Story
I know, my ears are fabulous, aren’t they? The name’s Oakley, and I dare you not to fall completely in love. I’m a 5-year-old Maltese mix boy, weighing in at a petite 9 pounds of pure charm. I came to Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue after being pulled from a local shelter, and I’ve been making myself right at home ever since. Here’s the thing about me: I’m just… easy. I walk beautifully on leash, I’m a dream in the car, and I already station myself patiently by the screen door when nature calls. No fuss, no drama. Just a good boy doing good-boy things. I am playful, love meeting new people and get along great with other dogs. Older, dog-savvy kids are absolutely welcome in my future home. Cats are a mystery, but I’m open to making their acquaintance. I may be a little guy, but I’ve got a lot of love to give — and I’m ready to give it to you. Apply to adopt me at https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp Adoption fee: $350

Story
Meet Charlie, the affectionate snuggle bug seeking a loving home! He thrives on companionship and trust. While he will bark at new dogs and people, he calms down with time. Charlie gets along well with other dogs but should be in a cat-free home. He can be a bit hyper around kids, so an adult-only household is best. As Schnauzer, he has a unique thinner coat and has had past dietary issues, but he’s fine with a quality diet. He has a few missing teeth, so softer treats are ideal. Charlie is potty trained but needs a clean area and takes his time outside, requiring extra care. If you can offer him love and patience, he will reward you with cuddles and loyalty. Requirements for adopting Charlie: - A fenced yard. - Must take him for short walks. - No other dogs or cats preferred. - No children under 16. - Must be home most of the time. - No renters, please. - Must live in Florida, ideally within 60 miles of Sarasota-Bradenton. Adoption fee will be donated to shelter of your choice.

Story
The name's Greyson. I'm a 10.5-year-old Schnauzer mix, and yes — I am as dashing as I sound. I came to Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue after a very close call at a local shelter, and I have been embracing every single day with enthusiasm ever since. My hobbies include: running laps around the yard, announcing things that need announcing (sometimes a little loudly), counting my steps on walks, cruising in the car, and an extremely serious stuffie-tossing practice. I throw them up, I chase them down, I repeat. It's a whole thing. I’ve started to let my foster know I secretly love belly rubs too! I came in with a little extra to love, but I'm already working on my beach bod — down 5 lbs and counting! I'm friendly and playful, great with other dogs and people, crate trained, and totally fine with older kids who know their way around a dog. I have one request — please don't pick me up. I think it’s because I am a big boy right now and it’s uncomfortable. If you're looking for a spirited, loving senior with serious personality, I just might be your guy. Apply to adopt me using this adoption application link: https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp Adoption fee: $275

