Macy came to DASH from a rural shelter in southern Ohio and is currently in our DASH Prison Program where she is working on learning her basic commands, crate training, socialization skills. This girl is so sweet and friendly, loves meeting new people and dogs. She is housebroken in the prison setting and loves to run and play. She hasn't mastered all of her commands, so her new family will need to continue to help her with those. She walks well on a leash. Her one quirk is that she has decided that getting into the trash is a favorite past time, and while her handler is working with her to learn trash is not something to play in, her new family will need to be aware of this and make sure that she cannot have access to trash of any kind. She has not been kid or cat tested, so proper introductions would be needed for both. She is just a goofy, loveable girl who is ready to find her perfect person or family. Meet Rocket 💗🐾 Rocket is a Miniature Poodle who was born in September, 2021 and weighs 14 pounds. Rocket is shy. He can be nippy if someone swoops in too quickly and scares him. We are working on this and he is improving. If you are patient and get down on his level, he warms up and enjoys cuddling and interacting. He is clearly very curious and wants to get involved, but is timid initially. He is friendly with other dogs. He also was found to have severe dental disease and had to have all but 8 teeth pulled. Rocket is a recent arrival from a high volume breeder in Amish country and probably aged out of the baby makin' business. Being rescued from a high volume breeder doesn't mean there is anything wrong, The dog could have been the wrong color, size, fur, whatever or now retired from breeding. We are lucky enough to work with a vet in the area who cares enough to scoop up these dogs and get them adopted instead of ........?? Adoption fee is $400 All Ashland County Humane Society animals' adoption fees include: ~spay/neuter ~micro-chip ~de-worming ~vaccinations, including rabies ~heartworm prevention If you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit: www.ashlandhumane.org/adoption-application (copy and paste link to address bar) for a printable application.
