his humans. He’ll gladly sleep on the sofa or in bed with you, and he would much rather be with you than crated (especially when he knows you’re home).  Chewy is, also, super smart and eager to please. He knows phrases like “Want to go outside?”, and recognizes it’s time for a car ride when you grab his leash—he rides great in the backseat, too!  Chewy does not love the sound of thunder and will need you to be patient and understanding. He is house and crate trained and is working on walking nicely on a leash. He’s never chewed on anything that isn’t his, and he hasn’t destroyed a thing while in foster care. When introducing Chewy to new people, give him some time and let him be slowly introduced without a lot of rushy-rushy. Keep it cool, calm, and slow...that's the way to go.  Chewy is a lovable, silly, loyal companion who would make a wonderful addition to a family ready for fun, play, and lots of snuggles. Come meet this special boy—you’re sure to fall in love! As part of Chewy’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this handsome pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Chewy, you can complete an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org ##2457783##

NOTE: Please read our entire write-up before contacting us. If you don't know the age, breed, weight, what vet care we provide our dogs, the adoption fee, or how to apply, you have not read the write-up. Dulcie Breed: Poodle mix Gender: Female, spayed DOB: 11-7-2023 Weight: approx. pounds Microchipped Adoption Fee: $400 We love little Dulcie! Once she gets to know you, she is all about her people! She is eager to please, eager to play, and eager to slumber during quiet time! All around, she's a lot of fun and a wonderful companion! Dulcie is a wonderful little dog who had a few challenges before we got her! She had been hit by a car and broke her pelvis. She recovered from her pelvis injury, but once we were given the all-clear to groom her, it was discovered she had also broken her left foot! She had a severely luxating patella on the same leg and we had that repaired. The vet examined the foot at that time and it was determined the foot did not require further intervention. So, she's a great little dog who can walk and run who often holds up her leg when she is tired. We are seeking an adults-only home for Dulcie that will take her for the walks she loves and on outings to pet friendly locations! She LOVES people, loves other dogs and is a happy companion! Can you guess her favorite game? FETCH! She could play this all day, if allowed! She's a cray cray girl when it comes to playing fetch! This little girl is a fantastic dog who is just looking for the right people to call family! Story
🌟 Meet Scamp — 12-Year-Old Poodle Mix & Gentle Soul 🌟 Scamp is a 12-year-old poodle mix with soft ears, a tiny frame, and the sweetest, calmest energy. He’s a quiet little guy who loves cozy spots, soft blankets, and a peaceful home. 💛 Personality Scamp is slow to warm up and needs patience and gentle handling at first. But once he feels safe, he becomes your best friend — a true lap buddy, cuddle buddy, couch partner, and walking buddy. And the best part? Once he trusts you, he’ll hop right into your lap on his own, like he’s been doing it his whole life. 🐾 What He Likes • Short, relaxed walks • Sniffing the yard • Cozy naps • Soft treats • Quiet companionship 🐶🐱 With Other Pets Scamp does well with other dogs and cats, but mostly ignores them. He’s polite but not looking for a playmate — he’s perfectly happy as an only dog or coexisting calmly with other pets. 🌿 Health He has a heart murmur, but it doesn’t affect his daily life. It just needs to be monitored as part of his routine vet care. 🏡 Ideal Home A calm, patient home where Scamp can settle in slowly. If you give him time, he’ll give you his whole heart.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet PeeWee! PeeWee came into the shelter as a stray, and the poor little guy was in rough shape. We were told he was a poodle, but honestly, he looked more like a tiny walking cotton ball — a very dirty one! His coat was so severely matted that he had to be fully sedated just to be groomed. PeeWee is a very sweet and loving  2-year-old, 17-pound male poodle terrier mix, and he’s currently located in Middlesex, North Carolina. He is up to date on vaccines and neutered.  He is ready for his new home.   He deserves a home where he will be cherished, kept clean and safe, and never neglected again. If you’re looking for a lovable little companion who just wants to be part of a family, PeeWee might be the perfect match. Apply to adopt PeeWee through Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue!  We do not transport dogs outside of the RDU area. https://rainbowbridgerescue.org/applications/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 8:20 am