NAME:  Amigo BREED:  Cairn Terrier SEX:  Male COLOR:  tan AGE:  10 years as of 2026 WEIGHT:  10 lbs LOCATED IN:  Arcadia SOME COOL INFORMATION ABOUT ME:  Meet Amigo!  Amigo is a 10-year-old Cairn Terrier mix weighing just 10 pounds, and this little gentleman has enough personality to fill a room. Don t let the number 10 fool you. Amigo still has plenty of spunk, a feisty spirit, and an enthusiasm for life that makes everyone around him smile. He s always ready to see what s going on, greet a new friend, or accept a treat... especially a tasty treat! Amigo doesn't seem to know a stranger. He enjoys meeting new people and has a friendly, outgoing personality that makes him an easy dog to love. Amigo gets along well with most other dogs, making him a wonderful companion whether he's sharing a home with another pup or soaking up all the attention himself. When Amigo first came to Canine Castaways, he was dealing with itchy skin caused by a flea allergy. Thanks to proper care, his skin continues to improve, and he's feeling better every day. Amigo may be considered a senior, but he's proof that age is just a number. Hes reached the age where he's traded puppy antics for confidence... but thankfully, no one told him he's supposed to slow down. He still has plenty of pep in his step, lots of love to give, and is ready to make someone laugh with his big personality. Amigo is also a proud member of Boelter's Bunch!  Thanks to the generosity of a special supporter, his adoption fee has already been sponsored. If your application, home visit, and veterinary reference are approved, all that's left is welcoming Amigo home. If you're looking for a loyal little sidekick with a feisty spirit, a heart of gold, and an endless appreciation for treats, Amigo is ready to become your new best friend. NAME:  Cataleya BREED:  Terrier mix SEX:  Female COLOR:  black/brown/white AGE:  2 yrs as of June 2026 WEIGHT:  14 lbs Meet Cataleya!  Cataleya is a 2-year-old Terrier mix weighing 14 pounds, with a bright mind, an adventurous spirit, and a heart that's still learning that the world can be a safe place. This beautiful girl is incredibly smart. Give her a puzzle, a challenge, or a new adventure, and she's ready to put her brain to work. Cataleya loves learning, exploring, and figuring things out. She's the kind of dog who pays attention to everything and is always thinking one step ahead. While Cataleya can be shy with new people, her caution comes from uncertainty, not aggression. When she's nervous, she may let out a high-pitched squeal or even flash her front teeth as if to say, Please give me a minute! But she's never bitten anyone. She simply needs a little time and patience to realize you're a friend. Once Cataleya understands that you're not going to hurt her, she relaxes and begins to show her sweet and curious personality. Cataleya is happiest in a calm, predictable environment where she feels secure. She actually enjoys her crate and often sees it as her safe place. Unlike many dogs, she's not particularly interested in spending long periods outdoors and would much rather be inside with her people once she's had a chance to stretch her legs. She's also a bit of an athlete. In fact, Cataleya can climb a chain-link fence, so any future family will need to keep that impressive talent in mind when managing outdoor time. Cataleya gets along with other dogs, although she's more independent than social butterfly. She'll play occasionally, but she's generally more focused on doing her own thing than joining every canine party. What Cataleya needs most is a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned. Someone who will let her move at her own pace, celebrate her victories, and appreciate the incredible bond that develops when a shy dog learns she's finally home. The best things in life are'nt always immediate. Sometimes they're earned one small moment at a time. And Cataleya is absolutely worth the wait. NAME:  Captain Sully BREED:  Schnauzer mix SEX:  male COLOR:  black AGE:  Est DOB 11/2022 WEIGHT:  23 lbs NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Meet Sully!  Sully is an almost 4-year-old Schnauzer mix weighing 24 pounds, and he's searching for the person willing to give him the chance he's been waiting for. Before moving into foster care, Sully spent far too long watching other dogs find homes while wondering when his turn would come. His foster family saw something special in him and decided to give him a chance. Within just a week, Sully began to blossom. The shy, uncertain dog they first brought home quickly learned he was safe. Today, Sully spends his days playing with his foster brothers and sisters, running around the yard, enjoying walks, carrying around his favorite soft toys, and keeping a close eye on the people he loves. He especially enjoys snacks, outdoor adventures, and spending time with his canine friends. Sully gets along very well with other dogs and would likely love a home with a playful canine companion. He seems happiest when he has dog friends to run and play with. While Sully enjoys being close to his people, he's not a dog who needs to be in your lap all day. Instead, he prefers to be nearby. You'll find him at the foot of the bed, beside you on the couch, or resting near your feet while you go about your day. Being close is his way of saying, I love you. Like many dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Sully can be cautious with new people and is sometimes more skeptical of men at first. He also has occasional moments where something seems to trigger old fears, causing him to become anxious or unsure. When that happens, Sully needs patience, understanding, and a little time to work through it. The good news is that once he feels safe, his true personality shines. And that personality is wonderful. Sully enjoys birthday parties, walks, yard time, toys, naps, and simply being part of the family. He sleeps happily on the bed with his foster humans but is also content relaxing in his crate. His foster family describes him as a pretty well-rounded pup who has made incredible progress since leaving the shelter. The ideal home for Sully would have a fenced yard, another friendly dog, no small children, and people who understand that trust is something earned, not rushed. Sully doesn't need someone to rescue him. He needs someone to believe in him. His foster family already does. Now he's hoping his forever family will too.
