ABOUT ME…
Hi there! I’m Andarna, but you can call me Annie. I’m about 18 pounds, but I’m still a little underweight and may not be fully grown. I was dumped by my previous family at a vet’s office and found my way into a foster family. They really wanted to keep me, but unfortunately, their dog is having some health issues that resulted in her and me not getting along all that well. Don’t worry, though - I get along GREAT with all other dogs! I’ve been with my foster family since February, so they know me prettyyyyy well and have lots of notes to share with my forever family 😃 Some fun facts about me - I have one half-blue eye and I love chew toys, food puzzles, playing tug, affection, and splashing in puddles!
I AM GREAT WITH…
Dogs and adults! My foster paw-rents were told that I also get on well with children and cats, they just haven’t seen that firsthand.
I AM STILL WORKING ON…
Training and manners. Occasionally, I still have an accident inside, but as long as you keep me on a schedule, I do just fine. I can go 8 hours overnight and about 4-6 hours during the day, but usually I need to go out right after a meal. I am very jumpy, but with patience and training, that should decrease. I can walk very politely on the leash, and with consistent training that will become my usual leash manners. I’m very food motivated and would recommend getting a treat pouch so you always have a reward for me handy! I used to be terrified of my crate, but I do pretty good in it now. I sleep there overnight and when my foster paw-rents aren’t home. My foster paw-rents can show you how we play crate games to help me get more comfortable with it!
I AM NOT GOOD WITH…
Keeping my teeth to myself - remember, I am still a puppy! I will chew up anything you put in my crate. Your pillows and blankets are not safe around me. Sometimes I’ll even nibble on clothes 😅 Keep strengthening my “leave it” cue, and this will be no problem in no time!
I REQUIRE…
A home with people who will dedicate time to training, enrichment, and grooming. I have a LOT of energy that needs a productive outlet, and I love jumping, so I would make a great agility dog! I do not require a fenced in yard as long as you’ll take me out on plenty of adventures, but if you do have a fenced in yard I can only be loose in it if it is at least 5 feet tall and has no gaps (my foster family has a 4 foot tall puppy pen and I am this close to jumping it). My fur was not in great shape when my foster paw-rents got me, so they have been working on desensitizing me to grooming tools. My fur mats easily. Depending on how much grooming you’ll do at home, I’ll need to see a groomer every 1-2 months.
