Story
Kaley Q’s story is one of resilience, healing, and learning how to love life again. This sweet girl came to us in absolutely devastating condition with a severe leg injury that left her unable to use it. Watching her transform from hurting and struggling into the happy, playful dog she is today has been nothing short of incredible. Now at 11 years old, Kaley Q is back to feeling like herself again — and honestly, you’d never guess her age! She’s active, playful, and completely obsessed with meeting new people. Everywhere she goes, she’s ready to make a new best friend and soak up all the attention she can get. Kaley Q was also diagnosed with Lyme disease and is currently undergoing treatment, but she continues to tackle every challenge with a wagging tail and a positive spirit. Kaley Q is proof that age is just a number. She still has so much love, life, and joy ahead of her, and she’s hoping to spend it in a forever home surrounded by people who adore her as much as we do. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving companion with a heart of gold, Kaley Q is ready to meet you.

Story
At 12 years old, Dimitri has been through more than most dogs ever should. After a long journey to get back on his feet, this resilient senior boy is finally ready to find the forever home he deserves. Dimitri is currently doing amazing and soaking up every bit of comfort and kindness that comes his way. Along his journey, he was diagnosed with anaplasmosis, Lyme disease, and ehrlichiosis, so he’ll need an adopter who understands that senior dogs sometimes need a little extra care and a lot of extra love. What Dimitri dreams of most is simple — soft blankets, fluffy beds, gentle affection, and a peaceful home where he can finally relax and enjoy life. Despite everything he’s endured, he still has so much love left to give. If you’re looking for a sweet soul to spoil rotten and give the golden years he’s always deserved, Dimitri is waiting patiently to meet you.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Special Needs Girl - Has Hypothyroidism & Cushing's Disease Hello world, my name is Angel and yes I am one sweet angel of a girl. My mom kinda over loved me with people food, and as long as she gave it to me, I ate it. My mom can no longer care for me, so I am looking for a new home.  I am a girl of 9 years old and right now I am weighing in at 26lbs. Need to get that down to 20-23lbs. I am looking for a laid back home where someone is not gone for long hours and can get me outside potty every few hours and maybe take me on a daily walk. No stairs in the home please and prefer no children. I am a girl that will need to go to the grooming salon on a regular basis to keep my puppyish looks because everyone says I am a cutie pie. I will follow you around the house just to be near you. I would love to sit with you on the couch or on your lap. I am a loyal, loving girl.I do take Levothyroxine for my thyroid about $15 a month, and the supplement Melatonin for Cushing's about $10 a month    If interested, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:  adoption application For those viewing on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal please click on More About Rose's Rescue, you may fill out adoption application from there. Story
Meet Rocket 💗🐾Rocket is a sweet older gentleman, born in September 2021, who is ready to find a calm and loving forever home. He weighs 14 pounds. Rocket does like other dogs, but he tends to prefer female dogs. He would also likely do well in a home with cats. Since he is a little more timid, Rocket would do best in a quieter home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. This sweet boy would make an excellent lap dog. He is looking for someone who wants a gentle companion to snuggle with and spoil. ❤️ He recently had a dental cleaning and did have most of his teeth removed, but don’t let that fool you. Rocket still gets along just fine with the 8 teeth he has left! He may need softer food or smaller bites, but he is adjusting well and still has plenty of love to give.Rocket is a recent arrival from a high volume breeder in Amish country and probably aged out of the baby makin' business. Being rescued from a high volume breeder doesn't mean there is anything wrong, The dog could have been the wrong color, size, fur, whatever or now retired from breeding. We are lucky enough to work with a vet in the area who cares enough to scoop up these dogs and get them adopted instead of ........?? Adoption fee is $350All Ashland County Humane Society animals' adoption fees include:~spay/neuter~micro-chip~de-worming~vaccinations, including rabies~heartworm preventionIf you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit:www.ashlandhumane.org/adoption-application(copy and paste link to address bar) for a printable application.Complete and email back to applications@AshlandHumane.orgWe are an all volunteer-based organization that does not have a building or a staff, only 8 members with jobs and families, trying to make a difference. Story
