Story

Gretzky fell into my lap when I first set out on my (fairly picky) dog search. I was fortunate enough to rehome her from another family who was welcoming twin newborns. I’ve had her for 7 years, and she’s just been delightful. She can be as active or as chill as you’d like, and generally just enjoys being around you. She’s not clingy and she has very good manners. She is crate trained, and in fact prefers to be in her crate when home alone. She does well in her crate for quite a few hours at a time. While you wouldn’t know she’s aging by the way she acts, time marches on for everyone. I’m not confident that I’m equipped to make her golden years shine as bright as she deserves, so I’m wondering if there might be a family or older individual able to be with her during the days and help keep her active. No significant medical needs at this time but I’d be happy to discuss her health in more detail on request. $50 “price tag” is to try to ensure a quality adopter.

Sarge's owner went to jail and so Sarge did too at Animal Control. We then bailed him out. He is 15 years old, totally blind and one of his eye's is painful, so it was removed. He recently got all his rotten teeth extracted and he was neutered. Please help him! Tucker came to us with a punctured eye from an open intake shelter and had to have it removed. He is fully recovered and in a foster home. Tucker can be cranky at times and he is very, very old so our rescue will keep him comfortable for however long he needs. Please HELP him! Buddy is sweet and adorable and looking for a special forever home! Buddy came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray and not reclaimed. He is a very affectionate boy who loves people and going on walks. His ideal home would be quiet with someone home most of the time, and experienced schnauzer lover, and if there is another dog, one that is friendly and submissive. He does great with female dogs and submissive males. He does not do well being handled by a groomer or vet, so we would not consider him to be a candidate to be a lap dog. But if you're looking for an affectionate companion, Buddy is available! Buddy would do best in a home with a fenced yard and with no children since too much activity scares him. He is about 5 years old, neutered, just had a dental, up to date on shots, microchipped, heartworm and fecal tested negative. He weighs about 12 lbs. He is being fostered in the Chicago area.
