Story
Meet Shaggy! Shaggy is a cute little 9½-pound Chihuahua–Terrier mix who came to us from Laredo, Texas, where he had been living in a backyard with several other dogs and was covered in fleas and ticks. When he first arrived at Tracy’s Paws, Shaggy was understandably unsure of people. We don’t believe he had much handling in his previous life, and at first he would curl his lip and give us a bit of a stink-eye. But as the days passed and he realized he was safe, his true personality began to shine through. Underneath that cautious start is a very sweet, gentle little boy. Shaggy is about three to four years old. Because he needs a little time to warm up to new people, we are recommending a home without small children, where he can feel secure and build trust at his own pace. The good news is that Shaggy is heartworm-negative and Chagas-negative, and he is more than ready to trade rescue life for a quiet home of his own. What Shaggy would love most is a soft lap, a patient heart, and a kind home where he can continue to blossom. If you think you might be the right match for this sweet little guy, please apply online to adopt Shaggy.

Story
Meet Gibson 💛 Gibson is a 7-year-old, 22-pound Poodle mix with the gentlest soul and the sweetest eyes. This handsome boy is the definition of a snuggle bug — happiest curled up beside his person or basking in a sunny spot like it’s his full-time job. He loves quietly watching the world go by from the window and has a calm, easygoing presence that makes your home feel instantly more peaceful. Gibson gets along well with other dogs and is currently working on potty training — and making great progress! With a little consistency and encouragement, he’s well on his way. Gibson is heartworm positive and will need a calm, low-traffic environment during his treatment, so he’s looking for a patient and understanding family who can give him the time and care he deserves while he heals. In return, you’ll get unwavering loyalty, soft snuggles, and a sweet companion who just wants to love and be loved. He is currently located in the Austin, TX area and available for adoption locally. Gibson’s must-haves for his forever home: Adopters who are home often A fenced yard Time and patience during heartworm treatment A calm, low-traffic environment Gibson would prefer a home without: Children under 12 years old Lots of foot traffic Looking for a family who is seeking an older dog who is a calm, sun-loving cuddle buddy to share your couch and your heart. Gibson just might be your guy!! Gibson's adoption fee is $450, which includes the vet exam, vaccinations, flea and tick medications, heartworm test and heartworm treatments, rabies vaccine, neuter, dental work, and microchip.

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This guy has been returned to our organization by no fault of his own.  His adopter had to move to an assistant living facility and TITO was not able to relocate with her. Meet TITO, he is a funny and playful 4 year old poodle who weighs 10 pounds and will not get any bigger unless you are guilty of feeding your dog table food!  TITO came to us horrible matted and rescued from the streets of San Antonio, TX in bad shape.  He was so happy to land on a soft bed and was very hungry.  I tried to cut his hair and mats off of him but he could use a really good grooming so you can see what a handsome boy he is. TITO has a playful and easy to lucky personality.  There are no cats in the home so we do not know how he would get along with them. TITO has settled in very well with the other dogs in the foster home.  He plays with big and small but he especially likes hanging around his foster mom, following her from room to room and cuddling with her.  Her gets under her foot when her legs are crossed to scratch his back.  He rubs himself back and forth until she picks him up and gives him a good rubdown, then he is happy. TITO is house-trained, crate-trained and can be left alone in the home without getting in to anything.  He walks well on a leash and rides in the car without getting sick. If you are interested in adopting TITO, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         May 9, 2026, 10:08 am

Story
At 16 years old, Sunshine Machine is the definition of a gentle old soul. With his soft curly coat, soulful eyes, and heart-melting cuddles, this poodle mix is a sweet reminder of how special senior dogs truly are. Sunshine has been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, and while it's a serious condition, he's shown some signs of improvement since starting treatment. His lab work came back mostly normal, which gives us hope—but he’s still navigating some bumps in the road. His body is adjusting to medication, and while it’s helping with some symptoms (like frequent urination), it’s also caused some difficult side effects—nausea, vomiting, constipation, and a loss of appetite. Right now, Sunshine needs someone who can provide patient, loving care while he figures out what works best for his body. He is struggling with eating and may need to be force fed. It’s a delicate balance—but one filled with potential, if the right person can help him through this next stage of his journey. Despite it all, Sunshine Machine still lives up to his name. Once he’s comfortable, he loves short walks, gentle play, and curling up right next to you for a snuggle. He has so much love left to give—it just takes someone willing to slow down and walk alongside him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Moe! Moe is a beautiful little white Maltipoo with a gentle spirit and a heart ready to bond with the right family. Born around March 11, 2025, this sweet boy weighs 10.8 pounds, making him the perfect size for lap snuggles and companionship. Moe came from a hoarding situation where he was one of 29 dogs, so the big world can feel a little overwhelming at first. Because of this, he may take a few minutes to warm up to new people. But once you approach him calmly and give him a few gentle pets, you can almost see the moment he relaxes—then he quickly becomes your loyal little friend. He gets along great with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. He will need to go to a home with another companion dog to help him feel comfortable and confident. Moe’s best friend here is Mitchell, and they would love to be adopted together. With a patient and loving family who will give him time to settle in, he will blossom into a devoted and affectionate companion. Moe is still learning some of the basics, including walking on a leash, but with consistency and kindness he will catch on quickly. If you’re looking for a sweet pup who just needs a little patience to shine, Moe may be the perfect match for Adoption Fee: $400 Apply to adopt Moe: www.adoggie4you.org Give this gentle boy the loving home he’s been waiting for! This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.
