Story
Hello, my name is Taco! Mommy believes I am two-year-old Schnauzer mix. I am a very sweet little boy. I love to be held and snuggle up on mommy or daddy's lap to take naps. At night I sleep with them under the covers (my mommy keeps the house too cold for me). I am well behaved, potty trained and come when called. I came to be with the Fayette Humane Society because my previous owner was elderly and would let me go outside to go potty in an unfenced yard and I ran into the street and got hit by a truck, my back right leg was busted in a couple places and I was in a cast for six weeks. My owner was unable to care for me after I got injured and she had to give me up. I just got my cast off a week ago. My leg has healed up well, but I am still working on building up strength in the muscles on that leg. Mommy has put me on joint medicine just to help keep the bones/joints healthy. Because it seems I may have some allergies, I am also on ProPlan Salmon and Rice dry food. I do not like the wet, so mommy uses actual tuna (a tablespoon mixed with dry food for each meal). I love other dogs, my foster home has a German Shepherd and another foster dog named Rainbow Rosie, I love to play with both of them but they're big, so mommy won't let me play with them because they play too rough. I also like the cats that I live but if they start running, I think we're playing and I chase them, which of course neither they nor mommy like. Story
I was on a great adventure and found myself lost. I must have been out on my own for awhile, or not very well taken care of, because my coat was overgrown. I ended up at the county shelter and was scared to death. It was so loud and busy I was so happy when I was rescued. I've got a cataract in my left eye, but I can see out of the right so I get around just fine. I got a hair cut, I don't even look like the same dog now. I'm a playful fellow, both by myself or with other pups at rescue. I play with toys and encourage my housemates to play and sometimes they do. It makes me soooo happy. I'm a healthy pup inside and out. I'm ready for that forever home that will love me and take good care of me.....so I can take good care of YOU.