Meet Bernard, our sweet little deaf and blind poodle mix is looking for his Furever homeBernard is around 8 years old and about 15 lbs. Once he feels comfortable with you, he turns into the sweetest cuddly little bug. He does well with both dogs and cats, and he is housebroken when his signals are understood and he’s given consistent attention.Deaf and blind dogs can still live very happy, full lives. They just need a little extra supportKeeping their environment consistent and maintaining a predictable routine is key. Safety is also important, especially making sure stairs and hazards are properly blocked off.Since Bernard can’t see or hear, he relies heavily on touch and scent. Gentle, consistent touch helps build trust and communication, and familiar scents (like bedding or favorite items) help him feel secure and confident.A friendly “helper dog” in the home is a must for guidance, confidence, and companionship. Most importantly, he thrives on patience, love, and reassurance. Once he feels safe, he forms incredibly strong bonds and truly blossoms. If interested in Bernard, apply at www.allaboutthepawz.comLocated in Youngstown, Ohio

Story
Say hello to Fozzie Bear (aka Fuzz Bucket or FB), a fuzzy half sheep, half muppet dog who’s 95 percent the sweetest boy and 5 percent a spicy little turd. Fozzie is about 8.5 years old and around 10 pounds, and we think he’s probably a Poodle mix of some kind (maybe Poodle-Shih Tzu?). He came into rescue after his owner passed away. Fozzie is mostly a typical dog who loves to go on walks and play with toys. He enjoys running around in the yard, but a home without a fenced yard wouldn’t be a deal-breaker as long as he got enough on-leash time outside. He seems to be fully house trained and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home. What he needs more than anything is a home with patience. Fozzie’s biggest challenge is that he’s got some guarding behaviors, so he can get a little snippy under specific circumstances, like when he’s laying next to one person on the couch, and another person tries to pet him or get him off the couch. His evil twin also sometimes shows up at the groomer or the vet, and occasionally around food if other dogs enter his personal space. His little outbursts are relatively few and far between as long as he stays on his medications (fluoxetine and trazodone), and outside of the occasional tiff with the house dogs, he’s done pretty well with all of them. He desperately wants to be friends with the house Chihuahua, but she’s also a bit of a turd and so that hasn’t worked out so well for Fozzie. She’s toothless and still manages to boss him around somehow. Despite his imperfections, Fozzie is a wonderful little dog with a ton of love to give. Here’s what we think he needs in a new home to be successful: - An adult-only home. We think children won’t have the maturity to understand that dogs are allowed to have boundaries, too. - A home where someone is around most of the time. Fozzie can be an insecure little fella, and being alone too long stresses him out. He’s never been destructive in any way, even with run of the house, but he’s not the kind of dog who would be happy or comfortable being home alone for 8 or 10 hours several days a week. - A home with dog experience that is willing to work with and around his quirks. Fozzie and his previous owner worked very successfully with a trainer, so he’s definitely trainable. His foster mom and dad have found him totally manageable! - A home without other dogs OR with other dogs his size. We could see his mouth writing checks his butt can’t cash with larger dogs. If there are other dogs in the home, intros should be slow, and ideally, he could be kept somewhere separate while the humans are away just in case. If you love cute, curly little dogs and are ready for the most rewarding challenge ever, Fozzie Bear is your man! ———————————————————- The adoption donation for Fozzie Bear is $250. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Mahoning County/Columbiana County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. If you live in a residence with a Homeowner’s Association (HOA) please make sure you check that the dog you are interested in does not violate size or breed restrictions. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog. We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit. —————————- Our applications can be found by clicking on the “adoption application” link at https://apaprescue.com Our primary form of communication is email. Please check your spam/junk folder so you don’t miss any emails! We do send an email confirming we received your application but please be patient. It is not an auto response. It must be sent manually. Our email is run by volunteers and is not monitored 24/7. We recommend using a computer, laptop or tablet to fill out the application. Questions do not always show up in full on a phone. Leaving a field empty will result in the application not processing. If you get a grey screen, scroll up or down to see which field you left blank. Follow the prompt to continue. ————— **IMPORTANT ** Please note that when you use the “start an inquiry/introduce yourself” feature it is NOT an application to adopt. Don’t waste your time clicking on it! Adoption donation policy effective 1/1/23: Under a year - $350 cash/check $360 PayPal/Venmo Adult (1-9) - $250 cash/check $260 PayPal/Venmo Senior (10+) - $200 cash/check $210 PayPal/Venmo We apologize for the inconvenience of a service fee if you are using PayPal or Venmo. Each year we lose hundreds of dollars for their service fees, and their fees continue to rise. Every dollar matters and those lost dollars means less dogs we can fund and help. We are a 100% volunteer group that utilizes foster homes. We do not have a shelter/building. Thank you for understanding.
