You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Bruno. Bruno has been with DASH for almost 2 years trying to overcome his previous life, which we believe included some abuse. He was set to be euthanized at another shelter before the rescue stepped in to help this misunderstood pup. He has come such a long way, but is still very shy and still only likes to be handled on his terms. He is really great for the groomer and he is housebroken and crate trained. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, but a big pack would not be his cup of tea. Another confident dog in his new home would be perfect. He is very sweet, and will need someone who understands this boy will continue to need some patience and love and some one on one time. 🐾 Meet Casper! 🐾 Casper is a small, gentle, shy dog looking for a calm, patient forever home. He’s cautious around new people; especially males but once he trusts you, he’s affectionate and loving. Quick facts: Small, easy to handle Potty trained & leash trained Neutered male Does well with other dogs, no experience with cats Best with a single owner or a couple No children in the home Needs a quiet, predictable environment Why he’s looking for a home: Military move overseas only allows two dogs. Story
Meet BLUE, an adorable young poodle looking for a home. Blue is about 14 months old and fully grown. He's currently 9 pounds but should be around 11 pounds, which puts him in the Miniature Poodle range. Blue got his name because of his one blue eye. Little Blue is a playful boy who loves his toys. He's a bit of a velcro dog who loves to cuddle but he's also very active. He's housebroken and crate trained but is not fond of being crated, when you read his back story, you'll understand why. Blue was purchased as a puppy from a breeder by someone who wanted to become a backyard breeder. Apparently they changed their mind and gave him to someone else who didn't know how to housebreak him so they dumped him outside. The outcome was predictable, Blue was hit by a car. His owners took him to a vet where they discovered he had a broken pelvis. They elected NOT to treat him. Instead they put him in a crate for 3 months (hence his unhappiness in his crate). As a result, poor Blue did not heal properly. Unfortunately it's now too late to correct the issue, but fortunately he navigates life just fine, he runs around and plays and enjoys life. He could have arthritis issues someday but right now he's a perfectly happy little guy. Blue needs a home with no large dogs or small kids but would be perfectly fine with other small dogs. He's a poodle so he MUST be groomed regularly, his adopter should be prepared for that expense. If you'd like to meet Blue, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. After spending his first few years living outdoors, Rowdy, a 3-year-old poodle mix, is finally ready to enjoy the good life indoors—complete with cozy beds, gentle cuddles, and as many belly rubs as he can handle. Rowdy is a laid-back, easygoing little guy who would thrive with a family that’s home often or one that loves bringing their furry friend along for adventures. He’s a sweet little shadow, happiest when he can follow his people from room to room just to stay close. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. Rowdy is housebroken, though he may have an accident if his cues are missed. He experiences separation anxiety and continues to build confidence through crate training.
