All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   The Coin puppies are cashing out their piggy banks for their forever homes! These puppies are 3 month old Schnauzer mixes, with the perfect blend of cuteness and goofy energy! There are two girls and two boys in this bunch. We estimate the puppies will reach between 15-20 pounds as adults. We will be looking for individual homes for each puppy as we do not place siblings together. Collect your lucky coin with one of these puppies today!     Penny: Penny has a non-shedding coat. Penny promises to bring you endless luck in the form of cuddles and kisses! She has a big puppy personality packaged into a little body! She is the perfect cuddlebug who loves curling up on an available lap for a long snuggle session, but also has a fabulous playful side. She loves soft rope toys and bravely drags them around the playpen as her siblings try to pounce on her! Penny is incredibly smart and will be an amazing little bundle of joy to her forever family!  Nickel: Nickel is an absolute King of the Hill (even though that hill is small like him)! But don’t tell him that. This little spitfire is full of big energy and an even bigger personality. He is eager to play from sunrise to bedtime and would love a canine sibling in his forever home to romp around and explore the world with. Despite Nickel’s small size, he is totally fearless and loves being the center of attention. With a face as cute as his, he is impossible to resist cuddling!  Dime: Dime is the entertaining clown princess of her litter and shimmers brighter than the sun! She is highly intelligent with a big, goofy personality. Whether she is scampering around the yard pouncing on leaves, flopping dramatically onto a lap for cuddles, or dragging around toys twice her body size, this girl will keep you laughing all day every day! Dime loves to curl up on a warm lap after a day of hijinks, and will be an amazing bundle of kisses for her lucky forever home.  Quarter: Quarter is the dictionary definition of “Man’s Best Friend”. This loving, cuddly dude showers affection on his people through excited greetings, snuggles, and constant loyal companionship. However, Quarter also has a wonderful playful side and enjoys romping around with his siblings as they play their puppy games. Quarter is the most easy-going of his siblings and is super smart, picking up new commands with ease.     The puppies start their day with a quick potty break around 7 AM, before they zoom around and play. After breakfast, the puppies head to their cleaned out pen for the day. They alternate between playing, napping. chewing on toys, cuddling, and being adorable throughout the day. In the afternoon, the puppies get long cuddle sessions followed by games of tug and fetch. In the evening, after dinner, the puppies go outside for more play and potty time. As they settle down for the night, they each get some individual cuddle time on the couch as they watch TV.  They head to bed after one last kiss on the head and puppy pile together in their crates for bedtime.  The puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They would be a great addition to a home with a dog or as a solo pup. They have met a friendly cat. They all adore people and can’t wait to find their happily ever after! The Coin puppies will be very fun to train and socialize with that fun Schnauzer energy!    The Coin puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.May 1, 2024, 9:42 pm

Godiva was surrendered to the shelter after an accidental litter led to Dad saying “no more dogs in the house”. Folks, this is why we spay/neuter our pets. We promised Godiva that her life would only get sweeter from here and scooped her up! She has been an absolute joy to all who have met her and we know she has a lifetime of adventure ahead! We expect Godiva to be in the 12-15 pound range when she is fully grown.     If you’re looking for a laid back, adorable, sweet as chocolate kind of gal, Godiva is waving her paws saying “me, me, me”! Godiva leapt right into the arms of her rescuer and snuggled in for a long cuddle on the day we met her. As we have seen her personality bloom over the days, that sweet and cuddly personality has only grown. Godiva is the perfect dog for those seeking a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to spend her life following her people on any and all adventures. Godiva’s current favorite toys are her mini LambChop and any paper she can shred. She’s like a personal assistant except she only demands payment in the form of cuddles. This gal lives up to her namesake with how sweet she is. Every day with Godiva is a different flavor of love and joy!  Godiva starts her morning at 7 AM with a trip to the potty. After she comes back inside, she soaks up another hour of cuddles on the warm bed before she starts her day! She has breakfast at 8 AM and then plays in her pen for an hour or so. She loves any toy that is soft and squeaky, so she’s very easy to please! After some playtime, Godiva takes a well-deserved luxurious morning nap, often on her back in the sunshine. Look, it’s hard work being an adorable puppy! In the afternoon, Godiva spends some time romping around with her foster siblings both in the house and in the yard. She has some impressive zoomies and can keep up with even the bigger dogs! Dinner is at 6 PM and is followed by some more playtime. In the evening, Godiva gets her cuddles on the couch as she watches TV with her foster family. After one last potty trip, Godiva heads to bed at 10 PM and snoozes through the night.   Godiva gets along well with the resident dogs in her foster home and would be a great sibling pup! She adores her people more than anything else, so as long as she has you (and some treats of course) she's okay with anything you throw at her! Godiva is very smart and food motivated, so we expect she will be the star of any training class she attends. She loves meeting new people and loves exploring the world. Godiva promises your life with her will be the sweetest kind of dream!    Godiva is an option for those who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Hershey is a 6 month old Miniature Schnauzer x Dachshund mix who is ready for a lifetime of s’more cuddles! Hershey was surrendered to the shelter with his sister, Godiva, after an accidental litter resulted in Dad saying “no more dogs in the house”. Folks, this is why we neuter our pets. We promised Hershey that his life would only be sweet from here and scooped him up. He has been an absolute joy since he arrived at our rescue and we know he has an amazing future ahead. We expect Hershey to land in the 15-17 pound range when fully grown.    Hershey is a sweet, cuddly boy who is blooming in his foster home as he gets to know the world around him. He loves sleeping on the chests and laps of his people. He loves trailing you around the house as you go about your day, but he can also keep himself occupied when needed. Hershey would be a fabulous work from home companion, or even an office dog once he gets some more socialization. For those looking for a cat in the body of a dog, Hershey is that dog! He has the best puppy dog eyes and has started to figure out that when he directs them at people, it gets him endless treats and snuggles. He likes that a lot! On a scale of one to ten, Hershey is a four in terms of energy. He is happy to romp around when he wants to play, but he also loves a long daytime nap. Hershey does love his toys and we know that his forever home will be so lucky to have this gorgeous boy.  Hershey starts his day at 6:30 AM with a trip outside for a potty break. After he comes inside, he enjoys his breakfast before he partakes in playtime while his foster family gets ready for the day. Hershey gets a short walk in the morning and a longer walk in the evening. He loves sniffing around the neighborhood as he gets more used to the leash and walking. During the day, Hershey spends his time alternating between playing with his toys, snoozing around the house, and getting scratches and cuddles whenever he can! At around 6 PM, Hershey gets dinner followed by some training. In the evening, Hershey gets cuddles and playtime with his foster family when they finish work for the day. After one last trip outside for potty, Hershey heads to his crate for the night and goes to sleep.  Hershey will need another dog in his forever home to ensure he continues to gain confidence. Hershey is still figuring out this walking and training thing, but puppy classes will be a great way for him to practice those skills! Hershey would be well suited for a home with older kids, as he is a bit shy and might be scared by loud kiddos. Hershey promises to provide so many kisses and cuddles, you’ll be luckier than a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket if you adopt him!    Hershey is only an option for those who currently own a dog, or who live in a dog-dense area. He will need continued socialization to thrive as an adult. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.May 1, 2024, 9:42 pm
