Story
Smittie has tried the single life and now wants to be part of a family. He is a superb little guy who loves absolutely everyone and everything and will fit into a home where he has ample opportunity to share his energetic and affectionate nature. He is a confident, friendly boy who is comfortable with other dogs after an appropriate introduction. When visitors arrive, he is positive they have come to see him and is quick to show affection. A lovely chap to have around, he is eager to please, good on leash, and loves having a cuddle. He is attentive, learns quickly, and picks up on signals like a pro!
Smittie is the perfect companion for a busy household, housebroken, crate trained, and absolutely loves children. At 2 years old, this boy is still a baby but has already overcome some medical setbacks. He has been diagnosed with a slightly malformed heart valve which doesn’t slow him down a bit and is managed wonderfully with heart meds twice a day. An echocardiogram will be required at least once a year to keep an eye on things. This beautiful boy is amazing, apply to adopt today!
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
